MY VERDICT: Jennifer kicked off the week in a wild pattern but dialed it back by Wednesday when she stepped out in a little black tuxedo dress by L’Wren Scott for the “Mom + Social” kick-off event. The “Live It Up” singer arrived at the 92Y Tribeca in New York City wearing the sheer yoke figure-hugging cocktail dress, which was originally debuted on the Fall 2012 runway as a silk-satin gown. You may remember previously seeing it on Nicole Kidman at the 2012 Academy Of Country Music Awards.

MY VERDICT: Despite the warmer season quickly approaching, I can’t help but love the head-to-toe black ensemble that Lily Collins rock at WonderCon this year.  The 23-year-old, who was in attendance to promote her upcoming movie “The Mortal Instruments” at a cast panel, rocked a black sheer Valentino blouse with a white ponytail collar and matching cuffs, from the Spring 2013 collection.  I can’t be the only one getting Wednesday Addams-vibes!  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Michelle brightened up in Austin, Texas when she attended the SXSW premiere of “Gus” wearing a vivid citrus crepe sleeveless sheath dress by Roksanda Ilincic.   The brunette actress selected the solid design from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection, which features an angled ivory inset at the waist.  Michelle properly highlighted the bi-color style of her dress with matching nude blade pumps by Casadei that are piped in cool orange.  A wood pattern clutch completed her look. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Many of the Vanity Fair Oscar celebration attendees opted for gowns while Kate chose to party the night away in a comfortable mini.  The “Black Rock” actress arrived wearing a long-sleeve pale silver lace embroidered dress from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Haute Couture collection.  My favorite part of the feminine design would be the smattering of light pink rosette and petal appliqués that spray across the waistline.

Kate complimented the soft shimmering shades of the frock by slipping on a pair of champagne gold Casadei strappy sandals, and carrying a matching metallic Rauwolf clutch.

Taking inspiration from the fairytale feel of the dress to finished her look, Kate had her hair styled in a still-trendy ‘braided halo’ before completing with tiny diamond drop earrings and a bold raspberry-pink pout.

 

WHO: Zoe Saldana
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards on February 23, 2013.
WEARING: Dolce & Gabbana dress, Casadei shoes.

MY VERDICT: You couldn’t possibly miss Zoe on the pink carpet in her full forest green and white ensemble!  The “Nina” actress wore a striped brocade knee-length dress from the Spring 2013 collection by Dolce & Gabbana that completely matched her white Casadei pumps with green piped contrast.  To be honest, I think Zoe pulls the dress off—it actually works well on her, I’m just not into heavy stripes, and I’ve always had a hot-and-cold relationship with white shoes.  I don’t hate the look, but I don’t love it.  It is what it is.  That being said, Zoe’s hair and makeup were flawless. | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: “Spring Breakers” Paris premiere on February 18, 2013.

MY VERDICT: All hail the lady suit! Selena rocked the red carpet when she joined her “Spring Breakers” costars Ashley Benson and Vanessa Hudgens at the premiere of their film in Berlin wearing a fierce pinstripe black suit with gold detail from Atelier Versace.  This two-piece ensemble is brand-spanking-new as it was only recently debuted during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week last month—and it might be the coolest thing Miss Gomez has ever worn.  Not only are the metallic sequin embellishments obviously a selling point, but the tulle-covered cutout back locked it up for sure. Selena wore her long hair out in side-gathered cascading waves as to not disrupt that detail.  A ponytail would have been less of a hassle, but I pefer her hair out with this one. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Amy looked absolutely stunning in her Elie Saab Fall 2012 Haute Couture gown at the BAFTAs!  The “Master” star commanded attention on the ruby red carpet in the ultra-glamorous black long sleeve lace gown with a shimmering embroidered bodice and waist, along with a sexy draped back, and a front crepe georgette skirt with a high slit to show off her heels!  Clearly this gown has every needed detail covered.  I never would have imagined this dress for Amy, and yet it’s practically perfect.  What is with tonight being the moment all of these ladies break out their best looks? Go figure it would occur in the rain.  Then again, they say rain is good luck.  Even still, wet lace can make you very cold–especially in London during February nighttime air. | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: “Les Misérables” premiere at the 63rd Berlinale International Film Festival on February 9, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Did Anne coordinate outfits with Amanda Seyfried for the Berlinale premiere of their musical movie “Les Misèrables”?  The two ladies both sported glittering embellished bindings in their silk chiffon dark dresses.  While Amanda opted for a more recent runway look, her costar dipped into the Chanel Couture Fall 2009 archives for her beautiful navy short dress, which features a dramatic train.  I have to say, I may be hot-and-cold with Anne’s style these past few weeks, but I personally feel that she wore this better than the model.  I prefer the shortened hemline, and I really like how she kept it similar with tights—though the black opaque with navy satin pumps were much more complimentary than lace tights and boots. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: It looks like the midriff trend is anything but over in 2013!  You can always count on Ashley to bring her cool “California girl” everyday style to the red carpet whenever she has the chance—and, of course, she did just that for the “Safe Haven” premiere.  The 27-year-old kept her look laid back but pretty when she selected a printed black-and-white crop top from The Hellers that was partnered with their long black wrap skirt.  She wore a very dark ensemble, but there was nothing “gloomy” about it.  I liked that the slit in the skirt gave you a great view of Ashley’s blade pumps from Casadei, which also complimented her crystal-encrusted Devi Kroell clutch.  Ash finished with stacked House of Lavande bangles, metallic smoky eyes and a partially gathered mane to show off her fun violet streak. | continue reading..

WHO: Amy Adams
WHERE & WHEN: 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon on February 4, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Amy slipped into a vivid, gorgeous purple abstract floral pattern when she attended the Oscar nominee luncheon today.  The 38-year-old actress selected the long-sleeve silk dress from the Spring 2013 collection by J. Mendel, which features contoured piping detail at the bodice and blending patch pockets at the front of her hips.  After that very pale gown she wore to the Golden Globes last month and so many LBDs before that, it was nice to see Amy back in some lively color.

With the dress as the focal point, Amy wore ivory Casadei platform pumps to match the lightest color in the pattern.  I don’t think the heaviness brought down the delicate fabric, but I believe a slimmer shoe would have provided a much more streamlined appearance.  Amrapali earrings, minimal makeup, and a low ponytail with straying tendrils helped Amy complete her look.
