MY VERDICT: Jennifer stepped out on the ruby carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel this afternoon for the annual Oscar nominees luncheon wearing a white strapless dress by Chloé.  The beautiful “Silver Linings Playbook” nominated star selected the knee-length design, which features a draped bodice.  It’s a pretty fluid design, but considering her sun-kissed skin, the color and cut of the dress, and that tousled hair—it appears as though she stepped right off the beach, grabbed a towel, and threw on a pair of heels.  I can’t say that this is the best silhouette for Jen, but to be fair, I don’t think it is for many ladies.

The 22-year-old actress wore the same black satin Casadei pumps that she opted for over the weekend with her striped jumpsuit at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.  | continue reading..

WHO: Anne Hathaway
WHERE & WHEN: 65th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards on February 2, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Showing off some leg, Anne played with patterns at the 2013 DGAs when she stepped out on the black carpet wearing a pretty sheath dress from the Valentino Fall 2012 Haute Couture collection, which features a bold motif in rich shades of pink, purple, and red that’s bordered by grey crystal beading.  I really like that she pulled the from the navy base when choosing her shoes, the midnight satin sapphire pumps from Casadei were the perfect touch. With soft makeup and minimal Cartier jewelry, Anne completed her look with a moveable pixie ‘do.

Considering her longtime friendship with the fashion house, and Valentino himself—he designed her wedding dress after all—I wonder if Anne will select will wear one of his dresses at the Academy Awards that take place later this month. I guess we’ll see.

MY VERDICT: Fresh off her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, Jen was at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival this weekend where she was honored for “Outstanding Performer of the Year”!  Looks like the “Silver Linings Playbook” star is the first to score a design from Stella McCartney‘s hip new Pre-Fall 2013 collection, and she opted for the funky black and sapphire striped jumpsuit.  The strapless silhouette features a notch in the bust and tailored trousers.  This was actually my favorite piece from the collection, and I was both surprised and really pleased that Jen wore it; I think it was a good match for her.

The model has a much more petite bust, so I’m not surprised that the split wasn’t as narrow on Jen’s curves, but it’s unfortunate that one of the flaps collapsed on her.  | continue reading..

Busy Philipps proudly displayed her growing belly in a custom made Gabriela Cadena navy blue long sleeve silk dress.  The “Cougar Town” actress, who recently announced her second pregnancy added some boldness to her look with a colorful one-of-a-kind Irene Neuwirth statement necklace and a matching embellished clutch by Judith Leiber.  A scarlet red lip, gathered mane and Brian Atwood “Stearling” shoes were the finishing touches.

Alexis Bledel like Jessica Pare, the 31-year-old actress also opted to wear a brilliant shade of emerald green at the SAGs this year. I love the color and pleated detailing of her structured Rena Lange dress, and the way her beautiful vintage House of Lavende colorful crystal necklace sat amongst the deep v-neckline. MY VERDICT: As my out-right favorite design from the Fall/Winter 2012 Haute-Couture collection by Elie Saab, I was very excited to see that Jessica wore this black fully-embroidered lace gown last night for the Producers Guild Awards.  The deep sweetheart neckline, the dazzling slightly sheer skirt and appliqué sleeves are such beauties that I basically have no qualms about this look. MY VERDICT: In true Zooey Deschanel fashion, the “New Girl” star arrived wearing an Oscar de la Renta ball gown completed with wispy bangs and pearls.  She’s has a knack for playing with vintage styles and sometimes infusing her quirky personality into it, which she did tonight with film reel nail art!  Zooey wore a red silk taffeta gown from the designers Pre-Fall 2013 collection, a strapless design with a full skirt that wasn’t presented on the runway.  I like that Zooey sticks to her likes and doesn’t comprise her style; she knows what she’s into and it never comes across as phoney on the red carpet.  I think she looked really nice.

MY VERDICT: Isla Fisher looked so beautiful on the red carpet tonight in this dazzling Reem Acra dress.  I recently gushed about how much I loved the crystal and sequin embellishing of this beige cap sleeve tulle gown on one of my wish lists, so I’m thrilled that it was Isla’s selection for this special and high-profile occasion.  The fit was perfect, but it’s every inch of the detailing that truly leaves you captivated. Isla was a true Hollywood beauty; she completed her look with a dramatic raspberry pout, Van Cleef  & Arpels diamonds, and side parted Veronica Lake-inspired waves.

WHERE & WHEN: The Art of Elysium’s 6th Annual HEAVEN Gala at 2nd Street Tunnel in Los Angeles on January 12, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Camilla shut that grey carpet down when she arrived looking nothing short of absolutely stunning!  The 26-year-old actress wore a watercolor polka dot pattern better than I think most people could; she selected an off-the-shoulder gown from Carolina Herrera‘s Pre-Fall 2013 collection that featured a tiered skirt and long train.  I just adore everything about this look; from the fit of the dress and bursting color against Camilla’s complexion and dark features, to the dazzling diamonds and youthfully elegant up-do.  I would say she nailed this one, wouldn’t you?

MY VERDICT: She had a rocky start at the PCAs on Wednesday, but Jennifer has had two back-to-back fashion wins this week—and both of them were the result of the new Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 collection!  If you saw my latest Wish List, you’ll know that I saw the line as a go-to for Jen so I’m pretty psyched to see that she took an interest.  Today she looked fantastic in a sleeveless multicolor blocked sheath dress, which featured peplums at the hips. Although she passed on the neon trim leather belt (bummer!) Jen slipped on the black, white and hot pink mesh ankle strap pumps that were worn by the model. | continue reading..
