CATE BLANCHETT looked so ethereal on the green carpet for the royal performance of ” The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” in London!  The Australian beauty wore head-to-toe Givenchy, which was complimented with a chignon and a flawless makeup palette.  Makeup artist Mary Greenwell teamed up with Cate for the evening and shared her step-by-step process for getting Cate ready with The Fashion Court!

“The gown that Cate wore at the premiere demanded nothing more than simplicity. It was striking, futuristic, but demure and showed her lovely back with a high neckline in front. Strong makeup would have taken away from the elegant that is her signature, and the naturalness of her beauty,” Mary explained.

Cate Blanchett looked beautiful tonight when the green carpet rolled out for the highly-anticipated royal film performance of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” held at Odeon Leicester Square in London.

The Australian actress elegantly posed in her Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci winter white gown with a billowing top, but tucked waist. This looks so cozy for the December weather that it’s almost hard to believe it comes from the recent Spring 2013 collection. The crew neck, long sleeved design features a draped open back above the rear and gold epaulettes at the shoulders.

Cate Blanchett looked beautiful and refreshed on the red carpet last night when she attended the “Life of Pi” opening gala, held during Day 1 of the 9th Annual Dubai International Film Festival in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Australian actress stood tall and confident in her ice blue short sleeve draped silk-chiffon Rodarte gown, which featured a metallic rust orange inset at both sides that matched a shorter skirt underneath; it wasn’t visible due to the closed center split.

This entire Spring 2013 collection from sister designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy is filled with unique cuts, vibrant colors and asymmetric layers in this aesthetic. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of this particular dress on the runway, I think it’s much more appealing to the eye after seeing it on Cate… and I find myself wishing she had worn the intricate belt as well.

Cate completed her look with a stained rose-colored pout and a pinned up hairstyle.

The 43-year-old Australian actress wore a professional look consisting of a black blazer and ankle-length black pants. Cate brightened her ensemble brilliantly with a green and white striped “Moe” collared blouse from the Resort 2013 collection by Preen. I love the different shades of green making up each stripe.
