MY VERDICT: Kristen was one of the last Oscar arrivals, and she did so by stepping out on crutches!  The “On The Road” star was nursing an unexplained injury, but toughened it up to go sans assistance as she posed for photos in her glittering Reem Acra Spring 2009 Bridal Couture dress; a pale blush strapless bustier gown with exquisite hand beaded embroidery throughout, pleated tulle inserts, and a low-dipping open back.  It was the most ethereal look I’ve seen on her; that being said, I’m either a stickler for wanting to see the actress in rich color—or I’m just a hard one to win over with pale dresses.

WHO: Elizabeth Olsen
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Chanel Haute Couture dress and clutch with Chanel Fine Jewelry.

MY VERDICT: It was all about Chanel for Elizabeth, who hit the red BAFTA carpet in a black Fall 2011 Haute Couture dark blue organza peplum gown entirely embroidered with silver sequins, dark blue feathers, and organza camélias.  To be honest, I wasn’t all that crazy about this dress on the runway, but I think Lizzie is changing my mind a bit.  The 23-year-old “Very Good Girls” actress was owning it and bursting with confidence, which made the dress look better in my eyes.  I’m so glad that she didn’t try to over-do it with major hair, makeup and accessories.  With such an attention-grabbing dress, sometimes the rest of the details are best left with a subtle approach.

Lizzie simply finished with loose waves, a black clutch, matching pumps, and 18k “Profil de Camélia” and “L’Air” rings in white gold and diamonds from Chanel Fine Jewelry.

WHO: Anne Hathaway
WHERE & WHEN: “Les Misérables” premiere at the 63rd Berlinale International Film Festival on February 9, 2013.
WEARING: Chanel Haute Couture dress, Casadei shoes

MY VERDICT: Did Anne coordinate outfits with Amanda Seyfried for the Berlinale premiere of their musical movie “Les Misèrables”?  The two ladies both sported glittering embellished bindings in their silk chiffon dark dresses.  While Amanda opted for a more recent runway look, her costar dipped into the Chanel Couture Fall 2009 archives for her beautiful navy short dress, which features a dramatic train.  I have to say, I may be hot-and-cold with Anne’s style these past few weeks, but I personally feel that she wore this better than the model.  I prefer the shortened hemline, and I really like how she kept it similar with tights—though the black opaque with navy satin pumps were much more complimentary than lace tights and boots. | continue reading..

WHO: Chloe Moretz
WHERE & WHEN: 10th Anniversary of Teen Vogue & Chloe Grace Moretz’s Sweet 16 Celebration on February 7, 2013.
WEARING: Chanel dress, shoes & bag with an Aeropostale jacket.

MY VERDICT: Chloe stood out in the bubblegum pink carpet in a little light blue Chanel when she attended her Sweet 16 celebration hosted by Aeropostale, which also served as the 10th anniversary of Teen Vogue Magazine.  The teen star is the current cover girl of the latest issue!  Chloe wore a cute ice blue bodysuit with a matching skirt and jewel belt from the Resort 2013 Versailles collection that she toughened up with a black faux leather Aeropostale biker jacket.  Tousled waves and ladylike Chanel accessories were added t balance out her ensemble; Chloe carried a white 2.55 mini quilted bag and wore a pair of studded grey suede pumps.  I really liked this from head-to-toe. | continue reading..

WHO: Julianne Moore
WHERE & WHEN: 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 27, 2013.

MY VERDICT: I guess Julianne tried to recreate the magic of her last two-toned red carpet look, but fell a bit short last night when she slipped into some ill-fitting Chanel Haute Couture, from the Fall 2011 collection.  The bottom half of the “Game Change” stars dress was really pretty; I liked the navy flower appliqués, but the plunging v-neckline was so baggy and unattractive.  It definitely needed some adjusting at the sides and needed some extra fabric modification to make the “V” not dip so far underneath her bust.  That works for some people, but not in this case.

As for the rest of her look, Julianne’s hair was practically perfect, the makeup was just enough and those Van Cleef & Arpels diamonds packed some major sparkle.  I wish we could have gotten a glimpse of her Charlotte Olympia heels.

MY VERDICT: I love a good statement coat, and Katy’s certainly fits the bill.  The orange and black striped pattern is bold and funky, but it’s the button and double slanted pocket details paired with that beautiful piped layer collar that really stands out the most.  I prefer the black leather belt from the runway, but Katy’s brown accent works well.  She actually wore a a pretty embroidered dress from the same collection beneath the outerwear, but unfortunately, we only saw the pointed collar.  I wish we could have seen more of it—as well as her shoes of choice.

I liked the way she finished with a black hat, oversize sunglasses, diamond earrings, and a really cool Chanel iphone case.

WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.

MY VERDICT:  I had Anniee pegged for a streamlined look tonight to flatter her pixie haircut, but I’m both surprised and excited that she dipped into archives rather than opting for something new or custom.  The “Les Misèrables” star selected an absolutely gorgeous winter white Chanel beaded strapless column dress, from the Spring/Summer 2009 Haute Couture collection. Wow, she looks incredible!  From the layered sleek silhouette, to the delicate gorgeous embroidery, and above all else—a perfect fit.  Anne sparkled with minimal, but stunning Chanel Fine Jewelry; a “Swing Diamant” diamond bracelet, “Plume” diamond bracelet, and a pair of “Camellia” small diamond earrings.

This look was perfectly completed with a sheer manicure and a soft palette of Chanel makeup.

WHERE & WHEN: 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on January 10, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Let’s face it, you’re never going to get something ordinary when it comes to Elle’s red carpet look. At only fourteen years old this girl takes more chances than half of Hollywood, and I love her for it.  Last night she slipped into a Chanel white strapless dress with flower appliqués, from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which fell to her ankles.  I can’t say that I like the fit because the dress looks like a blanket, but Elle pulled it off. I wouldn’t try and change her interests, but this isn’t something I’d want her to wear—and I think it’s mostly due to the shoes. I just don’t like the shoes at all.  I think a sandal in the green color featured in the dress would have been a nice option. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Jennifer passed on the red carpet, but we got a clear view of her chosen outfit when she accepted an award during the PCAs ceremony.  The 43-year-old actress rocked a little black leather Christian Dior dress, a modified non-presented look from the Resort 2013 collection.  I’m completely unsurprised by Jen’s choice as she rarely ever strays from a black or black-and-white ensemble.  With her signature layered tresses in sleek strands, she completed her look with Tom Ford black sandals with a crystal encrusted heel.
