Christina Perri in Philip Armstrong | Warner Music Group’s 2013 Grammy Celebration

WHO: Christina Perri
WHERE & WHEN: Warner Music Group’s 2013 Grammy Celebration on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Philip Armstrong dress, Gucci shoes

MY VERDICT: Christina looked like a badass ballerina in her pretty blush, full skirted Philip Armstrong cocktail dress, from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.  The “A Thousand Years” singer hit the black carpet for the Grammy after party wearing the ladylike design, which featured strong structured cap sleeves that put her famous tats on display. Black lace embroidery sat at the waist, just before the pop of the wide pleated skirt—which is totally “twirl-worthy”.  I hope Christina took advantage of that! | continue reading..

Ashley Madekwe in Monique Lhuillier | Entertainment Weekly Pre-SAG Party

WHO: Ashley Madekwe
WHERE & WHEN: Entertainment Weekly Pre-SAG Party in Los Angeles on January 26, 2013.
WEARING: Monique Lhuillier dress, Saint Laurent shoes, Judith Leiber clutch & Kara Ackermanjewelry.

MY VERDICT: Ashley looked fabulous last night!  She put on her best party dress (courtesy of Monique Lhuillier), which was a classic short sleeve a-line silhouette with a playful splatter of silver against a beautiful teal base. Is it possible to love a dress so much more off the catwalk than you did when you saw it on the runway? The answer is yes, and this “Revenge” star is proof. She found the perfect black sandals to compliment the skinny belt before completing her look with slightly curled tresses, a hot pink lip, an embellished clutch and sparkling diamond stud earrings. Nina Dobrev in Matthew Williamson | Entertainment Weekly Pre-SAG Party

WHO: Nina Dobrev
WHERE & WHEN: Entertainment Weekly Pre-SAG Party in Los Angeles on January 26, 2013.
WEARING: Matthew Williamson dress, Elie Saab clutch

MY VERDICT: It’s always such a treat to see Nina out and about on the Hollywood scene, and that might be partially due to the fact that I’m always interested in seeing what she’s going to wear.  Last night “The Vampire Diaries” star rocked the black carpet at the EW party wearing a beautiful printed strapless maxi dress by Matthew Williamson.  It may be January, but considering I’m freezing my tushy over here on the east coast, I like that Nina’s look is reminding me that springtime isn’t far ahead!  I adore the sleek silhouette, and the colors used in the pattern really compliment her complexion and dark hair.  With soft subtle makeup, Nina completed her look with a metallic Elie Saab box clutch. Effortless and lovely.

Marion Cotillard in Prabal Gurung | W Magazine’s Pre-Golden Globes Party

Marion Cotillard in Prabal Gurung | W Magazine's Pre-Golden Globes PartyPhotos: Zimbio; Style.com
WHO: Marion Cotillard
WHERE & WHEN: W Magazine’s celebration of The Golden Globes, held at the Chateau Marmont on January 11, 2013.
WEARING: Prabal Gurung

MY VERDICT: Jennifer Lawrence may have debuted the first look from Prabal Gurung‘s badass Pre-Fall 2013 collection this week at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, only to snatch another look the following day, but Marion Cotillard was the latest lady to bring you some graphic realness over the weekend.  The “Rust and Bone” donned the shiny white contrast printed top and tuxedo trousers, which features an aqua, purple and black triple stripe belt.  To be honest, it looks like a jumpsuit, and she paired with the structured black tux jacket from the line.

This was one of my favorite looks, and don’t get me wrong–I’m happy to see it get some exposure, but it feels a little strange seeing it on Marion.  She’s gorgeous, yes, but my being unsure of the look has more to do with the fact that it’s so different for her! It’s not her usual style, so I was taken back when I saw this picture.  What do you think?

What's Your Verdict

WHO: Jennifer Lawrence
WHERE & WHEN: W Magazine’s celebration of The Golden Globes, held at the Chateau Marmont on January 11, 2013.
WEARING: Victoria Beckham dress, Christian Louboutin shoes & Jill Milanbag.

MY VERDICT: The big night is quickly approaching, and Jennifer celebrated Golden Globe weekend in style by checking out the W Magazine party in a bright blue body-con dress from Victoria Beckham.  This split shoulder v-neck dress was a smooth fit around Jen’s curves, and I loved how the oceanic shade popped off her light complexion while complimenting her eye color.  It may be a classic design that few go wrong with, but I still think it might be one of the best dresses she’s worn in awhile.  | continue reading..

GQ Men of the Year: Top 10 Best Dressed Men

GQ Men of the Year: Top 10 Best Dressed MenL-R: James Van Der Beek, Ben McKenzie, James Marsden, Lamorne Morris and Ryan Kwanten | Photos: Zimbio
There were many, many ladies on the black carpet on Tuesday night to honor the fellas of the 2012 GQ Men of the Year party, which there’s a full run-down of—but, let’s get to the main subject of the night—all those well-dressed men! Honestly, I’ve never seen so many dashing guys in all one place; it was really hard to narrow down my Top 10 favorites. Where there is a will, there’s a way… and when there’s colorful and printed suits in the way, I have that will.

So, let me break it down—and then I’ll leave it your hands to vote on this one.

James Van Der Beek: I could quite possibly run out of compliments for the blue Knot Standard for Confederacy suit the “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23″ star wore, but that won’t stop me from trying. I love the rich hue on James; it’s something I’m not use to seeing him wear, but props to his stylist because this was a real winner. It was a brilliant fit; it complimented his complexion and light hair while bringing out his eye color. The mixture of the black-and-white gingham shirt and striped tie just gave it that extra boost of character that I love so much.

Ben McKenzie: IT’S RED, YOU GUYS. He wore red. Somebody call Robert Pattinson and tell him Ben McKenzie stole his look. No, wait–don’t do that. The more the merrier. Although I think Ben should have left those buttons closed on his Ted Baker maroon suit, with black two-tone lapels, that won’t stop me from totally gushing over this. What a gorgeous shade of red; he wore it well. | continue reading..

Emily VanCamp in Reem Acra | GQ Men of the Year Party 2012

While many stars opted for daring exposed undergarments, sexy cutouts and vivid color, Emily VanCamp joined the pack of graphic lovers when she attended the GQ Men of the Year party this past Tuesday night wearing a printed dress.

The “Revenge” actress wore a pink, chocolate and gold geometric sequin knee-length dress by Reem Acra, from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection.  I like the design of the dress, but I don’t understand why everyone is so afraid of belted dresses lately.  | continue reading..

Krysten Ritter in Dolce & Gabbana | GQ Men of the Year Party 2012

Dakota Johnson wasn’t the only star rocking some see-through lace at the GQ Men of the Year party!

“Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23″ star Krysten Ritter hit the black carpet last week wearing a Dolce & Gabbana two-tone combo, which included a gold and ruby embellished ivory floral lace long-sleeve blouse with bell shaped cuffs and a matching black lace mini skirt with exposed briefs. This could have gone really badly as it’s risky to show off undergarments–whether it’s a part of the design or not, but I think Krysten did well. If it was lined, it might have been too boring.

She left her hair out in natural waves with just a little bit of make-up before topping off her look with black pumps and a red shimmering Judith Leiber clutch that matched the embroidered detail in her top. If she had donned some sexy sandals or too much make-up, that would have taken the look to a not-so-cute level. It would’ve been just that easy.

What did you think of Krysten’s two-tone lacy number?

Alessandra Ambrosio looked absolutely fabulous as usual when she attended the annual GQ Men of the Year party on Tuesday night in Los Angeles wearing a sassy little cutout white dress.

The Victoria’s Secret model highlighted her tan with a long-sleeve white mini dress from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection by Sally LaPointe with cutouts at the waist, a draped cream-colored detail along the short skirt and a black leather belt. | continue reading..

What’s up with black see-through lace tops being so popular this week? Kristen Stewart may have worn a sexy illusion jumpsuit on Wednesday, but while Ashley Greene was sporting it in New York City on Tuesday—Dakota Johnson was doing the same at the annual GQ Men of the Year bash in Hollywood!
The “Ben and Kate” star hit the black carpet at the Chateau Marmont in a dainty lace long-sleeve “Ada” top from JOE’S Jeans ($145, joesjeans.com), which features delicate floral lace with chevron patterns throughout the arms and bodice. Dakota could have made it a little modest with a black tank top—but, she found it a bit more fun to play it up with simply a black bra. I would have preferred a bandeau. | continue reading..
