WHO: Emma Watson
WHERE & WHEN: “The Bling Ring” 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival Photocall on May 16, 2013.
WEARING: Christopher Kane

MY VERDICT: I must admit that “The Bling Ring” was one of the movies I highly-anticipated covering at the Cannes Film Festival this year. I just adore Emma Watson, and I was pretty eager to see what she would wear for the press events. After rocking a casually chic Louis Vuitton jacket and skirt while hitting the interview circuit yesterday, the English actress joined her costars for the photocall late this morning in an adorable bordeaux Christopher Kane crop top and matching skirt.

The two-piece silk duchesse ensemble comes from the designer’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection; it features matching burgundy silk petals that line the bottom of the top as well as the panels of the a-line skirt.

I think this was the perfect daytime look for Emma. The style fit her petite figure and eclectic attitude towards fashion while also being a gorgeous and rich color against her complexion. I also love the fact that she brought the crop tops to the French Riviera in a youthful yet elegant way. I think the shoes could be better suited, but black classic pumps were her footwear of choice.

This look was complete with a swept up-do and minimal makeup.

Mia Wasikowska in Christopher Kane | “Stoker” London Screening

WHO: Mia Wasikowska
WHERE & WHEN: “Stoker” Special Screening in London on February 17, 2013.
WEARING: Christoper Kane dress, Jimmy Choo shoes

MY VERDICT: Mia hit the green carpet in a violet and black ensemble, which boldly consisted of an a-line velvet colorblock dress from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection by Christopher Kane. I love the style—especially the peter pan collar. It’s young and hip, but there’s also a ladylike rebellion about it that I dig. I can’t say that I’m loving Mia’s hair being swept up with her blunt bangs on display to give off a “bowl haircut” appearance, but I don’t mind the opaque tights and matching Jimmy Choo suede pumps. After all, it is February in London. That being said, I do think going sans tights with an ankle strap pump like the model would have been more fun. I’m just glad Mia didn’t wear purple shoes with those tights.

Phoebe Tonkin in Christopher Kane | “Warm Bodies” Hollywood Premiere

WHO: Phoebe Tonkin
WHERE & WHEN: “Warm Bodies” Hollywood premiere on January 29, 2013.
WEARING: Christopher Kanedress

MY VERDICT:  Phoebe hit the red carpet to support her best friend Teresa Palmer, and her new romantic zombie movie “Warm Bodies”.  The Australian actress added a vibrant contrast to the red-and-white decorative backdrop in a bright blue, navy and silver silk-blend floral brocade dress by Christopher Kane, from the designer’s Spring 2012 collection. The v-neck dress featured spliced detailing and a cutout hemline.   I love the get-up-and-go feel of this look, because it’s so effortless and yet so pretty and well-put together.  Phoebe simply wore her hair out in smooth strands before finishing the look with a silver envelope clutch and complimenting blue ankle strap sandals.  Well done.

Britney Spears in Christopher Kane | Fox’s “The X Factor” Viewing Party

Britney Spears in Christopher Kane | Fox's 'The X Factor' Viewing PartyPhotos: Zimbio; Style.com; Saks Fifth Avenue
Britney Spears constantly has me wondering if she has a stylist.  Granted the pop singer seems to be doing (and looking) better these days, but she continues to go out on the red carpet in ill-fitting looks that do more harm than good to her.

The “X Factor” judge attended a special viewing party for the FOX show last night in Los Angeles wearing a super short dress and big shoes!  It’s not that I dislike her black leather floral Christopher Kane dress; this Fall 2010 collection was one of my favorites.  It’s more-so the fact that the dress is too tight at her chest, it cuts off at the widest part of her leg, and she partnered it with chunky dark red burnished Miu Miu platform sandals that didn’t help. | continue reading..

Aubrey Plaza in Christopher Kane | 2012 ALMA Awards

“Parks and Recreation” star Aubrey Plaza hit the red carpet on Sunday night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium for the 2012 NCLR ALMA Awards looking pretty in iridescent pink.

Aubrey wore a plunging neck, shimmering pale pink brocade cocktail dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Christopher Kane, which featured asymmetric paneling at the skirt.

She styled her brunette locks in a soft wave and wore pretty drop earrings. I love the way she complimented her dress with the perfect shoe! Aubrey wore satin crisscross sandals in the same color as her dress.

Cover Girl: Emma Stone’s Intergalactic Style for Interview’s September Fashion Issue!

Cover Girl: Emma Stone's Electric 1980's Style for Interview's September Fashion Issue!Photographed by Mikael Jansson for Interview; Styling: Karl Templer; Make-Up: Mark Carrasquillo; Hair: Paul Hanlon; Manicure: Deborah Lippmann
Holy moly!

EMMA STONE is quite literally ‘out-of-this-world’ for the September cover of Interview Magazine, which is dubbed “The Fashion Issue”. Mikael Jansson photographed the “Gangster Squad” actress in a series of nightclub and alleyway locations that look like they are set in the 1980s — in outer space! Seriously, this editorial is trippy and fabulous!

Karl Templer styled Emma in various bad-ass threads from the Fall/Winter 2012 runways by Christopher Kane, Lanvin, Versace, Balenciaga, Haider Ackermann and YSL, while hairstylist Paul Hanlon gave her an extraterrestrial-inspired sleek hairstyle to compliment her intense smoky eyes — courtesy of makeup artist  Mark Carrasquillo.

Director and producer Cameron Crowe interviewed Emma for the issue, where she opened up about all of her acting gigs, her first heartbreak, her public image, her likes and dislikes — and much, much more.

Her thoughts on expressing herself in interviews: “In general I get nervous when I do print interviews because I know that whatever I say is going to be shown through the lens of whomever I’m talking to. So I’ve read a lot of different versions of myself—and all of them are true because it’s all opinion and they’re as accurate as it can ever be. But I don’t think that I’ve been deft at hiding parts of my personality. I have not mentioned parts of my life, for sure—although I have talked about my childhood more now and anxiety and that side of myself. I don’t think that people would expect that I would have panic attacks . . . Or I don’t know if they would, because I don’t know what people expect of me. I have no idea.”

On filming her new movie, “Gangster Squad”: Working with Sean [Penn] was pretty cool. There was a moment when Sean did an impression of the guy he was in jail next to, and then I realized I was working with Sean Penn, because he became the guy he was in jail next to. You hear people do a voice, but his entire body . . . He turned into this terrifying guy with this tiny voice who was talking about his cat. I was like, “Holy sh-t. This guy is touched by something.”

The fashion is incredibly fierce, which goes perfectly with Emma’s otherworldly look. | continue reading..

After commanding a coveted spot on a September fashion magazine cover in an array of feminine pink frocks, GWEN STEFANI returns to her exuberant style roots with a editorial in the October issue of ELLE UK that’s bursting in colorful prints and textures.

The No Doubt front-woman was photographed by Matt Irwin wearing a collection of lively looks by designers like Christopher Kane, Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou — straight from the Fall 2012 runway! Never one to wear a lot of make-up, except rocking a popping pout, Gwen’s natural beauty shined behind chic lined eyes, pink lips and her platinum blonde tresses swept back from her face.

For the cover of the issue, Gwen wears a Pilotto blue-and-black cutout peplum abstract top over a colorful floral appliqué black tulle ballerina skirt from the Alexander McQueen diffusion label McQ.

This quirky pairing made for a cover look that was perfect for Gwen!

Kate Moss looked incredible in her wide v-neck, short sleeve gown that was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The creation shimmered as she moved, but thanks to the official Twitter for the fashion house — we were able to get a detailed look at the gorgeous embellishing.

Naomi Campbell also wore a Alexander McQueen bespoke dress by Sarah Burton. She showed off her famous long legs in a sparkling 3D embellished mullet gown, which was inspired by the Spring/Summer 2012 collection, and featured cutouts at the shoulder of the high-neck frock. This look wouldn’t have been complete without her matching metallic McQueen platform sandals. | continue reading..

Cover Girl: Mila Kunis in the Summer’s Hottest Denim for Glamour’s August Issue!

Cover Girl: Mila Kunis in the Summer's Hottest Denim for Glamour's August Issue!Photographed by: Alexei Hay for Glamour; Fashion Editor: Anne Christensen
MILA KUNIS covers another magazine for the month of August and after going full-on glam for one summer issue it’s nice to see her take more a casual approach for the latest from Glamour.

Alexei Hay photographed the “Ted” actress sitting on a brick rooftop wearing a “Texas tuxedo” (denim on denim) with a little bohemian flair courtesy of her embellished wide brim hat. Anne Christensen styled Mila in a Club Monaco denim shirt with a pair of skinny Current/Elliott jeans — and that hat I know you’re totally oogling is by Rag & Bone. She accessorized with a Minor Obsessions star necklace, which was layered with a key pendant necklace by Elisa Solomon Jewelry. With a Cartier bracelet and a thick Michael Kors ring, this cover look was complete.

In the issue, Mila chatted with Logan Hill about everything from online dating to loving her new/old body!

On her affinity for online dating: “One of my really good friends met her fiance on an OkCupid-style website. OkCupid’s really popular–all my girlfriends have joined. I love those sites. I go on and I pick the guys for my friends. I think it’s great.”

On being romantically linked to celebs in the tabloids: “Ninety-nine percent of it is bulls–t. That is the biggest form of bullying ever, the paparazzi. Printing lies, making accusations, it’s just bullying.”  | continue reading..
