MY VERDICT: Amanda selected to wear a very beautiful silk peach dress from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which features metallic embellished panels beginning at the halter neckline and continuing until the loose hem of the skirt.  I wouldn’t want to alter the dress in any way, but considering Amanda’s height, she could have afforded to take off a few inches to simply achieve the silhouette from the runway where it ends just below the knee.  As for her shoes? I totally support her choice of pewter strappy Alexandre Birman “Sally” sandals.  Amanda’s long strawberry blonde tresses were styled in pretty ringlets before she completed her look with a raspberry pout. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Angela Bassett walked the black carpet in style as she showed off her killer toned shoulders in a black, body-hugging strapless stretch crepe gown by THEIA.  This super sleek design, from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection, features a shimmering sequin full-length inset at the front and center.  Not only was the “This Means War” star working the heck out of this dress, but she was rocking a seriously fierce hairstyle.  I love that spiky pixie cut!  Angela brought glamour and edginess together, and she aced them both.  This look was completed with a black clutch and flawless makeup.

MY VERDICT: Jessica kicked off a week of award shows when she attended last night’s National Board of Review ceremony in a black sleeveless cocktail dress by Alexander McQueen. The silk design fell to the ankle and featured a beautiful gold embroidered necklace that looked like she was wearing a built-in statement necklace.  The “Zero Dark Thirty” wore her ginger tresses up to put extra focus on that detail, before elegantly completing her look with a gold cuff bracelet and a pair of black satin “Daphne” open toe Charlotte Olympia platform pumps. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Emily gave us minimalist chic last night when she attended the National Board of Review cocktail awards gala wearing a fabulous little nude Emilio Pucci dress. The “Looper” actress rocked an off-runway Fall 2012 number, which features cutouts at the shoulders and waist. This fit Emily’s figure like a dream, and I love how her loose light tresses and soft makeup helped create a heavenly blush palette.  She finished with gorgeous rose gold metallic pumps. A++

MY VERDICT: Was Anne Hathaway channeling the menswear of her movie “Les Misèrables” when she hit the black carpet in this tuxedo from the Saint Laurent Spring 2013 collection.  I really want to like it on her, but it’s not working out too well.  It’s not a lost cause, I just found the pussy bow to be too overwhelming on Anne.  | continue reading..

After stepping out for the Gotham Independent Film Awards the previous evening, you’d think Allison Williams might want to stay last night—but no, the “Girls” actress got glam once again for the annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball, which was held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

While I found her last look to be on the aging side, I see nothing but great things happening with this seafoam lace and silver shimmer sequin-embroidered long sleeved Naeem Khan gown that Allison slipped on for the ball. The sleek Spring 2013 dress is a mesmerizing beauty that complimented Allison in every way that you hope a dress will; she kept warm while showcasing her curves and allowing for her long cascading brunette curls to flow freely without distracting from the design.

Allison completed her look with metallic smoky eyes, a diamond cocktail ring, gold heels and a putty grey lacquered manicure.

Selita Ebanks stunned in a red gown on the blue carpet when she attended the 2012 UNICEF Snowflake Ball. The gorgeous 29-year-old model wore a fluttering Romona Keveza strapless silk organza and silk crepe gown with an asymmetric bodice, from the designer’s Fall/Winter 2012 evening collection.

The vivid red popped against Selita’s rich complexion and I adore the one tone darker shade of her glossy ruby lipstick. Although Selita had prominent bronze eye make-up, it didn’t overpower nor compete with her pout. | continue reading..

Kate Mara looked beautiful last night for the 2012 UNICEF Snowflake Ball, held at Cipriani 42nd Street, where she donned a vibrant coral sleeveless silk-chiffon long dress by Jason Wu.

This non-presented Resort 2013 floor-length design featured an attached delicate Chantilly lace tromp l’oeil mini dress underneath, which was faintly visible through the sheer colorful fabric that was tucked into a silver metallic belt.

The 20-year-old actress-turned-singer looked so grown up and glamorous in her halterneck body-conscious vintage Dolce & Gabbana black gown, which featured velvet panels that were bordered with absolutely stunning gold bead work, rubies and crystals.
