MY VERDICT: I was really disappointed in this choice of color. Melissa’s platinum silk jersey long sleeve gown was designed by David Meister, and featured an asymmetric neckline and beaded accents on the shoulders and sleeves.  It’s pretty obvious that the dress was ill-fitting, but I don’t think it would have been so bad if it was in a midnight blue. Sometimes the color can throw everything off, and for me, I think it was the gray that became the wrong turn. Not only did it emphasize imperfections, but the shade was dull and washed her out.  I liked Melissa’s accessories, but the height of her hair was another “No”.

Busy Philipps proudly displayed her growing belly in a custom made Gabriela Cadena navy blue long sleeve silk dress.  The “Cougar Town” actress, who recently announced her second pregnancy added some boldness to her look with a colorful one-of-a-kind Irene Neuwirth statement necklace and a matching embellished clutch by Judith Leiber.  A scarlet red lip, gathered mane and Brian Atwood “Stearling” shoes were the finishing touches.

Alexis Bledel like Jessica Pare, the 31-year-old actress also opted to wear a brilliant shade of emerald green at the SAGs this year. I love the color and pleated detailing of her structured Rena Lange dress, and the way her beautiful vintage House of Lavende colorful crystal necklace sat amongst the deep v-neckline. MY VERDICT: I like how Jane toughened up her usual classic style for the SAG Awards by adding in a little cutaway leather.  The “Glee” star, who looked very elegant in a deep blue gown last year, changed things up this time around, and turned to David Meister once again for a custom gown made of silk-chiffon with a leather bodice embroidered with gold metal studs.  This isn’t something I would imagine her wearing, but she pulls it off well.  With a little volume in her short blonde locks, Jane completed her look with gold hoop earrings and a matching bangle.

Jewel looked pretty in pink when she arrived for the 2012 American Country Awards last night in Las Vegas wearing a shimmering single-shoulder cocktail dress by David Meister.

The style and color was a great choice for the singer, but it’s actually the subtle draped detail at the waist that I loved the most. Although the shortened length gave us a great shoe view of her nude Gucci d’Orsay pumps, considering they were just a neutral color, I actually wish this dress had been floor-length. | continue reading..

You’ve become more than acquainted with the cast members of the “Twilight” saga over the years, but with a power-house finale film like “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ where we’re introduced to an army of new on-screen vampires to love—let’s just say the black carpet at the Hollywood premiere last week was jam packed!  Amongst the attendees at the star-studded celebration were several new faces, old friends and beloved directors of the past.

Let’s break down some of the looks a few vamped up ladies were rocking that night!

Mía Maestro, who stars as the vampy Carmen, looked beautiful in black silk strapless column gown by Gucci with a black velvet and metallic gold floral embellishment at the belted waist.  This design is very reminiscent of a white dress presented with the Resort 2012 collection.  Mia wore her long brunette curls up in a glamorous woven up ‘do before completely her look with sultry smoky eyes, gold jewelry and a metallic box minaudière.

Tracey Heggins was a vision in red! Rocking her swept pixie haircut, the on-screen vampire looked full of life in a strapless scarlet red gown by Kevan Hall.  Tracey lathered her lips with a ruby lipstick before completing her look with darker accessories.  She wore black pointed toe pumps, carried a BCBGMAXAZRIA clutch and topped it all off with a metallic Tory Burch wide cuff.

Sarah Clarke stars as Kristen Stewart‘s on-screen mother in the franchise, but this mama shined on her own in a sparkling Pamella Roland dress.  | continue reading..

Morena Baccarin: The “Homeland” actress rocked a plunging neck strapless grey dress with pleating at the bust and hips. I thought she pushed the risk of a “wardrobe malfunction”, but thankfully Morena had an illusion inset within the v-neck opening. Red lips, bold diamond jewelry and a pewter minaudière were the finishing touches to Morena’s Emmys look.

Glenn Close: After completely falling in love with Glenn’s look at the Oscars this year, I was excited to see what she would wear to the Emmys. The “Damages” actress wore a Bibhu Mohapatra printed long-sleeve mermaid gown with black sheer draped panels at the skirt and all over sharp details layered throughout the rest. I may have felt differently about the dress on someone else, but it did absolutely nothing for me on Glenn. She accessorized with a pair of satin “Anya” sandals by Dana Davis.

Gretchen Mol: Unless you’re wearing black (or black-and-white), you run a risk wearing a monochrome look on the red carpet. At least if it’s all the same shade of one color. I’m surprised with how much I loved what Gretchen wore. | continue reading..

Rachael Leigh Cook was a true golden girl on Friday night when she worked the pre-Emmy party circuit, including a stop at Scarpetta to attend the Variety And Women In Film Pre-Emmy Event.

The “Perception” star rocked a sequined gold metallic lace dress with a cut-out back by David Meister.

With her brunette locks styled in full beautiful curls, Rachael finished off with hoop earrings and a matching gold bangle, a metallic evening clutch and platform peep toe champagne slingback pumps.

The 29-year-old “Partners” actress arrived with Mr. Meister in this custom silk halterneck gown, with a draping plunging neckline that tucked into a banded waist.
