MY VERDICT: Liam Hemsworth suited up nicely in Dolce & Gabbana when he joined “Catching Fire” director Francis Lawrence and his costars Jennifer Lawrence and Sam Claflin on the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of “Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian)”. Liam looks great in a suit–that should go without saying, but after continuously seeing him in long ties over the expected bow-tie for such formal events, I’d like to see him do a little different.

This time around he spruced the detail up a bit with a silver tie clip before completing the look with shiny lace up dress shoes. Thankfully we have a lot of red carpet events to expect from him this year as the next “Hunger Games” films hits theaters in November. Are you as excited as I am?

MY VERDICT: While his fiancée Miley Cyrus gets ready to rock the Billboard Music Awards this weekend with the debut of her new single, Liam Hemsworth met up with his “Catching Fire” costars Jennifer Lawrence and Sam Claflin for a press event and photocall to support the next installment of “The Hunger Games” series. The ultra-handsome Australian actor wore a Dolce & Gabbana white dress shirt tucked into black leather-belted charcoal flat front trousers.

A light dusting of scruff and neatly brushed hair helped complete his semi-casual look, which he finished with dapper shiny leather lace up shoes. I’m almost excited for Liam’s wardrobe for the press tour this fall as I am for Jennifer’s–especially after what I saw last year during the events for the first film.

MY VERDICT: Isla looked ready for a day on the French Rivieria when she joined her crew from “The Great Gatsby” at the press conference and photocall during the Cannes Film Festival before their premiere later tonight. The 37-year-old actress wore a Dolce & Gabbana white laser lace fit-and-flare dress. I like how she played with a classic silhouette, and the cutaway pattern detail gave it some edge. Although I agree with the footwear choice of an open toe platform pump, I can’t help having an issue of black shoes being partnered with solid white dresses. | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana

MY VERDICT: I was looking forward to seeing what Katy would wear at the gala this year as she had gushed about wanting to go “original punk” and picked out her dress a couple of months ago. The “Part of Me” singer arrived at the MET as the guest of Dolce & Gabbana designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana while wearing a head-to-toe ensemble from their Fall 2013 collection. I’m pretty certain that Katy’s dramatic royal rocker look was inspired by her latest fragrance “Killer Queen”, which she was promoting in New York just last week, and I found that pretty clever. MY VERDICT: I’m sure Isla left on-lookers speechless when she stepped out for the New York City premiere of “The Great Gatsby” in a gorgeous black Dolce & Gabbana silk gown with a crowd of coral and peach embroidered flowers sprinkling from the bodice and long sleeves. I love how the dress suddenly, but beautifully, transforms into a spring-ready floral lace skirt. This may be one of the best dresses the actress has ever worn.

Isla kept focus on the gown by accessorizing with coordinating black pieces; a Roger Vivier satin clutch and simple platform pumps. Small diamond drop earrings, cascading waves gathered to one side, and a punched up pink pout completed her look.

WHO: Saoirse Ronan
WHERE & WHEN: “The Host” New York City screening on March 27, 2013.
WEARING: Proenza Schouler dress, Dolce & Gabbana coat, Christian Louboutin shoes, Proenza Schouler bag & Dana Rebecca Designs jewelry.

MY VERDICT: The week isn’t over but I can officially say that Saoirse is headed towards the top of my list for my favorite look.  The 18-year-old actress joined her costars at the special New York screening of “The Host” wearing a kick-ass dress by Proenza Schouler.  Saoirse arrived in a short sleeve folded dress sporting an exciting abstract blue pattern from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection. This electric non-presented design features thick black leather trim falling asymmetrically down the center and a twisted matching belt to define her slim waist.

WHERE & WHEN: “Spring Breakers” 2013 SXSW Music – Film + Interactive Festival Premiere on March 10, 2013.

MY VERDICT: We’ve seen countless celebrities embrace and promote the midriff trend on the red carpet over the last year, but no one does it quite like Selena Gomez.  The 20-year-old actress attended the SXSW premiere of “Spring Breakers” and showed off her trim figure in a Dolce & Gabbana tropical floral bustier crop top with pale blue cup accents and a matching high-waist orange pencil skirt, both from the Spring 2013 collection.  Sel wore her long brunette locks pulled to the side in full cascading waves and brightened up her pout with a neon coral lip color.

I love how bright and vibrant the whole outfit was–it just makes me even more excited for spring and summer style! | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Olivia tried out one of the spring’s hottest trends when she took to the red carpet for the SXSW 2013 premiere of “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”.  The 29-year-old rocked bold black and white stripes with this textured midi dress by Dolce & Gabbana.  We recently saw Zoe Saldana test the pattern out in green at the Indie Spirit Awards last month, but I have to say that I’m partial to the thick strap light silhouette that Olivia selected. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: You couldn’t possibly miss Zoe on the pink carpet in her full forest green and white ensemble!  The “Nina” actress wore a striped brocade knee-length dress from the Spring 2013 collection by Dolce & Gabbana that completely matched her white Casadei pumps with green piped contrast.  To be honest, I think Zoe pulls the dress off—it actually works well on her, I’m just not into heavy stripes, and I’ve always had a hot-and-cold relationship with white shoes.  I don’t hate the look, but I don’t love it.  It is what it is.  That being said, Zoe’s hair and makeup were flawless. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT:  Is it too early to already call my favorite look for Selena Gomez on the “Spring Breakers” press tour? I’m going to go with “no” and express my love for the Dolce & Gabbana black lace bustier gown she wore.  The 20-year-old flaunted her curves in the sexy corset gown, which featured strips of satin panel embroidery that traveled down into the train.  It was so minimal and classic, but also very sexy without being overtly so.
