MY VERDICT: It was a bit sunnier tonight at the Cannes Film Festival, and part of that was due to the stunning butter yellow gown that Fan Bingbing wore the premiere of “Jeune & Jolie”. Fan glided gown the red carpet in a Elie Saab gown, from the designer’s Spring 2012 Haute Couture collection. The full skirt is obviously the major focal point of the dress, but the dazzling bead work of the three-quarter sleeve bodice doesn’t lack for luster either. What a beauty.

Fan accessorized her effortlessly glamorous ensemble with a Judith Leiber crystal clutch, Chopard heart-shaped diamond and briolette drop earrings, and a matching ring. An elegant up-do and fiery red lips were the finishing touches.

WHERE & WHEN: “The Great Gatsby” 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony on May 15, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Vahina looked beautiful in a cobalt blue dress on the red carpet for the premiere of “The Great Gatsby”, held during the opening night gala of the Cannes Film Festival. This full-length Elie Saab silk-chiffon gown comes from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection and features sexy sheer panels throughout the sophisticated draped sleeved design. While I was originally attracted to the navy version presented on the model with a gold belt, I can admit that this brighter shade and lack of waist accessory flattered both the French actresses’ complexion and curves.

Swept back hair, a matching bright blue minaudière, diamond jewelry and classic red lips completed her look.

WHO: Zoe Saldana
WHERE & WHEN: “Star Trek Into Darkness” Mexico City premiere on May 7, 2013.

MY VERDICT: I thought I would be practically in a fashion coma after the MET gala carpet last night, but thankfully my excitement for Zoe Saldana on the red carpet for the Mexico City premiere of “Star Trek Into Darkness” the next night was not dimmed.

She wore a jumpsuit!

By now you should know my major affection for pantsuits, and therefore you’re probably not surprised that Zoe’s white Elie Saab long sleeve jumpsuit is one of my favorite looks from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection. WHO: Nina Dobrev
WHERE & WHEN: John Varvatos 10th Annual Stuart House Benefit on March 10, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Nina must seriously treat every red carpet like her own personal catwalk because this girl continues to look fantastic from head-to-toe everywhere she goes.  The “Perks of Being a Wallflower” actress arrived for the John Varvatos 10th annual Stuart House Benefit in Los Angeles in a beautiful fit-and-flare Elie Saab Spring 2013 dress; a cream and grey sleeveless cocktail design with lace bust detail and a ladylike tiered skirt that hit just below the knee.  This was a flattering shape for Nina’s long lithe figure that didn’t overwhelm her frame, and was ‘dressy’ enough for the daytime event without being overdone.

She accessorized with complimenting light grey Pollini t-strap sandals and a silver Jimmy Choo clutch.  Nina was clearly having a great hair day, and as for her makeup? Flawless.

WHERE & WHEN: 85th Academy Awards on February 24, 2013.
WEARING: Elie Saab Haute Couture dress, Daniel Swarovski clutch

MY VERDICT: Sandra looked sensational on the red carpet for the 2013 Oscars as she graced us with a beautiful Elie Saab black gown, from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture line.  The cap sleeve design featured full beaded embroidery and lace panel elements.  If you saw the Oscar Wish List I did, you’ll know that this exact dress was one I had hoped to see this year.  To say that I’m thrilled that it was not only worn, but donned by someone as beautiful as Sandra, would be an understatement.

Not much else was needed to be done with such a detailed dress, therefore Sandra simply accessorized with a vintage Swarovski clutch, a diamond clip in her sleek tresses, matching diamond stud earrings, and smoky eyes paired with a nude pout.

WHO: Taylor Swift
WHERE & WHEN: The BRIT Awards 2013 on February 20, 2013.
WEARING: Elie Saab dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes & Neil Lane jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Taylor and Jessie J were matching at the BRIT Awards this year as both opted for black gowns with gold belts; while the English singer turned to a dramatic plunging neck, the “22″ songstress gave us a little leg with strategically placed sheer panels at the maxi skirt of her Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2013 design.  Sheer insets made a reappearance at the shoulders of Taylor’s sleeveless bodice.  Granted, I wish the upper part of the dress fit Tay a little more snug—but, it should go without saying that I loved this. This dress is so unique, and I’m glad that it was worn for a music celebration as it exudes such a cool vibe.

She added a little bronze on her cheeks and lips to compliment all of the metallic elements of the outfit before completing her look with sultry smoky eyes, long lightly waved tresses (still loving those bangs!), and a badass pair of Giuseppe Zanotti black sandals with gold snake detail. | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: The Launch Of Gemfields’ New Brand Ambassador on February 19, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Mila looked adorable in a flirty little lace dress when she attended the celebration of the new Gemfields Brand Ambassador; the “OZ Great and Powerful” actress is starring in the campaign for the colored gemstone mining company.  Mila wore an angelic Elie Saab white collard lace cocktail dress with a tiered skirt that matching the striped panels in the bodice, this dress comes from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection.  You may remember seeing it appear on one of my recent wish lists, and while it didn’t show up on an award ceremony red carpet—it’s obvious that it couldn’t be overlooked either.

Mila wore her long dark hair out and smooth before completing her look with matching pumps and a Victor Velyan 18k white “Patina” emerald and diamond ring.

WHO: Beyoncé
WHERE & WHEN: “Beyoncé: Life Is But A Dream” HBO Documentary New York premiere on February 12, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Beyoncé made New York City sparkle when she glided gown the red carpet for the big city premiere of her new HBO Documentary “Life Is But A Dream” wearing a stunning Elie Saab dress.  The singer selected the breathtaking, form-fitting greige embellished gown with fine floral appliqués from the Spring/Summer 2012 Haute Couture line.  This was one of my top favorite collections from Mr. Saab as it featured a true colorful spring vibe in one glittering design after another; I was particularly thrilled to see this beauty step off the runway.  Leave it up to Bey to break out a dress with sheer illusion cutouts all over the bodice!

I wonder if this was always her intended choice for the premiere, or if it was an option for the Grammys?

It’s clearly against that issued dress code, so maybe that’s why we didn’t see it on Mrs. Carter earlier.

She finished her look with super sleek tresses and a glossy candy pink pout.

WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Sarah Jessica rocked the BAFTAs this year when she stepped out in a cool jumpsuit from Elie Saab! What a way to set the trend for evening wear at major red carpet ceremonies. SJP selected her black three-quarter sleeve boat-neck one piece from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection by the designer, which also features a combo of velvet, scuba and stretch crepe panels throughout.  I’m loving it! This was cool, it was new, but most of all—it didn’t stand out like a sore thumb.  It may have taken the quick attention of all on-lookers, but it worked for the gala.

She left her long ombré tresses swept back in smooth strands before finishing with smoky eyes, layered diamond jewelry and a pair of black pointed toe Jean-Michel Cazabat d’Orsay pumps.  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Amy looked absolutely stunning in her Elie Saab Fall 2012 Haute Couture gown at the BAFTAs!  The “Master” star commanded attention on the ruby red carpet in the ultra-glamorous black long sleeve lace gown with a shimmering embroidered bodice and waist, along with a sexy draped back, and a front crepe georgette skirt with a high slit to show off her heels!  Clearly this gown has every needed detail covered.  I never would have imagined this dress for Amy, and yet it’s practically perfect.  What is with tonight being the moment all of these ladies break out their best looks? Go figure it would occur in the rain.  Then again, they say rain is good luck.  Even still, wet lace can make you very cold–especially in London during February nighttime air. | continue reading..
