Bérénice Marlohe in Donna Karan Atelier | The BRIT Awards 2013

Bérénice Marlohe in Donna Karan Atelier | The BRIT Awards 2013Photos via DKNY
WHO: Bérénice Marlohe
WHERE & WHEN: The BRIT Awards 2013 on February 20, 2013.
WEARING: Donna Karan Atelier

MY VERDICT: Bérénice flawlessly flaunted her curves as stepped out on the red carpet this year for the BRIT Awards.  The “Skyfall” actress accentuated her tiny waist in a perfectly fitted silver silk lamé Donna Karan Atelier gown, which featured draping along the bust and waist.  I love the way Bérénice gathered her dark chocolate cascading waves to one side to show off the asymmetric top of the dress with a thin strap that gives way to a sexy open back. As for her makeup, Bérénice kept her lips and cheeks neutral to highlight her intense dark smoky eyes before completing her look with diamond and ruby sapphire jewelry.

Nicole Kidman in L’Wren Scott | “Stoker” London Screening

WHO: Nicole Kidman
WHERE & WHEN: “Stoker” Special Screening in London on February 17, 2013.
WEARING: L’Wren Scott

MY VERDICT: Nicole joined her “Stoker” costar Mia Wasikowska at the London screening wearing a brand new dress from L’Wren Scott‘s Fall 2013 collection. The Australian actress selected the sleek long sleeve blue-violet silk crepe dress with an intense gold embroidered high neck. Like the models on the runway, Nicole complimented the shimmering element at the top of her dress by wearing a pair of matching metallic gold pumps. I prefer her footwear of choice to the open toe pumps paired with this design on the London Fashion Week catwalk. As not to distract, Nicole swept her ginger locks up in a loose up ‘do before finishing her look with a gold watch and matching hoop earrings.

WHO: Mia Wasikowska
WHERE & WHEN: “Stoker” Special Screening in London on February 17, 2013.
WEARING: Christoper Kane dress, Jimmy Choo shoes

MY VERDICT: Mia hit the green carpet in a violet and black ensemble, which boldly consisted of an a-line velvet colorblock dress from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection by Christopher Kane. I love the style—especially the peter pan collar. It’s young and hip, but there’s also a ladylike rebellion about it that I dig. I can’t say that I’m loving Mia’s hair being swept up with her blunt bangs on display to give off a “bowl haircut” appearance, but I don’t mind the opaque tights and matching Jimmy Choo suede pumps. After all, it is February in London. That being said, I do think going sans tights with an ankle strap pump like the model would have been more fun. I’m just glad Mia didn’t wear purple shoes with those tights.

Juno Temple in Stella McCartney | 2013 BAFTAs

Juno Temple in Stella McCartney | 2013 BAFTAsPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Juno Temple
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Stella McCartney dress, Brian Atwood shoes

MY VERDICT: While many ladies opted for black dresses at the BAFTAs this year, Juno stood out in a white v-neck Stella McCartney gown with vanilla cream panels at the skirt and black detailing at the neckline inset and waist.  I really liked the subtle sexiness of this dress–it was also very hip. Juno is only 23-years-old, therefore I’m glad she didn’t feel pressured to wear something aging just to look elegant and appropriate for the event as I feel many ladies do.

She didn’t go overboard on her makeup either, and wore her long strawberry blonde mane in tumbling curls–which unfortunately got a bit frizzy at the top due to the rain. Juno completed the look with an embroidered oversize clutch, Brian Atwood champagne satin “Anais” sandals, and a ruby red glossy manicure. | continue reading..

Henry Cavill in Tom Ford | 2013 BAFTAs

Henry Cavill in Tom Ford | 2013 BAFTAsPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Henry Cavill
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Tom Ford

MY VERDICT: Can we talk about how dapper Henry looked in his classic yet suave black Tom Ford tuxedo?  The “Man of Steel” actor, who posed with his girlfriend Gina Carano, selected a very solid formal look for the BAFTAs, which I’m sure had ladies swooning everywhere.  Even a little rain couldn’t disrupt such a fine moment.  Henry may not have taken any risks, but he does classic well; he partnered his suit with a white shirt, matching pocket square and black bow tie before finishing with shiny patent dress shoes.  Considering Henry has a big press tour coming up in a few months for the new Superman movie, I’m hoping he’ll revisit Mr. Ford for something with vivid color. I know he could pull it off.

Jennifer Garner in Roland Mouret | 2013 BAFTAs

WHO: Jennifer Garner
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Roland Mouret dress, Roger Vivier clutch & Forevermark jewelry.

MY VERDICT: It’s too bad that Jennifer isn’t promoting a movie nomination this season, because she’s had better red carpet moments in the past few weeks than she has the past few years.  Mrs. Affleck shined at the BAFTAs wearing a well-structured Roland Mouret “Alava” grey and black color-block gown.  This dress was originally seen shorten with a green skirt on the Spring 2013 runway, but I think the split peplum is better complimented by the floor-length hemline.  With her hair swept back, Jen was able to show off her long diamond Forevermark earrings that matched her bracelets.

One of my favorite parts of the look was actually her nail polish choice–I’m obsessed with that steel blue-grey color.

Elizabeth Olsen in Chanel Couture | 2013 BAFTAs

Elizabeth Olsen in Chanel Couture | 2013 BAFTAsPhotos: Zimbio; Style.com
WHO: Elizabeth Olsen
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Chanel Haute Couture dress and clutch with Chanel Fine Jewelry.

MY VERDICT: It was all about Chanel for Elizabeth, who hit the red BAFTA carpet in a black Fall 2011 Haute Couture dark blue organza peplum gown entirely embroidered with silver sequins, dark blue feathers, and organza camélias.  To be honest, I wasn’t all that crazy about this dress on the runway, but I think Lizzie is changing my mind a bit.  The 23-year-old “Very Good Girls” actress was owning it and bursting with confidence, which made the dress look better in my eyes.  I’m so glad that she didn’t try to over-do it with major hair, makeup and accessories.  With such an attention-grabbing dress, sometimes the rest of the details are best left with a subtle approach.

Lizzie simply finished with loose waves, a black clutch, matching pumps, and 18k “Profil de Camélia” and “L’Air” rings in white gold and diamonds from Chanel Fine Jewelry.

WHO: Nicholas Hoult
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Tom Ford

MY VERDICT: Nick looked incredibly handsome when he posed in the press room following the BAFTAs wearing Tom Ford.  The “Warm Bodies” actor selected a midnight navy tuxedo with black contrast lapels, a classic white dress shirt, and the dashing addition of a formal black bow tie.  I could describe why this was a great look for him, but a picture speaks a thousand words and this one is screaming.  He looks amazing.  Nick finished the look with shiny black dress shoes and just a bit of facial hair.

Perfect grooming, I’d say.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Elie Saab | 2013 BAFTAs

WHO: Sarah Jessica Parker
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Elie Saab jumpsuit, Jean-Michel Cazabat shoes, VBH clutch, a Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece, and jewelry from Fred Leighton and Fenton.

MY VERDICT: Sarah Jessica rocked the BAFTAs this year when she stepped out in a cool jumpsuit from Elie Saab! What a way to set the trend for evening wear at major red carpet ceremonies. SJP selected her black three-quarter sleeve boat-neck one piece from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection by the designer, which also features a combo of velvet, scuba and stretch crepe panels throughout.  I’m loving it! This was cool, it was new, but most of all—it didn’t stand out like a sore thumb.  It may have taken the quick attention of all on-lookers, but it worked for the gala.

She left her long ombré tresses swept back in smooth strands before finishing with smoky eyes, layered diamond jewelry and a pair of black pointed toe Jean-Michel Cazabat d’Orsay pumps.  | continue reading..

Anne Hathaway in Burberry Prorsum | 2013 BAFTAs

Anne Hathaway in Burberry Prorsum | 2013 BAFTAsPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Anne Hathaway
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Burberry Prorsum dress, Rona Pfeiffer jewelry

MY VERDICT: Poor Anne got a brunt of the rain pour when she posed on the BAFTA red carpet, so maybe it’s a good thing she wore a black gown with heavy detail at the top.  I imagine lace like Amy Adams provided much more of a shivering cold and heavy hassle.  The “Les Misérables” actress wore one of her best dresses of the past few weeks, I think, by selecting this short sleeve Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2013 gown. The cool design featured a complete silver studded bodice.  The slim fit flatters Anne’s lithe figure, and I like how she added a touch of glamour to the rock ‘n’ roll style by doubling up on Rona Pfeiffer cobblestone cuffs worn on each wrist.

Unlike yesterday, Anne’s swept bangs looked great for this event because her eye makeup wasn’t as heavy.  She added a needed pop of color with bubblegum pink lips before finishing the look with a detailed box clutch.
