Review: Essie 'Flowerista' Spring 2015 Collection

Review: Essie ‘Flowerista’ Spring 2015 Collection

The winter blues have kept me down for too long so I'm eager for spring to hop into full swing! Some gals like to celebrate a new season with their hair color or their lipstick--I get ready for the transition with my nail polish, which is why I was pretty excited to see some of the polishes from the new Essie Spring 2015 "Flowerista" Collection while I was out running errands recently. One of the coolest things about the "Flowerista" collection is that it marks the first line that Essie collaborated on with fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, the first Global Color Designer for the iconic nail polish brand. Known for her eclectic aesthetic, I'm not shocked that I instantly fell for the fun variety of colors; whether your style is classic or grunge, avant-garde or super girly, there's definitely a color I think you will dig. Check out the feedback I had to share on the colors I scooped up!

Review: Essie 'Dress To Kilt' Collection

Review: Essie ‘Dress To Kilt’ Fall 2014 Collection

Product Review

Autumn is my favorite time of year; for the slight chill in the air, for the food, for Pumpkin Spice lattes, for fashion, and--of course, for nail polish. Not only do I love the colors and the spirit of the season, but I always feel like polish looks the best on my nails during this time of year, but maybe that's due to the lack of a tan changing my natural tone or skin bitten from the harsh winter weather. This year Essie has increased my eagerness for fall with their ultra-chic new "Dress To Kilt" Collection. This gorgeous line includes 6 lush cremes in vibrant shades of seasonal favorites, includes a soft taupe, two leafy greens, a sophisticated royal cobalt, a yummy chocolate, and a siren red that's honored with the namesake of the collection. I was totally psyched when the cool team over at Essie sent me these six beauties to try out so that I could share my thoughts with all of you. I hope you take the time to enjoy my review before you rundontwalk to your nearest beauty supply store to stock up on a few bottles for yourself!

Review: Essie 'Sleek Sticks'

Review: Essie’s Sleek Sticks

Product Review

In an effort to share my love of all things hair, makeup, and nail related, I've begun to include reviews of some of the hottest new beauty lines. For the first round of reviews, I'd like to introduce you to the new Essie "Sleek Sticks" nail appliqué collection from their Nail Effects line. Essie kindly sent them over for me to try out and share my thoughts with you on how well they work. If you've never tried nail appliques--in a nutshell--they are basically stickers for your nails. Quite frankly, when I first heard Essie was doing some I was a bit apprehensive to test them out as my experience in the past with other brands had more misses than hits. However, I LOVE Essie polish ,so I figured I'd give them it a go...plus the designs really caught my eye. Essie Sleek Stick nail appliques, come in a variety of designs (12 to be exact, and listed at the bottom of this post); they are UV cured and said to last up to 10 days. In my history with other appliques: they usually don't last more than a day without at least a little lifting. I didn't have these on long enough to test out the wear time, but I've heard they are the best with staying on and you can get a good 4-5 days out of them. Let's get to it!
