Amidst a colorful spring backdrop of fresh flowers Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated “L’Icona”, an online project curated by photographer, Claiborne Swanson Frank, which officially launched on May 1st and celebrates the 35th anniversary of their iconic “Vara” pump. The “Vara” was first introduced in 1978, and has since become one of the most recognized shoes in the fashion word. The iconic shoe features a mid-heel with a grosgrain bow and gold plaque bearing the Ferragamo logo.

The McKittrick Hotel in New York City–home of Punchdrunk’s SLEEP NO MORE, was filled with guests from music to film–and of course–runway, who took part in the fête that featured DJ entertainment from Alexandera Richards and a performance by Sophie Auster.  | continue reading..

Piper Perabo was bursting with color when she stepped out on the pink carpet last night for Salvatore Ferragamo‘s dinner, celebrating the launch of the new “Signorina” fragrance.

The “Covert Affairs” actress arrived at NYC’s Palazzo Chupi in a top a skirt from the Spring 2012 collection; an aqua longsleeve satin blouse with a center split with tied details and a matching purple and aqua animal printed wrap skirt.

Piper passed on the sexy color-block sandals from the collection, but she still complimented her look by wearing pretty purple satin double platform Ferragamo pumps.

I really liked this one her, but I would have loved it more if she had left those long wavy tresses out rather than brushed up. She completed her look with a vibrant orange-red pout.
