MY VERDICT: Carey Mulligan may have opted for a softer shade at the premiere of “The Great Gatsby”, but her co-star made an attempt to spice up the red carpet in a gown to match. Isla attended the opening ceremony gala wearing an Oscar de la Renta carnation bouquet lace sweetheart gown with a full ruffled skirt. A similar style was presented during the Bridal 2014 collection by the designer. The dress is fun and it fits Isla very well, but while I don’t dislike it, I guess I was just expecting something really unique and memorable for this particular event. I feel like different versions of this dress have been worn too many times.

Frankly, if it even carried the same full shape of the Bridal line design pictured above, it would have made a bigger impact.

Isla styled her hair in celebrity-favorite cascading waves before finishing her look with gold jewelry from Bulgari. In fact, I think my favorite part of this whole outfit would that stunning 18kt yellow gold statement necklace that’s filled with blue topazes, amethysts, green tourmalines, peridots, citrine quartz, rhodolite garnets and pavé diamonds. Simply breathtaking.

MY VERDICT: Repping the music of “The Great Gatsby”, Florence Welch of the band Florence + the Machine celebrated the premiere of the movie during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony gala tonight in head-to-toe Miu Miu. The “Over the Love” singer hit the red carpet in a pink ensemble Barbie would pass out over from the Fall 2013 collection. The three-quarter sleeve silk taffeta dress features black polka dots and finishes with chantilly lace that stands out against the pastel canvas.

Frankly, a dress this ‘loud’ is a difficult one to pull off for even the biggest fashion overachiever, but leave it up to Florence to take it on anyway. It’s not my cup of tea, and while I want to think of it as a cool option for her–I think this is one of those times redheads should avoid pink. | continue reading..

As the Florence + the Machine tour moves along, lead singer Florence Welch continues to grace us with one beautiful Gucci look after another. But, you won’t hear me complaining about that.

On Friday, the English alternative band performs at during Day 1 of the 2012 Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas where Flo hit the stage to belt out some hits wearing, yet another, customized version of her favorite Fall/Winter 2012 gown.

Florence wore the ruffle trim long-sleeve silk georgette dress, but with the gorgeous jade green and black floral pattern that was used for a halterneck design during the runway presentation.

She kept the velvet belt, unlike before, and I like that the neckline opening is closed.

What a way to bring a touch of glamour to an outdoor concert festival!

As usual, I loved this on her — especially with her “Heidi braid” hairstyle; a trend that is kind of growing on me.

After taking a break to attend the Proenza Schouler fashion show last month, English singer Florence Welch went back on the road to tour with her band Florence + the Machine across the United States.

The 26-year-old front-woman has been wearing a lot of Gucci during her shows, and I want to tell you about the latest two gowns from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection I spied her in.

For a performance on September 21nd in Raleigh, North Carolina, Florence took the stage at the Red Hat Amphitheater where she looked gorgeous in a bordeaux silk-chiffon pleated gown, which features velvet paneling at the high neck, bodice and waist as well as the cuffs of her billowing sleeves. | continue reading..

Florence Welch stepped out in a dramatic black gown when she attended Britain Creates 2012: Fashion & Art Collusion VIP gala on Tuesday night in London, England.

The “Never Let Me Go” singer and Florence + the Machine front-woman arrived at Old Selfridges Hotel wearing a sheer black gown from the Fall 2012 Bespoke collection by Julien Macdonald. This plunging neck design featured illusion long sleeves that were completely embellished and a floor-length sheer skirt that was layered over a solid micro mini skirt.

Florence is never boring on the red carpet, which I think is something we can all respect and look forward to.

She complimented this look with a red lips, satin flap over tassel clutch and a pair of matching Christian Louboutin sandals, the sexy ankle wrapped “Vampanodo”, which you can take a closer look at here.

The Florence + the Machine front-woman selected this Fall 2012 burgundy silk georgette long sleeved pleated gown with asymmetrical neckline and cascading ruffle detail, but opted not to wear the black velvet belt seen on the runway.
