The 2nd Annual Gucci Award for Women in Cinema ceremony took place during the 2012 Venice International Film Festival on Friday, August 31st, and was presented to winner Thelma Schoonmaker.

Schoonmaker won for the editing of the Martin Scorsese-directed 2011 film “HUGO”. Her fellow nominees included, Colleen Atwood (costume designer, “Snow White and the Huntsman”), Nadine Labaki (director, “Where Do We Go Now?”), Brit Marling (actor, “Another Earth”), and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (director, “Saving Face”).

For the swanky soirée, held at the Hotel Cipriani, Gucci Creative Director and ceremony juror Frida Giannini was joined by all of the mentioned nominees, presenter Salma Hayek-Pinault and many other celebrity and socialite attendees — and, of course, everyone was wearing Gucci. | continue reading..

This fall may be the kick off of the final season of her hit television show “Gossip Girl”, but Blake Lively is keeping her summer busy and eventful with a new movie and a hot new fragrance campaign with Gucci!

The chic Italian fashion house announced today that the 24-year-old actress would be the face of the new Gucci Première fragrance for women, and will star in a short film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn to promote the House’s scent.

Frida Giannini, Gucci’s Creative Director spoke out about having Blake represent the fragrance, “In conceiving this fragrance I was inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood’s golden era.
