Naomi Watts in Armani Privé | 2013 Oscars

Naomi Watts in Armani Privé | 2013 OscarsPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Naomi Watts
WHERE & WHEN: 85th Academy Awards on February 24, 2013.
WEARING: Armani Privé dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, Roger Vivier clutch & Neil Lane jewelry.

MY VERDICT: I may have had Naomi pegged for jewel-tone color at the Oscars this year, but the “Impossible” actress was thinking more along the lines of shimmering metals.  Naomi hit the garnet carpet for the ceremony, where she was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role, wearing a custom-made Armani Privé gown.  The form-fitting asymmetric design was enveloped in layered gunmetal grey sequins, and featured a single cap sleeve, a cutaway element on the opposite side, and a sexy low-dipping open back.

All in all, I thought the dress was cool—but something felt off, like it needed to either be strapless or cap-sleeved entirely. As for Naomi’s hair, she was one of the few stars who really did something with it and I appreciated that.  The loose swept back chignon was stunning, but I believe it would’ve been best with a much more regal gown.  It’s as if she was wearing two different looks.  Soft makeup and Neil Lane drop earrings helped provide the finishing touches.

Jessica Chastain in Armani Privé | 2013 Oscars

WHO: Jessica Chastain
WHERE & WHEN: 85th Academy Awards on February 24, 2013.
WEARING: Giorgio Armani Privé dress, Christian Louboutin shoes & Harry Winston jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Jessica was simply heavenly on the Oscars red carpet in her custom made Armani Privé copper-toned silk satin strapless corset gown with sparkling embroidery.  It should go without saying that the “Zero Dark Thirty” played it a bit safe compared to what she could have worn, but I would be totally lying if I said I didn’t like this.  Jessica looked divine, and as I predicted, she was definitely giving nods to old Hollywood glamour—and it was appreciated, at least by me.

A side-parted mane with sculpted curls were accented by diamond earrings, a matching bracelet, and a siren red pout.

Bravo, Miss Chastain!

Christa B. Allen in Rafael Cennamo | 2013 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Christa B. Allen in Rafael Cennamo | 2013 Costume Designers Guild AwardsPhotos: Zimbio; WWD
WHO: Christa B. Allen
WHERE & WHEN: 15th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards on February 19, 2013.
WEARING: Rafael Cennamo dress, Armani shoes

MY VERDICT: Christa must have felt like a princess when she hit the grey carpet for the Costume Designers Guild Awards in her gold baroque embroidered brocade cocktail dress by Rafael Cennamo.  The “Revenge” actress scored the brand new flared dress from the recently presented Fall 2013 collection by the designer, which featured stunning lace embroidery along the neck and back over illusion tulle material.  This dress is seriously a work of art, but I am torn on whether or not I dig the tea-length silhouette on Christa, or if I prefer the fit on the model with a little more to the leg.

Christa sharply paired her dress with unembellished satin Armani strappy sandals, but I am so disappointed by her hairstyle.  I definitely think this look called for an up-do—whether it be a chignon, ponytail or a twisted ‘undone’ bun.

Jodie Foster in Armani Privé | 2013 Golden Globes

Jodie Foster in Armani Privé | 2013 Golden GlobesPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Jodie Foster
WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.
WEARING: Armani Privé dress, Giorgio Armani shoes, Judith Leiber bag, and Graziela, Broken English & Martin Katz jewelry.

MY VERDICT: You know that term “fifty and fabulous”? Well, that’s applies to Jodie Foster, who stepped out on the red carpet last night to attend the Golden Globes where she was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award, for lifetime achievement in motion pictures, looking amazing in a Giorgio Armani shimmering couture design.  Jodie wore a navy blue crystal embellished column dress with embellished crisscrossing straps.  The dress is pretty all on its own, but it’s Jodie’s smooth bob haircut and flawless makeup that helped make her look quite magical for such a memorable night.

WHO: Jennifer Lawrence
WHERE & WHEN: 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on January 10, 2013.
WEARING: Prabal Gurung gown, Roger Vivier bag, Jimmy Choo shoes & Chopard jewelry.

MY VERDICT:  Wow, Jen completely made me forget about her less-than-stellar PCA look yesterday when she hit the red carpet tonight in this dark beauty!  The “Silver Linings Playbook” actress arrived for the CCMA ceremony wearing a black matte jersey gown from Prabal Gurung‘s new Pre-Fall 2013 collection, which features a hand-draped silk chiffon peplum bodice, a leather belted waist and a full silk chiffon train. I had been hoping to see Jen in a look from this line, so that was the first high point of her selected dress this evening—the second being how incredible she was in it! | continue reading..

Amy Adams in Giorgio Armani | Gotham Independent Film Awards 2012

Amy Adams in Giorgio Armani | Gotham Independent Film Awards 2012Photos: Zimbio; Brian Atwood
Amy Adams worked a sexy asymmetric velvet dress last night when she stepped out on the red carpet at Cipriani Wall Street for the IFP’s 22nd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City.

The “On The Road” actress bared some skin in a strapless Giorgio Armani cocktail dress; a black crepe and velvet mix, which fell just below her knees as a sharp split angle shot across her left shoulder and layered peplum created a nice curve.

I really loved this dress on Amy, and although I normally would have preferred a sleek sandal or stiletto pump–I really like her black satin “Zenith” pumps by Brian Atwood. | continue reading..

Peter Facinelli in Giorgio Armani | “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ NYC Screening

Peter Facinelli in Giorgio Armani | 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2' NYC ScreeningPhotos: Zimbio
Peter Facinelli was fall ready and totally dapper late last week when he stepped out for the New York City screening for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″, his final premiere event to celebrate the incredibly successful vampire movie series, which has been a major part of his life and career for the last five years. What a whirlwind!

The 38-year-old actor, who plays Carlisle Cullen—the patriarch member of the on-screen vampire family, wore a dark smoked grey Giorgio Armani single-button suit with peaked lapels and flap front pockets and matching slim fit trousers.
Peter wore a classic white dress shirt, but he dressed this look up with a beautiful navy silk-satin tie with dark bronze diagonal stripes and a luxurious grey scarf wore as a nice shawl beneath his jacket.

He complimented the tones in the tie with a brown leather belt and matching suede lace-up shoes.

I loved this look on him; it was even better than his Hollywood premiere look. It actually kind of reminded me of what Peter wore to the premiere in LA last year for “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″. He must really love the scarf look; I can dig it.

“Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ is in theaters now!

What did you think of Peter’ smoky grey Armani suit?

Hayden Panettiere looked like a little pixie fairy when she stepped out on the red carpet last night for the 2012 American Music Awards wearing a shimmering pearl mini dress by Giorgio Armani!

The “Nashville” star, who presented during the ceremony alongside rapper 50 Cent, looked every bit the superstar in this sweetheart neck floaty dress, which featured gold double straps that twisted together at the shoulder into a intricate crisscross open back design. | continue reading..

GQ Men of the Year: Top 10 Best Dressed Men

GQ Men of the Year: Top 10 Best Dressed MenL-R: James Van Der Beek, Ben McKenzie, James Marsden, Lamorne Morris and Ryan Kwanten | Photos: Zimbio
There were many, many ladies on the black carpet on Tuesday night to honor the fellas of the 2012 GQ Men of the Year party, which there’s a full run-down of—but, let’s get to the main subject of the night—all those well-dressed men! Honestly, I’ve never seen so many dashing guys in all one place; it was really hard to narrow down my Top 10 favorites. Where there is a will, there’s a way… and when there’s colorful and printed suits in the way, I have that will.

So, let me break it down—and then I’ll leave it your hands to vote on this one.

James Van Der Beek: I could quite possibly run out of compliments for the blue Knot Standard for Confederacy suit the “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23″ star wore, but that won’t stop me from trying. I love the rich hue on James; it’s something I’m not use to seeing him wear, but props to his stylist because this was a real winner. It was a brilliant fit; it complimented his complexion and light hair while bringing out his eye color. The mixture of the black-and-white gingham shirt and striped tie just gave it that extra boost of character that I love so much.

Ben McKenzie: IT’S RED, YOU GUYS. He wore red. Somebody call Robert Pattinson and tell him Ben McKenzie stole his look. No, wait–don’t do that. The more the merrier. Although I think Ben should have left those buttons closed on his Ted Baker maroon suit, with black two-tone lapels, that won’t stop me from totally gushing over this. What a gorgeous shade of red; he wore it well. | continue reading..

GQ Magazine held their annual Men of the Year part on Tuesday night and brought out some of the most popular men in film, television, music and sports—along with some beautiful ladies like Rashida Jones, who hit the black carpet in some fierce leopard printed heels!

The “Celeste and Jesse Forever” actress rocked a little menswear inspired get-up, which included a white collared blouse from the Resort 2013 collection by Marni, with beaded embroidery going down the central closure panel. | continue reading..
