Hayden Panettiere in HALSTON Heritage | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Hayden Panettiere in HALSTON Heritage | 2013 Billboard Music AwardsPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Hayden Panettiere
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: HALSTON Heritage dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a Jimmy Choo clutch & David Yurman jewelry.

MY VERDICT: For a girl who parades around in sparkly dresses for her performances on the hit ABC show “Nashville” every week and often wears the same for major events, I have to say that I was pretty surprised to see Hayden in such a demure gown at the Billboard Music Awards. The 23-year-old petite actress arrived on the blue carpet wearing a black Halston Heritage halterneck column gown with tiered layers, from the Spring 2013 collection.

This dress was very pretty—especially on Hayden, but it almost felt too elegant for the music ceremony. Regardless, it was both unexpected and completely welcomed. I thought Hayden looked beautiful.

She kept her accessories on the minimal side opting for gold starburst earrings by David Yurman that matched her oval clutch. Soft makeup–with the exception of electric aqua lined eyes and cascading golden curls, which were pinned on the side and adorned with sparkling rhinestones helped provide the finishing touches.

Alice Eve in Zuhair Murad | “Star Trek Into Darkness” Hollywood Premiere

Alice Eve in Zuhair Murad | 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Hollywood PremierePhotos: Zimbio; Zuhair Murad; Giuseppe Zanotti
WHO: Alice Eve
WHERE & WHEN: “Star Trek Into Darkness” Hollywood premiere on May 14, 2013.
WEARING: Zuhair Murad dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and jewelry by Marina B and Martin Katz.

MY VERDICT: Alice Eve went bold in metallics to rock the silver carpet at the Hollywood premiere of “Star Trek Into Darkness”. She wore a sexy long sleeve Zuhair Murad gold embroidered sheath dress with black silk knit paneling, from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. I love the way Alice highlighted the colors of her dress by slipping into lace up black Giuseppe Zanotti sandals with a gold mirrored heel accent. That was a cool choice, and I like it without the belt just as much as I did with the accessory. | continue reading..

Kate Beckinsale in Alberta Ferretti | MET Gala 2013

Kate Beckinsale in Alberta Ferretti | MET Gala 2013Photos: Zimbio; Giuseppe Zanotti; Edie Parker
WHO: Kate Beckinsale
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Alberta Ferretti dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Edie Parker clutch & Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Black was the obvious dress color choice for the punk themed MET Ball this year, but Kate Beckinsale opted for red to switch things up a little bit. The 39-year-old actress hit the scarlet carpet for the annual fashion soirée wearing a custom red strapless asymmetrical dress by Alberta Ferretti. I liked the angled drama of the hem and fold over detail at Kate’s waist.

She wore her long hair up in her favorite high-volume ponytail style; it’s something we see from her often, but the ‘do was needed as it showed off Kate’s electric diamond triple arrow statement earrings by Lorraine Schwartz–she also wore a ring to match! Sharp lined smoky eyes, a black Edie Parker “Jean” black box clutch and matching strappy Giuseppe Zanotti completed her look.

There were some rock ‘n roll elements here—zero punk. To be fair, I wouldn’t have expected her to wear a costume either.

Jennifer Morrison in Donna Karan Atelier | MET Gala 2013

Jennifer Morrison in Donna Karan Atelier | MET Gala 2013Photos: Zimbio
WHO: Jennifer Morrison
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Donna Karan Atelier dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes & Jherwitt jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Oh my mohawk! Just like Hailee Steinfeld, Naomie Harris and Emmy Rossum, “Once Upon a Time” star Jennifer Morrison was clad in a one-of-a-kind dress from Donna Karan Atelier. She wore a reptilian black lace on nude gown with asymmetrical cascading flounce motif on one hip and shoulder with a micro strap detail. I think it’s a beautiful creation, and probably one of the best looks I’ve seen on the actress. The back reminded me of Nina Dobrev’s dress last year.

It didn’t really call out “punk”, but there was still something still rough and sexy about it that captured the theme more than Emmy’s did. When Jennifer styled her long blonde locks into a braided faux hawk with looped edges, it played off the dress rather than being out of place. In a nutshell: punk wasn’t fully there, but it wasn’t non-existent either.

She finished with a black clutch, matching Giuseppe Zanotti platform pumps and custom jewelry by Jherwitt.

Emmy Rossum in Donna Karan Atelier | MET Gala 2013

WHO: Emmy Rossum
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Donna Karan Atelier dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes & Irit Design jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Emmy was one of the many stars that decided to wear a really beautiful dress and add punk elements in later with hair and makeup. The “Shameless” actress arrived at the gala wearing a stunning one-of-a-kind Donna Karan Atelier platinum embroidered ravished lace gown with silver silk liquid lamé lining.

The v-neck gown was draped with tulle and featured exquisite beaded fringe along the back.

I can honestly say this is one of the nicest dresses I have ever seen Emmy wear, but it wasn’t punk to me. It was actually pretty far from it. It was obvious she tried to make up for the lack of rock influence by opting for structured dramatic eyeshadow and a braided hairstyle. I’m pretty sure she was going for a mohawk, but it would have been cooler if she had done it with buns.

Emmy finished with fishnet nail art, delicate Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, and cool webbed gunmetal jewelry from Irit Design.

Gwen Stefani in Maison Martin Margiela | MET Gala 2013

WHO: Gwen Stefani
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Maison Martin Margiela top and skirt, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes & a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

MY VERDICT: I had no doubt (see what I did there?) that Gwen was going to show up in something that both fit the theme and her own personal style at the annual gala this year. The No Doubt singer walked the red carpet for the PUNK: Chaos to Couture ball wearing a very chaotic two-piece custom look by Maison Martin Margiela. Gwen wore the twisted crop top seen on the Spring 2013 runway, but switched it up by ditching the trousers in favor of a white column skirt. To be quite honest, I think she should’ve still gone with the pants–white or black, it would’ve been cool. I don’t think this was full on punk, but Gwen didn’t need to go overboard because she embodies the theme on the daily and was in her zone naturally. | continue reading..

Teresa Palmer in Diane von Furstenberg | MET Gala 2013

WHO: Teresa Palmer
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Diane von Furstenberg dress and clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes & Forevermark jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Despite wearing a very bold lipstick red gown by Diane von Furstenberg, it was actually Teresa’s darkened eyebrows that I noticed first. I mean, how can you not? That being said, the “Warm Bodies” actress looked gorgeous in the sexy plunging neck gown that was custom made for her.

The eyebrows take some getting use to–unlike her hair, which looked amazing. Teresa left her long golden blonde tresses out in power waves while having the side braided in. I think she had one of the best hairstyles of the night, and I desperately want to recreate this one myself. | continue reading..

Brittany Snow in Lela Rose | 2013 MTV Movie Awards

WHO: Brittany Snow
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 MTV Movie Awards held on April 14, 2013.
WEARING: Lela Rose dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Farbod Barsum clutch & Neil Lane jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Brittany went heavy on the embellishments and short on length when she rocked a midnight blue Lela Rose mini dress at the MTV Movie Awards. The “Pitch Perfect” starlet showed off some leg in the Fall 2013 design, which featured a gathered waist and dazzling beaded embroidery along the shoulders. I really liked the shorter hemline for Brittany as it balanced her figure while perfectly suiting the hip environment. | continue reading..

Miranda Cosgrove in Stella McCartney | 2013 Kids’ Choice Awards

Amandla Stenberg in Opening Ceremony | 2013 Kids' Choice AwardsPhotos: Zimbio; Style.com
WHO: Miranda Cosgrove
WHERE & WHEN: Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards on March 23, 2013.
WEARING: Stella McCartney dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Jimmy Choo clutch & Loree Rodkin jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Miranda pulled shades from her Stella McCartney organza dress when it came to her accessories of choice at the Kids’ Choice Awards this year.  The former “iCarly” actress stepped out on the purple carpet wearing a colorful abstract printed sleeveless lightweight dress from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection in cool tones of blue and green.  I really love the sheer panel that waves through the dress; it coordinated well with Miranda’s loose ombré beachy waves.

With the help of a dash of popping pink on her lips and nails, Miranda completed her KCA look with open toe teal Giuseppe Zanotti pumps and a light blue tube clutch from Jimmy Choo.  I really liked how this was styled as it was a fun balance between youthful and mature. At 19-years-old now, I think that suits Miranda just fine.

Vanessa Hudgens in Naeem Khan | “Spring Breakers” Hollywood Premiere

WHO: Vanessa Hudgens
WHERE & WHEN: “Spring Breakers” Hollywood Premiere on March 14, 2013.
WEARING: Naeem Khan dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes & Neil Lane jewels

MY VERDICT: Vanessa couldn’t have shocked me more with her “Spring Breakers” premiere dress if she tried.  The 24-year-old stepped out on the hot pink carpet wearing a gown by Naeem Khan, from the designer’s Fall 2012 runway collection.  The dramatic full-length dress features a collection of gold, black and bone-colored beading and paillettes for the sleeveless shell bodice that connects to a feathered skirt with a high thigh slit.  The end result?  A fierce dress that powerfully overwhelmed the petite star.  | continue reading..
