It was back to the “Hitchcock” red carpet for Dame Helen Mirren when she stepped out with costars Jessica Biel and Toni Collette for the Beverly Hills premiere of their new movie, held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Samuel Goldwyn Theater last night.

The English actress once again opted for a full look from the Fall 2012 collection by Dolce & Gabbana—this time around, Helen’s ensemble included a black floral lace mid-length cocktail dress with golden embroidered bordering along the neckline, waist, cuffs and hem. | continue reading..

Dame Helen Mirren looked absolutely lovely in black and gold last night when she hit the red carpet for the New York premiere of her new movie “Hitchcock”, held at the Ziegfeld Theater.

The 67-year-old Oscar winner wore a long-sleeved black lace cocktail dress from the Fall 2012 collection by Dolce & Gabbana, which featured nearly all-over gold metallic embroidery and flared bell sleeves. Although this exact design wasn’t seen on the runway, heavily similar designs were featured throughout the collection—more intensely during the finale. | continue reading..

Helen Mirren in Dolce & Gabbana | 2012 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

On Friday evening, Helen Mirren attended the opening ceremony of the 47th Annual Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, where she was presented with the the Crystal Globe award for her outstanding artistic contribution to the world cinema.

The “Arthur” actress stood out in a bright purple lace gown by Dolce & Gabbana, which featured a wide square neckline where a thin strip of black lace peaked out. The slim silhouette and long sleeves were very flattering on Helen.

She accessorized lightly with gold jewelry, and a textured evening bag before finishing off her look with a stained lip and softly waved shoulder-grazing tresses.

I most certainly prefer this Dolce & Gabbana look on Helen to that star printed frock we spotted her in this past December.

What did you think of Helen’s purple lace gown?

When I first saw pictures of Dame Helen Mirren on the red carpet at the 64th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards last night, I thought “haven’t I seen her in this or something like it before?”

My eyes were not playing tricks on me. Helen, in fact, wore this exact same Badgley Mischka light yellow-gold gown with bead-embellished drapey sleeves to the 2011 Golden Globe Awards! See a photo below. | continue reading..

Dame Helen Mirren walked the red carpet this past Sunday for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards looking as regal as ever in a navy blue long-sleeve jersey dress with a crystal embroidered belt and applique skirt from the Resort 2012 collection by Badgley Mischka.

I loved this design in its original form, but I also like the way it was modified for Helen — she looked beautiful. | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments – The Guilty

2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments - The GuiltySometimes it’s easier to pick out what I didn’t like on the red carpet rather than what I loved. It seems as though more stars commit fashion crimes than not. I think I could have made it up to fifty with the amount of unlawful styles that occurred in 2011. Here’s the final fifteen…

Jennifer Lopez in Gucci | 2011 MET GalaPhoto: Zimbio
15. Jennifer Lopez in Gucci
The pink overload that Jennifer Lopez had going on in head-to-toe Gucci at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala this year was just too much for me to look at. She’s fierce, we all know that — and she could definitely work a look from this collection — this just wasn’t her look. I appreciate that you can get away with more at this particular event than you can pretty much anywhere else, but I was really hoping for more from her. Thankfully her style was nearly flawless the rest of 2011. | continue reading..

Helen Mirren in Dolce & Gabbana | 2011 British Comedy Awards

Helen Mirren in Dolce & Gabbana | 2011 British Comedy AwardsPhotos: Zimbio; Style.com
When I first saw photos of Helen Mirren wearing this Dolce&Gabbana dress on the blue carpet this past Friday for the annual British Comedy Awards in London, I figured ‘oh ok, this is different — but, it might work’. Boy, was I wrong.

I thought she’d take off her warm winter cover-ups — you know? As in loose the coat and gloves… and she ended up doing so… kind of. The fabulous English actress, who’s usually glamorous, was not at her best for this appearance. When she removed her lush ivory wool coat.. she actually left. on. her. leather. gloves. with the star-print and lace cocktail long-sleeve dress. Umm… | continue reading..
