MY VERDICT: I really love the sunset orange shade of Julie’s waterfall long dress by Catherine Malandrino. A very similar design was featured in the Pre-Fall 2013 collection in a forest green with wider straps. While part of me would like to see her in that dark leaf hue, I think the thinner strap works best on Julie’s lithe frame, and the crossover bodice with gathering at the waist enhances a little bit of a curve. To compliment the shimmering effect of the satin lining at the cascading front ruffle, Julie accessorized with gold jewelry and a matching pair of strappy sandals. She went light on her makeup, which was nice—I just wish more had been done with her hair. I’m sure she was going for an ‘undone’ pony, but this was a step too far.

MY VERDICT: In a sea of embroidery, tulle and navy, Julie Bowen stood out in some edgy black leather!  The “Modern Family” star opted for a plunging neck from Johanna Johnson dress with a full length a-line skirt and cool crystal embellished at the cap sleeves.  I’m so used to seeing Julie wear bright colors and fluid layers that I’m both surprised and kind of excited to see her switch it up. I like that she rocked a high ponytail and some smoky eyes, but didn’t take it to intense levels.  She finished off with a funky pair of strappy Jerome C. Rousseau “Fink” sandals and a fun metallic Judith Leiber clutch. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: I just love this blue on the “Modern Family” star!  I’m not usually into this intense floaty caftan silhouette, but there’s something about the way the fabric of her asymmetric Halston dress fell off the shoulder, that loosely swept up hair and those gorgeous statement earrings that made it just seem not so bad.   Julie’s accessories perfectly matched;  she layered on rosecut diamond bangles that complimented her peach moonstone and rosecut diamond earrings–all from Bavna.  The shimmering color and detail of the baubles made them the perfect partners to the glittered open toe Christian Louboutin pumps that she wore.

Julie Bowen stepped out in a colorful dress to host the annual LA’s Promise Gala, which honored Erik Feig, The California Endowment and Univision, at LA Live in Hollywood last night.

The “Modern Family” star lit up the red carpet in a glittering grey lace cocktail dress by Zuhair Murad with teal hand-embroidery.  The embellished knee-length dress featured comfortable three-quarter length sleeves.
