Katie Holmes in Calvin Klein | MET Gala 2013

Katie Holmes in Calvin Klein | MET Gala 2013Photos: Zimbio
WHO: Katie Holmes
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.
WEARING: Calvin Klein Collection

MY VERDICT: I’m not sure where the “punk” was in all of this, but Katie Holmes was a guest at this year’s New York City MET Ball where she hit the red carpet wearing this custom-made white halterneck Calvin Klein Collection gown. Now, judging by her gushing during the live stream interview of the red carpet arrivals, Katie obviously loves the gown Creative Director Francisco Costa designed for her—and with good reason, it’s a beautiful dress.

Considering the dramatic trans and solid canvas, I think Katie could have done more to stick with the PUNK: Chaos To Couture theme, but–like many, she stuck by intense smoky eyes with nude lips, twisted hair, and dagger shaped diamond earrings.

Katie Holmes in Tom Ford | “12-12-12″ The Concert for Sandy Relief

Katie Holmes looked beautiful last night in head-to-toe Tom Ford when she attended “12-12-12″ The Concert; a five hour long show at Madison Square Garden to benefit The Robin Hood Relief Fund for the Hurricane Sandy Relief. The horrific superstorm hit New Jersey and New York in late October, leaving thousands without power, homes, and for many—their loved ones.

The “Dead Accounts” actress showed her support during the concert while wearing a long-sleeve violet cocktail dress with sheer sleeves and regal-yet-sexy velvet panels. This is a non-presented design from Ford’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection. I think I like this dress in color more than the black featured gown. | continue reading..

Katie Holmes took the stage last night during the 9th Annual Style Awards, held during New York Fashion Week at The Stage at Lincoln Center, to present the award for Designer of the Year to Carolina Herrera.

In honor of Ms. Herrera, Katie also wore a look from her collection.

The 33-year-old actress paired her Carolina Herrera classic cotton poplin black button-down shirt with a really beautiful champagne gold pleated full skirt that was embellished with black sequins and beading at the waist. | continue reading..

Last Monday, Katie Holmes attended the Artistry On Ice press conference, held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing, China — where as an ambassador for the organization — Katie promoted the upcoming ice skating event.

The actress-turned-designer wore an off-the-shoulder black suede a-line dress from her collection Holmes & Yang, which Katie created with her stylist Jeanne Yang.

Katie accessorized the look with chunky cuffs, her favorite Jennifer Meyer “S” initial necklace (for her six-year-old daughter Suri) and a pair of ivory crisscrossing pumps.

Love the dress? It will be available at Barneys New York next month!

Katie Holmes in Elie Saab Couture | 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Katie Holmes and her husband Tom Cruise were back to their full “power couple” potential on Sunday night as they made an appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party following the 84th Annual Academy Awards ceremony.

Tom looked so much young with his newly cropped ‘do and I loved the dark shade of his dapper suit. He perfectly complimented Katie, who was dazzling in a strapless sapphire chiffon gown with a velvet waistband and an embellished bodice from the Fall/Winter 2011 haute couture collection by Elie Saab. | continue reading..

2011 Style Verdicts: Hot Trend – Candy Coated Denim

2011 Style Verdicts: Hot Trend - Candy Coated DenimOne of my favorite trends of 2011, that I hope will carry on into the new year, would definitely be colorful denim! Joe’s Jeans, J Brand, Blank Denim, Ksubi, AG Adriano Goldschmied, and Rag & Bone, were only some of the casual brands that released a wide variety of Crayola-inspired jeans and shorts.

Don’t be afraid to try it! You can instantly brighten up your basics (ie: a solid black top and matching shoes), or you can add some flare by picking a color out of your printed top and selecting a pair of jeans in the same shade. I can’t get enough of it therefore I’ve included some of my favorite looks below.

HILARY DUFF in KSUBI
Before her pregnancy announcement, Hilary Duff was spotted rocking a killer pair of cuffed marigold Ksubi skinnies. She added this massive splash of color to her white tank and matching pumps! I love how she played with different colors by opting for a blush pink Balenciaga bag and a bright red lip. | continue reading..

Katie Holmes in Holmes & Yang | “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” NY Premiere

When I first saw waist-length blurry camera phone photos of Katie Holmes arriving with her husband Tom Cruise for the New York City premiere of his film “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” last night — I actually thought her dress resembled a Valentino creation. It wasn’t until official red carpet images were released that I noticed it was just similar.

Katie attended the ‘Ghost Protocol’ premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre wearing a sheer long-sleeve navy blue dotted dress from her own womenswear collection Holmes & Yang. I hope I’m not the only person who thinks the sheer panels, color, and tiered skirt is kind of an obvious take on the Valentino Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

The color is very pretty on Katie — but it’s hard for me to appreciate the dress because her bra is so noticeable through the material. The entire portion from the bust to the hemline should have been lined considering camera flashbulbs pick up practically everything. | continue reading..

Katie Holmes in Holmes & Yang | “Jack & Jill” Premiere

Last night Katie Holmes went to the premiere of Columbia Pictures’ “Jack & Jill” in Westwood, Calif. wearing a crisscross silk chiffon dress from her own line Holmes & Yang.

Considering it’s her collection (with stylist Jeanne Yang), you’d think this would be one of her best looks.

It definitely wasn’t.

It’s not the dress, that’s actually cute. I like the blending of the orchid and black colors; the gathered silk, ruffled details, and pleated skirt. Where she went wrong was everything surrounding it. The dress was so funky and her make-up was boring…the hair was even more boring, and her Lanvin ankle strap pumps were too chunky. Cool, but not right for the dress. | continue reading..
