Kelly Clarkson lived out another dream last night when she took the stage at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville during the 46th annual CMA Awards to perform a duet with Country music icon Vince Gill. The "Catch My Breath" singer finally wore something that I truly liked on her, which also completely flattered her curves. Kelly shined under the bright lights in a navy blue and rust red custom-made dress by Cesar Arellanes; a designer label she's been known to turn to for her red carpet and stage looks.
It was one big party in Canada last night when the stars hit the red carpet for the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards, held at the MuchMusic Headquarters in Toronto. The crowd was energetic, the celebrity attendees were excited and some of the clothing was... questionable. I did a little plucking and picked some of the ladies who stuck out to me for a bit of a fashion run-down of the night. [Click here to see what Katy Perry wore!] Selena Gomez seemed to be hell-bent on proving that there's no such thing as 'too short of a hemline' when she arrive in this sparkling, sequin-embroidered, metallic micro-mini Roberto Cavalli dress. It's good that there were straps -- or else it would look like she was in a tube tunic -- but the 19-year-old really could have added three more inches to that.
Kelly Clarkson stepped out on the black carpet last night for the Entertainment Weekly & ABC-TV Up Front VIP Party held at Dream Downtown in New York City. The 30-year-old star, who was in attendance for a performance with John Legend and Robin Thicke, wore a pretty Resort 2012 abstract cocktail dress by Erdem. I love the actual dress, but it wasn't fit properly on Kelly at the outer sides of her bust. Kelly wore her hair up in a wavy ponytail and finished off her look with a skinny black belt, dark lacquered nails and a pair of nude platform sandals.
Kelly Clarkson looked better than ever as she sang a duet with Jason Aldean last night during the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards wearing a gown by Pamella Roland. The 29-year-old singer wore a black sleeveless dress with a plunging neckline with silver glitter straps crisscrossing at the opening into a belt. I liked this one her a lot, but I would have loved it even more if it were long-sleeved.
Mary J. Blige, one of the queen divas of R&B, arrived for the taping of the "VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul" special last night at Hammerstein Ballroom looking amazing in a crystal-embellished sleeveless off-white gown from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection by Michael Kors. Mary looked down-right gorgeous in this dress! I love the fit on her, and check out that stunning gather-and-fall detail at the side which only enhanced how great this looked on her athletic figure.
It was an evening of rhythm and soul last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. VH1 held their annual VH1 Divas concert where the vocal talent -- both legendary and new -- of different genres came together on one stage for several unforgettable performances. For this years theme, "VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul", Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine), Kelly Clarkson and Jessie J headlined the event and took the stage with the likes of Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Boyz II Men, Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius and Travie McCoy. Jennifer Hudson arrived on the red carpet decked out in a head-to-toe look from Francesco Scognamiglio's Fall/Winter 2011 collection. The 30-year-old singer (and Weight Watchers spokeswoman) looked slimmer than ever in this shimmering three-quarter length sleeve dress. Her particular design was not seen on the catwalk; Jenn's featured a shiny stretchy fabric and thicker lace ruffled embroidery at the neckline. In addition to the dress, Jenn rocked an insane pair of glittery banded thigh-high boots from the collection! I like the boots more than the dress on her, but I think they were better suited for one of the performances rather than the carpet. I would have loved to have gotten a great view of the heel during the show. She finished off her look with sparkly hoop earrings, a flower ring and matching bangles from Jacob & Co..
