Anne Hathaway in Gucci | 2013 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Anne Hathaway in Gucci | 2013 Costume Designers Guild AwardsPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Anne Hathaway
WHERE & WHEN: 15th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards on February 19, 2013.
WEARING: Gucci dress and jewelry from Dana Rebecca Designs, Julieri & Kwiat.

MY VERDICT: Many ladies opted for glamorous gowns at the Costume Designers Guild Awards this year, but Anne kept it short and sweet when she rocked the grey carpet in a gold metallic embellished mini dress by Gucci.   The dazzling little frock featured mesmerizing crystal embroidery in a intricate cage-like design at the neck.  With a dress this busy, the “Les Misérables” Oscar nominee was smart not to go overboard with accessories—however, it didn’t stop her for going full-out with a crystal t-strap sandal.  While it would have been best for her to tone it down with an unembellished shoe, I can’t help but not care when all of my focus is going to that dress.  Anne completed her look with a swept pixie, a metallic manicure, and cat-lined dramatic eye. | continue reading..

Teresa Palmer in Vera Wang | “Warm Bodies” NYC Screening

WHO: Teresa Palmer
WHERE & WHEN: “Warm Bodies” New York City screening on January 25, 2013.
WEARING: Vera Wang top and skirt, Christian Louboutin shoes & Kwiat jewelry.

MY VERDICT: I just love seeing more and more of Teresa on the red carpet as she’s one of my favorite rising stars right now.  The Australian beauty looked youthful and fabulous at the New York screening of her new movie “Warm Bodies” (go see it!) wearing an embroidered crop top and white folded skirt by Vera Wang.  I’m really into white-on-white looks with a little bit of metallic detail tossed in lately, so I’m all about the pairing of her “Dudoura” Christian Louboutin sandals. These heels were a cool balance with the feminine edge of her top and bottom, and I dig the hint of silver around the toes with the perspex ankle cuff.

NOTE: Taylor Swift is also a fan! | continue reading..

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta | 2013 Golden Globes

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta | 2013 Golden GlobesPhotos: Zimbio
WHO: Zooey Deschanel
WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.
WEARING: Oscar de la Renta dress, Casadei shoes, Edie Parker bag & Kwiat jewelry.

MY VERDICT: In true Zooey Deschanel fashion, the “New Girl” star arrived wearing an Oscar de la Renta ball gown completed with wispy bangs and pearls.  She’s has a knack for playing with vintage styles and sometimes infusing her quirky personality into it, which she did tonight with film reel nail art!  Zooey wore a red silk taffeta gown from the designers Pre-Fall 2013 collection, a strapless design with a full skirt that wasn’t presented on the runway.  I like that Zooey sticks to her likes and doesn’t comprise her style; she knows what she’s into and it never comes across as phoney on the red carpet.  I think she looked really nice.

Anna Kendrick hit the green carpet at Universal CityWalk yesterday for the world premiere of her new animated movie “ParaNorman”, in which she voices the character of Courtney Babcock.

The 26-year-old actress shined in the California sun wearing a pink metallic sleeveless tea-length dress from the Resort 2012 collection by Mulberry, which featured delicate tucking at the neckline and full skirt. | continue reading..

Tina Fey in Oscar de la Renta | 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards

“30 Rock” star Tina Fey selected a fuchsia gown for her trip down the red carpet at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards this past weekend. She donned a tulle strapless embroidered gown from the Resort 2012 collection by Oscar de la Renta.

It was a pretty color, but she looked kind of short. I prefer seeing her in a much more sleek and long silhouette. When I saw the video of her arriving, it looked like she was having trouble moving in it. | continue reading..

Abigail Breslin in L’Agence | “New Year’s Eve” NY Premiere

After attending the Monday night premiere of “New Year’s Eve”, 15-year-old Abigail Breslin flew to New York City to attend the black carpet fete for the holiday film last night at the  Ziegfeld Theatre.

Abigail showed off a little leg in an asymmetric draped bodice black sequin long-sleeve dress from the Holiday 2011 collection by L’Agence. This dress was originally seen as a gown in a metallic gunmetal color, but this look is mature enough for her, so I’m glad she didn’t wear that one.

This was a huge departure from the little princess Marchesa dress she wore earlier this week; I feel like the LBD aged Abigail a few years. I would expect to see Zoe Saldana in a dress like this one.

Her honey blonde hair looked stunning in soft cascading curls, but I’m confused on her too-white Judith Leiber clutch and nude platform pumps. They’re so bland with this dress and don’t really compliment each other.

Abigail is wearing jewelry from Kwiat.

Abigail Breslin in Marchesa | “New Year’s Eve” LA Premiere

Wow, Abigail Breslin looks so grown up! It seems like just yesterday she was “Little Miss Sunshine”, but the 15-year-old actress was all glam on the black carpet last night for the Los Angeles premiere of her new holiday film “New Year’s Eve”.

Abigail arrived at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on the chilly December night wearing a sleeveless chiffon and tulle ecru cocktail dress from Marchesa‘s Fall/Winter 2011 collection. I adore the embroidered details at the bodice as well as the peek-a-boo grid hoop skirt beneath the sheer fabric.

Due to the weather, it would have been fabulous if she had arrived donned in the chic black lace trim coat paired over the dress for the presentation. | continue reading..

Elizabeth Olsen in Valentino | IFP’s 21st Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards

Elizabeth Olsen was one of the first ladies on the red carpet tonight at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City for the 2011 Gotham Independent Film Awards.

The “Martha Marcy May Marlene” was donned in an crystal beaded embroidered floor-length dress with nude underlining from the Resort 2012 collection by Valentino.

Elizabeth is a beautiful girl, and I adored her pinned under hairstyle with golden ringlets framing her face. Her make-up was equally flawless; from the neck up she was a true stunner.

While lovely, this isn’t the dress I would have selected for her. The silhouette lacks in giving her a definite shape. The nude lining at the neckline is supposed to play into a cowl design, but it just looks odd the way it’s falling. It’s as if a piece of the dress that’s supposed to be tucked in is sticking out.

On the upside, I think the color of the gown is much, much prettier on the red carpet than when it was photographed for the presentation. I also love the blush color of her satin clutch — it worked with the dress.

Elizabeth is wearing Kwiat jewels and Valentino sandals.

Ashley Greene in Donna Karan | Avon Global Voices For Change Awards Gala

Wow, “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene was definitely channeling old Hollywood glamour tonight at the Avon Foundation For Women Global Voices For Change Awards Gala held at Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City.

The Mark. ambassador — and new face of DKNY — looked breathtaking when she arrived on the printed carpet in a gorgeous electric blue one-shouldered cocktail dress that was custom designed by Donna Karan. I’m loving the gathered detail across her bust and at her hip; the silhouette of the dress made her figure look womanly and fabulous.

Make-up artist Mai Quynh gave Ashley an intense cat-eye, pretty highlighted cheeks, and a glossy pink pout. Ashley’s hairstylist Ted Gibson styled her chocolate brown hair to perfection with classic pin-curls. | continue reading..
