WHERE & WHEN: 2014 MusiCares Person of the Year Rehearsals on January 24, 2014.
WEARING: Vintage HALSTON
Let’s check out the highlights, shall we?
13. JENNIFER LAWRENCE, “THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE” UK PREMIERE
I can appreciate dazzling beaded embellishments being a selling point of a dress, but please tell me how someone looked at Jennifer’s envy-inducing figure and decided to put her in something that’s so ill-fitting. She was trapped in this satiny fabric that pulled and wrinkled in all the wrong places. The fact that it happened was bad enough, but that it happened at the world premiere of “Catching Fire” was just a downright bummer.
12. ANNE HATHAWAY, ACADEMY AWARDS
It might not be the worst thing we saw on the red carpet this year, but those awkward bust point’ and the apron design made it memorable enough that I can’t forget it was a bad choice for Anne to accept her Oscar award in. | continue reading..
MY VERDICT: As I’ve said before, one can never predict what Lady Gaga will wear. It was fun to pick some choices for her on my wish list albeit none of them came true, I still liked the custom made black technical satin gown by Prabal Gurung that the “Applause” singer donned for her trip down the red carpet for the MTV Video Music Awards.
This was a far stretch from her infamous meat dress once upon a time, but the singer still got the interwebs a-buzzing with her ‘shockingly normal’ floor length gown with a large bow at the waist and a shimmering polka-dot train.
I thought the dress worked for her, but I wish Mother Monster had donned the blonde curly wig she changed into during the show over those Morticia-esque long black locks.
The few ladies that are included on my wish list have either already been confirmed—or I saw them included in the annual picture of the seating chart first look. What I love about the show is that you never really know what to expect someone to wear. Anything can happen at the VMAs—I mean, let’s remember that this is the same show where Lady Gaga donned her infamous meat dress. Seriously, anything can happen.

MY VERDICT: The day isn’t even done and we already have yet another fierce full Balmain look from Lady Gaga! The 27-year-old singer continued her press tour grind to promote her new single “Applause” and selected her second three piece ensemble by designer Olivier Rousteing.
This time around, Gaga opted for the fuzzy black high neck long sleeve top with a strong shoulder and the black-and-gold metallic belt from the Fall 2013 collection that she partnered with white cuffed Resort 2014 trousers. | continue reading..
MY VERDICT: Mother Monster was back in Balenciaga today for an interview with Elvis Duran on the Z100 morning show in New York City. The 27-year-old singer promoted her new single “Applause” and upcoming album ARTPOP while donned in a black draped cocktail dress, from the Resort 2014 collection designed by new Creative Director Alexander Wang, that features a dramatic low plunging open back. | continue reading..
MY VERDICT: My favorite purple Balmain leather tulip skirt was worn, finally, when Lady Gaga arrived at SiriusXM Studios for an interview on “The Morning Jolt with Larry Flick” today. The 27-year-old ARTPOP singer wore a full look from designer Olivier Rousteing’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection for the fashion house, which included a draped sleeve black plunging v-neck long sleeve top and black-and-gold metallic belt. | continue reading..
