Makeup artist Mai Quynh, who has worked with Kristen many times before, was inspired by Kristen’s auburn hair and black-and-nude outfit, so she wanted to give her a dark eye—with a twist. “I wanted to change it up a little bit. Instead of using black, I gravitated toward warmer colors,” Mai explained. “I mixed a maroon and bronze eye shadow and layered them on her eye.” Although Mai wanted to leave a tough black out of the look, she did use it to line the inner rim of Kristen’s eyes. She returned to a warm palette when creating the rest of the look. “For her cheeks, I used a soft peach blush and a sheer beige lipstick.” | continue reading..

JENNIFER LAWRENCE suited up in a short black satin Christian Dior tuxedo dress for the Hollywood screening of her movie “Silver Linings Playbook”, and with her long dark curls swept up into a high twisted bun, all focus was spotlighted on Jen’s smoky eyes, sculpted cheekbones and petal pink pout—which she worked with celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey to achieve her youthful and beautiful look.

Jillian created strong intense eyes by combining a defined black line on the upper lash line with a smoky, khaki shade on the lower lash line. She used Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Khaki, Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow Palette in 19 Enigma and Guerlain Terracotta Khôl Kajal Eyeliner in Black Frida before swiping her lashes with Dior Diorshow Mascara in Black. | continue reading..

Cat Woman: Beau Nelson Gave Kristen Stewart Seriously Smoky Feline Eyes!

Cat Woman: Beau Nelson Gave Kristen Stewart Smoky Feline Eyes!Photo: Zimbio
It’s KRISTEN STEWARTlike you’ve never seen before!

For the second New York City private screening of her latest movie “On The Road”, make-up artist Beau Nelson, once again, gave her a new look. Back in September, Kristen rocked model-perfect cheekbones, but this time around he gave her a futuristic superhero smoky cat-eye to compliment the black leather body-con dress by A.L.C. that she was clad in.

One of the ways Beau made this intense style work was by leaving the rest of her face neutral to allow the eyes to pop.

“I’ve done smoky eyes on Kristen about a hundred different ways, so I wanted to do something a little unique. I created a smoky, almost cat eye shape only on the top—no liner or shadow on the bottom lash line. This resulted in a more modern take on a smoky black eye,” Beau explained.

While these ultra-smoky eyes may be a bit too intense for the office, it would certainly liven up our ensemble for a night out on the town! Are you game to try it? Get tips from Beau below! | continue reading..

Leigh Lezark wore a raven black Tom Ford dress for the 2012 LE BAL, hosted by MAC and Carine Roitfeld, last night at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild in Paris, France.

The model/DJ attended the chic gala, which was held during Paris Fashion Week, in a shortened version of the luxe long-sleeve pitch black dress from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection, which features a multi-block plush velvet design across the sheer long-sleeved bodice along with a full matching skirt.

I have to say, I like the gown version more.

With jet-black tresses and matching accessories, Leigh’s only pops of color came into play with a glossy ruby-red pout and lacquered nails. She topped it all off with diamond jewelry.

Are you digging it?

Karlie Kloss rocked the black carpet in Alexander Wang when she turned up for LE BAL, hosted by MAC and Carine Roitfeld during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday night in Paris, France.

The 20-year-old model arrived at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild wearing a black croc-textured illusion halter dress from Wang’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which features daring splits at the neck, bust and double slits in the skirt. Though they only reach halfway to her thigh, it looks like Karlie might be on the verge of a ‘wardrobe malfunction’.

I loved the dress on her — and she worked it just as well as Erin Wasson did on the runway, but are you surprised?

Karlie completed her look with double strap black patent boots, a loose curly mane and intense smoky eyes.

“I prepped Archie’s skin using Lancer™ Dermatology Nourish AM/PM Moisturizer all over the face. I treated under eyes with Kerstin Florian Correcting Eye Rescue Pads and followed with Kerstin Florian Brightening Eye Creme.

“The skin preparation is super important. I spent about twenty minutes prepping skin with an Intraceuticals Clarity Oxygen Treatment and then applied the Intraceuticals Finishing Products. This gives the skin a plump glowing and gorgeous finish. I used Tatcha Luminous Dewy Fix Moist Spray right before makeup and on the exposed skin of the arms.
