Cate Blanchett looked beautiful and refreshed on the red carpet last night when she attended the “Life of Pi” opening gala, held during Day 1 of the 9th Annual Dubai International Film Festival in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Australian actress stood tall and confident in her ice blue short sleeve draped silk-chiffon Rodarte gown, which featured a metallic rust orange inset at both sides that matched a shorter skirt underneath; it wasn’t visible due to the closed center split.

This entire Spring 2013 collection from sister designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy is filled with unique cuts, vibrant colors and asymmetric layers in this aesthetic. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of this particular dress on the runway, I think it’s much more appealing to the eye after seeing it on Cate… and I find myself wishing she had worn the intricate belt as well.

Cate completed her look with a stained rose-colored pout and a pinned up hairstyle.

I hope Shailene Woodley gets some downtime next week to enjoy the holidays with her friends and family, she’s been practically everywhere the last few months as she’s been promoting “The Descendants”.

The 21-year-old walked the red carpet last night at the Madinat Jumeriah Complex to premiere the film for the 8th Annual Dubai International Film Festival in a bright lilac lace knee-length cocktail dress by Dolce&Gabbana.

I really like the color, but I’m all about embracing the fall and this has “keep me handy for spring” all over it. A fun multicolored sandal or printed pump would have really complimented this dress. It’s, surprisingly, a very versatile color.

Needless to say, I’m not feeling the black pumps.

Paula Patton and Tom Cruise hit the next stop on their international press tour for “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”. The two joined their co-stars Anil Kapoor and Simon Pegg, along with their director Brad Bird, at the Dubai International Film Festival last night to sign autographs for fans on the red carpet before premiering the film at the Madinat Jumeriah Complex.

The 36-year-old actress, once again, looked magical in a floor-length dress! I really think she would wear gowns more often because they favor her so well. Earlier this week she wore a Michael Kors gown in Mumabi.

For the DIFF she selected a dark coral strapless silk chiffon dress from the Resort 2012 collection by Andrew Gn with a beaded design at the waist and a rise-and-fall tier skirt. This design was originally presented in a bright purple, but I prefer this color on Paula as it flawlessly compliments her complexion. | continue reading..
