Mary J. Blige was back on the carpet to support "Rock of Ages" with a premiere in London last night, where she wore her second dress from Catherine Maladrino's Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear line. This time around, the 41-year-old R&B singer-turned-actress was back in black, with a not-so-basic design. Mary wore an edgy long-sleeve mini dress with a woven leather overlay, which included sheer panels and fishnet elements.
Mary J. Blige hit the black carpet on Friday night to celebrate the Hollywood premiere of her new movie "Rock of Ages" with costars Julianne Hough and Tom Cruise and the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. The R&B diva donned a super tight, black stretch leather, long-sleeve dress with asymmetric mesh insets from the Fall 2012 collection by Catherine Malandrino. I said super tight, right? Because it was. We all know that Mary is fierce and usually rock whatever it is that she wears, but this dress just didn't do her justice in showing off her toned curves.
There were so many interesting looks on the red carpet at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards this past Sunday. Some were fabulous, others were odd, some were just downright bad, and then you had a few that got slightly over-looked. I want to put focus on those. Mary J. Blige was in attendance as she was nominated for the "Best Original Song"; her song "The Living Proof" was featured in the nominated film "The Help". The R&B singer looked incredible and showed off her toned physique in this suntan crystal embroidered stretch tulle gown by Michael Kors.
Mary J. Blige, one of the queen divas of R&B, arrived for the taping of the "VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul" special last night at Hammerstein Ballroom looking amazing in a crystal-embellished sleeveless off-white gown from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection by Michael Kors. Mary looked down-right gorgeous in this dress! I love the fit on her, and check out that stunning gather-and-fall detail at the side which only enhanced how great this looked on her athletic figure.
It was an evening of rhythm and soul last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. VH1 held their annual VH1 Divas concert where the vocal talent -- both legendary and new -- of different genres came together on one stage for several unforgettable performances. For this years theme, "VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul", Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine), Kelly Clarkson and Jessie J headlined the event and took the stage with the likes of Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Boyz II Men, Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius and Travie McCoy. Jennifer Hudson arrived on the red carpet decked out in a head-to-toe look from Francesco Scognamiglio's Fall/Winter 2011 collection. The 30-year-old singer (and Weight Watchers spokeswoman) looked slimmer than ever in this shimmering three-quarter length sleeve dress. Her particular design was not seen on the catwalk; Jenn's featured a shiny stretchy fabric and thicker lace ruffled embroidery at the neckline. In addition to the dress, Jenn rocked an insane pair of glittery banded thigh-high boots from the collection! I like the boots more than the dress on her, but I think they were better suited for one of the performances rather than the carpet. I would have loved to have gotten a great view of the heel during the show. She finished off her look with sparkly hoop earrings, a flower ring and matching bangles from Jacob & Co..
