MY VERDICT: JLo brought the drama! Leave it up to Jennifer to hear the words “punk theme” and show up in something that’s not really punk at all–but, will still cause a scene. Oh wait, maybe she actually hit the nail on the head. The “Live It Up” singer arrived wearing a custom black cheetah patterned, sequin-embroidered gown by Michael Kors with long sleeves and a daring open back. I liked the gradient effect of large and smaller embroideries as it showed off Jen’s figure rather than widening it.

MY VERDICT: Despite the warmer season quickly approaching, I can’t help but love the head-to-toe black ensemble that Lily Collins rock at WonderCon this year.  The 23-year-old, who was in attendance to promote her upcoming movie “The Mortal Instruments” at a cast panel, rocked a black sheer Valentino blouse with a white ponytail collar and matching cuffs, from the Spring 2013 collection.  I can’t be the only one getting Wednesday Addams-vibes!  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Rachel took the yellow brick road all the way to the London premiere of “Oz: The Great and Powerful”, and she glittered in a pretty nude embroidered lace Michael Kors gown. The strapless floor-length gown comes from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection and features ruched detail at the side, a sweetheart bodice, and a leather belted waist.

MY VERDICT: After an electric appearance at the SAG Awards, and two more fabulous moments during the Super Bowl recently, Nina hit another high note at the Indie Spirit Awards this year as she supported her film “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”.  The 24-year-old actress showed off her mile-long legs in a super sassy golden Spring 2013 outfit by Michael Kors.  Nina wore an optic white shell top with gold embroidery and matching optic white shorts that she completed with a gold mirrored belt.  I can’t decide if I like the belt at the narrow part of her waist or up higher as it is on the model, but I certainly know that I absolutely love this look for her.  She polished off the spring-ready ensemble with a high ponytail, smoky bronze eyes, and a pair of strappy gold Jimmy Choo sandals.  I’m still digging those new bangs!  A++

WHO: Catherine Zeta-Jones
WHERE & WHEN: “Side Effects” New York premiere on January 31, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Catherine joined her costars Channing Tatum and Rooney Mara on the red carpet at the New York premiere of their new movie “Side Effects” wearing a floral lace dress by Michael Kors.  The 43-year-old actress selected a non-presented Pre-Fall 2013 black and nude printed lace Shantung strapless dress, which featured a calf-length hem in the front with a glamorous gliding train in the back.  This angled cut provided a great view of Catherine’s gold strappy satin sandals.  I’m a bit turned off by her top handle beige clutch as it felt out of place. I wish she had done a bit more with her hair and accessorized with black clutch.

Gold earrings and glam makeup provided the finishing touches for Catherine.

WHO: Alicia Keys
WHERE & WHEN: NRJ Music Awards 2013 in Cannes, France on January 26, 2013.

MY VERDICT: I didn’t think I’d get to see this dress back out on the red carpet after Gwyneth Paltrow’s shortened version, but Alicia broke out some sexy Michael Kors cutouts last night for the NRJ Music Awards. I just love this crepe gown, the details are so cool; sexy and a little bit edgy. It’s a great design for a music event atmosphere, and I dig the little spin Alicia put on it with the black and white diamond short necklace to lay amongst the crewneck. With such a minimally accessorized look, I can’t help but be drawn to her hairstyle.  Looks like Alicia is still into rocking her new spin on a fauxhawk with her super short locks.

WHERE & WHEN: The Daily Beast Bi-Partisan Inauguration Brunch in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2013.

MY VERDICT: In the last several weeks, Kerry has quickly become one of the top ladies on my radar—I’m loving her style! The “Scandal” star rocked the red carpet at the brunch in her crimson and black cashgora shift with black plonge cap sleeves, an off-runway design from the Fall 2012 collection.  Although the cut was classic, the style was bold and I like how she kept the edge going with over the knee boots and tights while keeping the rest of her look pretty soft with loose waves, a classic black flap bag, and a long delicate necklace.

WHO: Alicia Keys
WHERE & WHEN: President Barack Obama’s Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. on January 21, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Alicia Keys stunned in red when she celebrated Pesident Barack Obama’s reelection by performing at the Inaugural Ball this evening in Washington, D.C..  The “Girl On Fire” singer wore a gorgeous crimson Michael Kors crewneck matte jersey goddess gown with crystal embroidery, which twisted at the waist and featured a dramatic open back.   This design comes from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection by the designer, and I think it was a beautiful choice for Alicia.  It wasn’t busy, but it wasn’t too simple either—and let’s face it, those shimmering embellishments simply captivate.

Alicia wore her short hair pinned up to show off her diamond earrings that matched her bracelet, and completed her look with red open toe platform satin pumps.

MY VERDICT: For the Kids’ Inaugural: Our Children, Our Future concert to celebrate military families, our First Lady opted for an Alexander McQueen suit ensemble. Mrs. O spoke on-stage wearing a white asymmetric tunic and black straight leg from the Resort 2011 collection, which just so happens to be an outfit she’s apparently very fond—she has been seen wearing it once before while meeting with students at the University of Oxford. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Can we talk about how amazing Emily looked last night at the Golden Globes?  The “Looper” actress rocked a Michael Kors gold metallic lace chain embroidered cut out gown, from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection. I’ve been in love with this dress for a long, long time, and when I still hadn’t seen it on the red carpet, I had almost given up hope that I would—that is, until Emily.  Not only was the dress a great fit with a bit of sexiness added to a classic silhouette, but I loved the pop of color she added with raspberry-and-gold sparkling jewelry. Emily completed her look with an elegant twisted up do and a shimmering Ferragamo gold minaudière with encrusted with Swarovski crystals.

She was definitely one of my favorites of the night. How about you?
