MY VERDICT: I was apprehensive as to whether or not Nina could out-do her black and gold gown from last year, but boy was I blown away by the direction she took tonight. The “Vampire Diaries” actress properly balanced punk and glam to live up to the “Chaos to Couture” theme. MY VERDICT: Saoirse wore one of my favorite shades of green when she did her morning press rounds for “The Host” in New York City today.  The 18-year-old actress hit “Good Morning America” with costar Max Irons for an interview before heading over to SiriusXM Studios — and all the while wearing a school-girl-chic ensemble from Carven.  Saoirse selected a silk button-down teal blouse with a contrast light peter-pan collar and paired it with the matching tweed structured skirt.  | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: 21st Annual “A Night At Sardi’s” Gala Benefiting The Alzheimer’s Association on March 20, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Kaley lit up the purple carpet in shimmering midnight blue when she attended the annual “A Night At Sardi’s” gala, which benefits The Alzheimer’s Association. Last year, the “Big Bang Theory” star kept it sunny in bright yellow, but she turned out some drama this time around when she selected a sexy strapless gown by Monique Lhullier, from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The slinky solid design featured glimmering paillette paneling down the center to add some dimension.  I’m glad that Kaley wore her blonde hair out in sleek strands as the neckline would have been too bare had she worn it up, and it would have been too heavy if she had curled those tresses.

This look was complete with the perfect smoky eye and a navy satin box clutch to match the color of her gown.

WHERE & WHEN: The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ 22nd Annual Hall of Fame Induction Gala on March 11, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Kaley hit the red carpet in style when she attended the 22nd Annual Hall of Fame Induction Gala.  The beautiful “Big Bang Theory” star hosted the event wearing a killer cutout gown by Monique Lhuillier.  This sexy sleek floor-length black beaded design comes from the Fall 2012 runway collection and features an opening at the waist that peeks out above a noir leather belt.

As you might know by now, it bums me out when the ladies pass on this element from the line—needless to say I was so glad Kaley left it.  These small but important details like the opening and the belt add cool edge to an otherwise classic elegant dress.

Open toe pumps, an embellished metallic clutch and super smooth tresses helped complete her look, while soft smoky eyes and minimal jewelry were the perfect final touches.

MY VERDICT:  Ginnifer lit up the Vanity Fair Oscar celebration in her oceanic cocktail dress by Monique Lhuillier.  The “Once Upon a Time” actress shimmered her way into the party wearing the Spring 2013 racer structured knee-length design, which is covered in pearlized shell embroidery and features hidden pockets.  The bright and bold blue was electrifying against Ginny’s porcelain complexion and dark hair.

As a long-time fan of the sparkling number, I have to say that I’m pleased with how it was worn.  But, truth be told, I can’t imagine anyone making a wrong decision with this frock.  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: What a beautiful dress Kate wore!  I had instantly taking a liking to this black strapless tulle tea-length dress from the new Fall 2013 collection by Monique Lhuillier when the designer debuted it during New York Fashion Week earlier this month, so needless to say, I was pretty thrilled to see it as part of Oscar night.

The “Total Recall” actress made a grand arrival at the Vanity Fair bash thanks to the glamorous vintage silhouette that was covered in stunning bursting gold embroidery.  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT:  I loved it!  Naomie looked beautiful in a soft ethereal seafoam gown when she attended the Vanity Fair post-Oscar party this year.  The “Skyfall” star selected her second dress by Monique Lhuillier of the week, this time around it was a lace floor-length asymmetric gown with a draped tulle overlay comes from the designer’s ultra-popular Spring 2013 runway collection.

I adore the way the light color popped off of the English actress’ rich complexion, and the subtle alteration she made to the dress by letting one of the straps loosely fall off her shoulder. | continue reading..

WHERE & WHEN: 15th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards on February 19, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Cat looked beautiful in her shimmering sheer gown by Monique Lhuillier, which appeared as if crystals were dripping down her body.  The long sleeve design comes from the Spring/Summer 2013 runway collection and features metallic beaded embroidery in a gorgeous array of interlocking patterns. There’s something very dream-like about this dress that seems straight out of a fairytale, and that’s probably way it’s one of my favorite dresses from Lhuillier’s line.  I was happy to see that it’s transition to the red–err grey carpet wasn’t poorly affected by the wrong hair, makeup and accessories.  Cat wore her golden locks in sleek strands before finishing off with a minaudiere that matched her gown and intense smoky eyes. Lovely.

WHERE & WHEN: Audi Super Bowl 2013 Celebration in New Orleans on February 1, 2013.

MY VERDICT: I may be a “love it or leave it” type of person with flesh tone dresses, but I really love the beaded cocktail dress that Ashley wore to the Audi party while kicking off Super Bowl 2013.  The former “Twilight” actress selected the glittering single shoulder design from Monique Lhuillier‘s Resort 2012 collection.  Because of the knee-length hem line, I wish Ash had either worn a sexy pointed toe stiletto pump or a dark gold sandal. I’m not really against the fact that it matches because it’s good that the dress stands out, but that round toe platform silhouette is too boring. They’re more distracting than they should be.

Ashley finished her look with minimal makeup and jewelry, and beautiful perfectly sculpted cascading curls.

Busy Philipps proudly displayed her growing belly in a custom made Gabriela Cadena navy blue long sleeve silk dress.  The “Cougar Town” actress, who recently announced her second pregnancy added some boldness to her look with a colorful one-of-a-kind Irene Neuwirth statement necklace and a matching embellished clutch by Judith Leiber.  A scarlet red lip, gathered mane and Brian Atwood “Stearling” shoes were the finishing touches.

Alexis Bledel like Jessica Pare, the 31-year-old actress also opted to wear a brilliant shade of emerald green at the SAGs this year. I love the color and pleated detailing of her structured Rena Lange dress, and the way her beautiful vintage House of Lavende colorful crystal necklace sat amongst the deep v-neckline.
