It was one big party in Canada last night when the stars hit the red carpet for the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards, held at the MuchMusic Headquarters in Toronto.

The crowd was energetic, the celebrity attendees were excited and some of the clothing was… questionable. I did a little plucking and picked some of the ladies who stuck out to me for a bit of a fashion run-down of the night.

Selena Gomez seemed to be hell-bent on proving that there’s no such thing as ‘too short of a hemline’ when she arrive in this sparkling, sequin-embroidered, metallic micro-mini Roberto Cavalli dress. Nelly Furtado attended the 2012 Billboard Music Awards tonight in Las Vegas where she nearly blended in with the bright white carpet by opting for an outfit of the same color.

The 33-year-old singer arrived at the MGM Grand wearing a Spring 2012 crocheted beaded dress by Alberta Ferretti.

She wore a black bra with partially visible cups that peeked out from the top of the dress. This prevented her dress from blending too much with her ivory crochet statement necklace.

I’m not really into black pumps with white dresses, but because of the detail with her bra, she could have gotten away with a strappy black sandal to tie the whole look together.

Nelly lined her eyes with really bright aqua shadow. How hot would it had been if she wore that color somewhere else in her ensemble? An aqua and black mixed pattern shoe would have been fun too.

She finished off with a pompadour hairstyle and feather spike metallic silver ear clips.
