MY VERDICT: Carey Mulligan brought “The Great Gatsby” to Australia for its most recent premiere–sans her costars Leonardo DiCaprio, who is reportedly still at the Cannes Film Festival, and Isla Fisher who is back in the states promoting a new movie.

MY VERDICT: If you thought Anne was going to take it easy the Saturday before Oscar weekend, then you’d be wrong. The “Les Misérables” star stepped out for the Cinema Audio Society Awards where she honored director Jonathan Demme while donned in a sparkling strapless black Nina Ricci sequined dress. This was a fairly simple and classic silhouette with a grosgrain ribbon belt, but that didn’t mean it didn’t pack some heavy dazzle. Sometimes comfort is key, and Anne looked beautiful—and comfy. MY VERDICT: Double the premiere, double the fun!  After stepping out for “Lovelace” during the annual Berlinale Film Festival tonight, Amanda was back on the red carpet to join her “Les Misérables” costars for another showing of their Oscar-nominated film.  The 27-year-old actress gathered her curls up into a high ponytail to show off the sultry strappy open back of her sequin-embellished, high-neck black Nina Ricci cocktail dress.  Despite it’s sexy dark nature, the slinky design comes from the Spring 2013 collection.  Amanda complimented the dress with strappy “Harting” sandals by Rupert Sanderson, before adding a pop of color with scarlet red lips. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: I’ve been awaiting the moment that I would see this polka-dot sheer gown on the red carpet, and Gemma Arterton was the one to take the Nina Ricci asymmetric beauty off the runway when she attended the Mexico City premiere of “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”.  Unfortunately, I don’t think she was the right woman for the job.  Gemma has a terrific figure, but the ruching at the slit was unflattering on her; this wasn’t helpful to her or the dress. Sometimes it’s just simply (and sadly) isn’t a match. Furthermore, I think the show could have been better since it was put on display.

That being said, her silky big curls and flawless makeup were the big winners here.

 

After sharply turning heads on the red carpet this past Monday for the premiere of “Les Miserables” in New York City, Anne Hathaway was back out against last night in something a bit less intense as she supported her costar Hugh Jackman at a special celebration held in his honor.

The 30-year-old actress sparkled in her Nina Ricci embellished light pink dress when she arrived for the Museum Of Moving Image Salutes Hugh Jackman cocktail event at Cipriani Wall Street. Jessica Biel was spotted leaving the Dream Downtown in New York City with her husband Justin Timberlake last night following the premiere of her new movie “Playing For Keeps”, and she wore a dress that she probably should have selected for the red carpet considering her gown of choice didn’t play out so well.

The 30-year-old actress slipped into a comfortable aqua silk Nina Ricci dress, from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which featured an asymmetric hem, cutaway strips and a lace necklace.  I think the color looks beautiful on her, but I can’t say that I totally understand the pairing of the bright turquoise suede Jimmy Choo “Anouk” pumps.  | continue reading..

“Downton Abbey” star Michelle Dockery stepped out on the red carpet yesterday afternoon to attend the BAFTA LA TV Tea 2012 Presented By BBC America at The London Hotel Hollywood.

The British actress looked very lovely in a cream-colored, floral pattern, long-sleeved dress from the Resort 2013 collection by Nina Ricci that featured a delicate layer at the yoke with a neck-tie detail. The breezy design was defined at the waist with a matching belt that was adorned with a emerald green buckle and a matching adjustable loop.

Michelle complimented the colorful coral pattern with matching embossed pumps.

She finished off her look with a curly up ‘do, diamond jewelry and a white minaudière.
