Cameron Diaz in Gucci Premiére | 2012 Oscars

I was so excited about Cameron Diaz’s Oscar look last night!

The 39-year-old actress seemed to have darkened up her bright blonde locks a bit as she swept them to the side and showed off her super toned shoulders and arms in this nude gown from Gucci Première — with an asymmetric hem of cascading ruffles and silver sequin embroidery.

It was a flawless fit, which can be almost impossible with a color this light and a design this tight. There wasn’t any wrinkling and zero bunching, which further goes to show how in-shape Cam is. | continue reading..

Penelope Ann Miller in Badgley Mischka | 2012 Oscars

One of my favorite ladies on the Oscars red carpet last night was Penelope Anne Miller. Not many stars can say they had a hand in designing their gown, but “The Artist” actress can.

Penelope helped design her pale pink halter neck gown by Badgley Mischka that was fully embroidery with a scattered effect of silver sequins throughout the entire dress. The smooth tapered style gave Penelope an amazing smooth silhouette.  | continue reading..

Maya Rudolph arrived on the Hollywood red carpet last night for the 2012 Oscars in a rich shade of plum when she donned this cap-sleeved gown designed by Johanna Johnson.

The smooth gown, with a light mermaid silhouetted skirt, was enhanced a bit beautiful crystal embroidery at the sleeves, full back and waistline. | continue reading..

Melissa Leo in Reem Acra | 2012 Oscars

After taking home the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role last year, for her role in “The Fighter”, Melissa Leo took the stage last night at the 84th Annual Academy Awards to present in a sequin embroidered gown.

The “Predisposed” star looked in her black sequin gown by Reem Acra that featured a color-block of gold at the top.

A satin sash sat tied at her waist, but that was probably my least favorite part. I feel like it should have tied to be a bit more snug to give the look a big more definition.

Melissa finished her look with Jimmy Choo “Koko” sandals and black onyx jewelry,  including earrings and a bangle.

Kristen Wiig in J. Mendel | 2012 Oscars

“Bridesmaids” star Kristen Wiig stepped out on the Oscars red carpet last night in a strapless nude gown designed by Gilles Mendel.

I was hoping to see something from the latest Fall/Winter 2012 collection, but this is the Academy Awards, and I guess I should have expected some custom J. Mendel couture. The nominated star arrived wearing a nude tulle strapless gown with a woven bodice and hand pleated layered skirt.

This is probably the first time all awards season that Kristen hasn’t worn a sleek gown, so it was kind of cool to see her switch gears and opt for a ball gown. I like the silhouette of this on her, but I can’t help but wish it had been a richer or vibrant color. I’m never really into the flesh-colored dresses on Kristen.

She completed her look with soft cascading wavy tresses, a light palette of make-up, Neil Lane jewels and Prada heels.

Virginia Madsen in Kevan Hall | 2012 Oscars

Virgina Madsen opted for a vibrant look last night when she arrived for the 84th Annual Academy Awards in an Imperial purple one-shouldered asymmetric gown, from the Spring/Summer 2012 signature collection by designer Kevan Hall.

The ruched detail at the draped bodice gave way to a dramatic fish tail train that glided across the red carpet. I liked the color on her a lot, but I would rather have seen her in a much more sleek look. The bottom portion just looked so difficult for her to maneuver around. | continue reading..

Leslie Mann in Roberto Cavalli | 2012 Oscars

Leslie Mann was donned in midnight blue when she arrived on the red carpet at the Hollywood & Highland Center last night for the 2012 Oscars with her husband Judd Apatow (not pictured).

The 39-year-old actress rocked a sleek ponytail with her beautiful navy sweetheart silk chiffon gown from Roberto Cavalli. This dress didn’t lack when it came to dazzling details, Leslie’s dress was embroidered with blue sequins along the bodice and featured a navy sash across her hip that gathered at her right side. | continue reading..

Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera | 2012 Oscars

Tina Fey finally got it right!

I wasn’t the biggest fan of her the way her gowns fit her earlier this awards season, but the “30 Rock” star got a perfect fit from her beautiful navy blue silk faille gown by Carolina Herrera last night at the 84th Annual Academy Awards.

The strapless design showed off her trim arms, but the feminine peplum hid any flawless at her waistline. The smooth column skirt prevented her body from looking truncated and the glorious train added some extra glam. | continue reading..

Ellie Kemper in Armani Privé | 2012 Oscars

I want to love Ellie Kemper’s look from head-to-toe — but her blinding bangs are keeping me from doing so!

The 31-year-old “Bridesmaids” star totally rocked the red carpet at the 84th Annual Academy Awards last night in her Armani Privé gown, but her hairstyle was anything but bangin’. I mean really, can she see with those things?

With the exception of her refusal to sweep her bangs to the side — Ellie’s look was darn-near flawless. Her gold and topaz jewels from Lorraine Schwartz complimented her fiery strapless gown, which was embroidered with sequins in shades of scarlet, rust and gold. | continue reading..

Meryl Streep in Lanvin | 2012 Oscars

Meryl Streep took home Mr. Oscar last night at the 84th Academy Awards when she won Best Actress for her role as Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady”. Meryl obviously had a feeling this would be a big night — why else would she have coordinated her outfit with her biggest date of the evening?

The 62-year-old actress wore a custom-made gold lamé draped Eco gown in silk mousseline by Alber Elaz and tied the look together with a woven gold and strass chain link belt.  | continue reading..
