Paula Patton has had a rollercoaster of looks lately; sometimes it’s so good and sometimes it’s beyond bad. For the MET Gala on Monday night — it was beyond great!

The “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” actress stunned in a lilac wrapped gown with asymmetric cutting edge at the bodice that was custom designed for her by Vera Wang.

Paula attended the gala as a guest of Wang.

Not only did the dress fit like a dream, but everything else was working in her favor too. Paula’s long dark hair looked chic in a low ponytail that showcased her mesmerizing pink stone cluster earrings and her make-up was both complimenting and beautiful.

She finished off the look with a gunmetal leather minaudière.

Keke Palmer arrived in a pretty embellished short sleeve Plein Sud dress, but it was her cream-colored pumps that totally killed it for me. She could have had a better result with a pair of “Pigalle” pumps by Christian Louboutin because the point on these were too long. I know some people are into really long points, but they drive me nuts. After nearly a two month promotional tour for “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”, Paula Patton got to kick back and party into the new year with her husband Robin Thicke. The couple rang in 2012 at Diddy’s hosted “CIROC The New Year 2012″.

For the biggest party of the year, Paula Patton slipped into a black silk sleeveless mini dress by Moschino Cheap & Chic with a drapey neckline and completely embellished with gold safety pins.

I had only seen a few pictures of her sitting on Robin’s lap, so I figured the extra short version of this was just hiking up on her thighs from being seated.
