2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments – The Guilty

2011 Style Verdicts: Red Carpet Moments - The GuiltySometimes it’s easier to pick out what I didn’t like on the red carpet rather than what I loved. It seems as though more stars commit fashion crimes than not. I think I could have made it up to fifty with the amount of unlawful styles that occurred in 2011. Here’s the final fifteen…

15. Jennifer Lopez in Gucci
The pink overload that Jennifer Lopez had going on in head-to-toe Gucci at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala this year was just too much for me to look at. She’s fierce, we all know that — and she could definitely work a look from this collection — this just wasn’t her look. I appreciate that you can get away with more at this particular event than you can pretty much anywhere else, but I was really hoping for more from her. Thankfully her style was nearly flawless the rest of 2011. | continue reading..

Paula Patton in Dolce & Gabbana | “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”

Paula Patton took a peek into the Dolce&Gabbana archives for her appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday, December 21st.

Paula showed off her toned figured in a totally shortened black version of this sheer ruched dress with mesh insets that was seen on the catwalk for Dolce&Gabbana‘s Spring/Summer 2007 collection. I love when the stars wear older looks that never really got a chance to shine on the red carpet.

It was certainly revealing around the bust, but it looked and fit great on Paula. I’m glad she didn’t wear chunky sandals or boots; Paula opted for sleek leopard printed point toe pumps. | continue reading..

Paula Patton in Moschino | 106 & Park: BET’s “Top 10 Live”

The New York City premiere wasn’t the final round of “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” promo for Paula Patton! The M:I4 actress was a guest on BET’s 106 & Park “Top Ten Live” yesterday to promote the movie and wore such a funky little outfit.

Paula sparkled in a gold disc sequin mini dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Moschino and cinched it at the waist with a thin black leather belt. For some added edge, Paula layered on a really cool black leather biker jacket.

I love the dress, I love the jacket, and I really love those Giuseppe Zanotti suede cutout platform ankle boots. | continue reading..

Paula Patton in Dolce & Gabbana | “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” Rio de Janeiro Premiere

It baffles me that Paula Patton could wear Dolce&Gabbana twice in one day while looking fabulous in one selection and the opposite in the other.

I may have been totally turned-off her dinner attire, but I felt completely different when the “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” actress hit the red carpet at Cine Lagoon in Rio di Janeiro for the premiere.

Paula looked beautiful in a bright tangerine silk-chiffon halter gown from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection with pretty pink and seafoam floral prints all over. I love the ruffled details at the trim and skirt along with the stunning crystal embellishments at the neck and waist.  | continue reading..

Paula Patton in Dolce & Gabbana and Brian Atwood for a Night Out in Rio!

I’ve seen some really terrible looks trying to pass for “fashion” this year, but I think Paula Patton may have hit a whole new low when was spotted leaving a restaurant in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on December 14th.

It wasn’t her outfit that was the problem… it was the way she wore it.

To beat the Brazilian heat, Paula wore a white dress by Dolce&Gabbana with a sweetheart neckline and pleated skirt that was covered in beautiful floral prints. That ‘sounds’ like a nice choice — until you look at the photo of her in it.

First of all, Paula added an unnecessary gold skinny belt to the dress — obviously you can see it serves no purpose, and it’s not even positioned properly. On top of all that — she unbuttoned the bodice of the dress to nearly completely expose her red lacy bra. WHAT? In what world does this possibly pass for something pretty, classy, sexy, or fashionable? | continue reading..

Paula Patton in AMEN | Visiting SiriusXM Studio

While doing some promotional interviews around New York City before walking the red carpet at the premiere of “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” last night, Paula Patton was spotted wearing, yet another, long-sleeve mini dress!

I’m a huge fan of the long-sleeve style, and in addition to my love for the colorful dress she wore for the premiere, I also really liked this black mini by AMEN. Paula stopped by SiriusXM Studio yesterday morning for an interview on “Sway in the Morning” wearing a look from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

Because of the edgy style, I’m glad the loose curls she styled her hair in weren’t very ‘glam’ — that would’ve been a bit overdone. Even still, a ponytail would have looked better.

There’s no doubt that I like her black tights — but she needed to loose the boots. I have nothing against a classic suede ankle boot, but a bright shoe, something with a print, or even a style with a stand-out detail would have been preferable. These were just… boring.

Why didn’t she break out another eye-catching look from Brian Atwood?

After an overwhelming global tour to promote the action movie Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Paula Patton and her M:I4 co-stars finally brought the film to New York City for a major red carpet premiere tonight.

Paula has had some serious hit or misses for the duration of the ‘Ghost Protocol’ premieres around the world, but I was really hoping we’d have a hit on our hands tonight… and we did!

The beautiful brunette actress was both sparkly and colorful in a stunner of an Emilio Pucci Spring/Summer 2012 dress when she arrived at the Ziegfield Theatre with her husband, singer Robin Thicke. I adore the pink, purple, lime green, peach, and blue patchwork design beneath the beaded sequin embellishments throughout the design. There are also some sparse pale pink ostrich feathers embroidered into the lower half of the mini dress and the long-sleeves.

This is one of my favorite dresses from Pucci’s collection, but it’s also one of the best dresses she wore on the tour. I know there are a slew of fantastic purple shoes she could have worn with this, but thankfully her Christian Louboutin suede “Bambou” pumps didn’t disappoint. They were a complimenting color — and they weren’t too chunky. | continue reading..

She’s worn coral twice on the global promotional for “Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol” the past month, but last night Paula Patton embraced a gorgeous shade of purple!

The M:I4 actress rocked a leopard printed purple and black strapless gown by Dolce&Gabbana when she arrived on the red carpet at the Callao Theater on the Calle Gran Villa for the premiere in Madrid with her co-stars Tom Cruise and Simon Pegg.

She has gotten some very mixed reviews for this look, but I like it — it’s fun! Fashion is supposed to be fun, and as long as she’s not wearing that white fur coat with it — I’m okay with this. | continue reading..

What in the world?!

I’ve been praising the last two looks seen on Paula Patton during her global promotional tour for “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”, but I can not support her arrival style for the German premiere on Friday night.

Paula wore a sexy silver metallic off-the-shoulder corset mini dress by Vivienne Westwood Red Label, but it was the white fur coat she arrived on the red carpet at the BMW Welt in that killed it. I mean… really? I don’t think I need to tell you what this look was reminiscent of.

Considering she wasn’t going to leave it on for long, a knee-length ecru or black wool coat would have served its purpose of keeping her warm while looking much classier. | continue reading..

Paula Patton in Dolce & Gabbana | “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” Dubai Press Conference

Before hitting the red carpet in a gorgeous Andrew Gn gown for the Dubai International Film Festival on December 7th, Paula Patton attended the press conference for “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” — with co-stars Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg and Anil Kapoor — in another lacy design by Dolce&Gabbana.

The 36-year-old actress wore a long-sleeve square-neckline black lace dress from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection that hit her just above the knee. Instead of the sequined purple bodysuit seen on the runway, Paula toned it down with a black slip dress underneath. | continue reading..
