MY VERDICT: After donning a shocking pink mini at the MET ball earlier in the week, Kate opted for a more subdued shade at the special Hollywood screening of her new movie “Black Rock”. The 30-year-old actress arrived at the ArcLight Hollywood theater wearing a Miu Miu ivory and slate blue godet skirted dress, which featured an exquisite pearl and crystal embroidered sleeveless bodice. The intense flounce skirt both flattered and lengthened Kate’s lithe shape, which is refreshing since this style has the tendency to truncate or add unnecessary width to teh body.

With a sleek low ponytail and a pop of punchy red on her pout, Kate finished off the look with a pair of silver leather décolleté pumps and a python clutch–both from Prada.

WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala – PUNK: Chaos to Couture on May 6, 2013.

MY VERDICT: There were many stars that completely missed the mark of the MET Gala this year. The theme was PUNK: Chaos to Couture, and yet so many looked like they were going to the Oscars instead of celebrating a punk exhibition. That being said, Miley was definitely not one of them. The 20-year-old hit the red carpet in Marc Jacobs; a nude column dress with a long sleeve black fishnet overlay from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection. She had already nailed the concept with the dress, but took it a step further with a totally spiked out ‘do, black diamond Eddie Borgo armor rings, red lips and gold glittered nails. | continue reading..

WHO: Leonardo DiCaprio
WHERE & WHEN: “The Great Gatsby” world premiere on May 1, 2013.
WEARING: Head-to-toe Prada

MY VERDICT: The very handsome Leonardo looked dashing, as usual, when he stepped out for the New York premiere of his latest film, “The Great Gatsby”–based on the classic the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The 38-year-old actor suited up in head-to-toe Prada; a baltico blue kid mohair two-button notch lapel suit, which he partnered with a white stretch piquet shirt, navy silk tie, and a pair of shiny black lace up shoes. It was a great suit choice for him–and the color was even better.

A little bit of facial hair and artfully brushed hair completed his look. Swoon.

WHO: Anne Hathaway
WHERE & WHEN: 85th Academy Awards on February 24, 2013.
WEARING: Prada dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Roger Vivier clutch, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

MY VERDICT: The rumors were at a high level that Anne was going to wear a Valentino Haute Couture gown to the Oscars this year, in fact, even the fashion house thought so.  As it turns out, the “Les Misèrables” actress hit the red carpet wearing a custom made light pink duchesse satin column gown by Prada.  She mentioned that she only knew what she was going to wear three hours prior to the actual ceremony.  This slim floor-length dress included an open back, with double the crisscrossing detail, and a slit in the skirt.  I prefer the slim cut on Anne, but I wasn’t into this look at all.

I think the best word to describe how I felt was “underwhelmed”.

I’m sure there are a lot of mixed reviews out there, but it just seemed like this was her moment for an unforgettable look…and she played it safe.  Anne finished with a diamond necklace, matching bracelets, a swept pixie, and a light pink pout.

WHO: Michelle Williams
WHERE & WHEN: “Oz The Great And Powerful” World Premiere in Hollywood on February 13, 2013.
WEARING: Prada dress & shoes, Kate Young for Target clutch.

MY VERDICT: Michelle looked stunningly angelic on the yellow brick carpet in head-to-toe Prada!  She wore an off-runway white ‘cady-double’ silk short-sleeve long dress enriched with gorgeous starbursts of crystal embellishments, from the Spring 2013 collection.  Seriously, the detailing on this dress is exquisite!  If it looks this pretty in pictures, I can only imagine how much nicer it is in person. Michelle complimented the shimmering elements with a pair of Swarovski crystal-encrusted t-strap black sandals.

Because of the heavy embellishing, Michelle opted not to wear any jewelry.  However, she did accessorize with a complimenting Kate Young for Target black clutch.  Check out the sexy giant slit that intently showed off black hot pants to match the dark details!

Additionally, she aced her ‘beauty’ look.  I’m a huge fan of her short pixie hair being styled this way;  the swept bangs and height in the back is even better than when Michelle would sweep it up a little bit.  The espresso smoky eyes were equally flattering.

WHO: Anne Hathaway
WHERE & WHEN:  ”Les Misèrables” French premiere on February 6, 2013.
WEARING: Prada

MY VERDICT: Just when you thought the press tour for “Les Misérables” was over, Anne took a break from the awards season circuit to pop back on the promo trail tonight with the French premiere.  The fair skinned, pixie-cut sporting Oscar nominee stepped out wearing a bright fuchsia double faced strapless column gown by Prada, which features gorgeous red crystal embellishing along the top.  This reminds me a bit of what Jessica Chastain wore last month at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.  I love the detailing and this sleek silhouette on Anne’s svelte frame, but the actual overall look wasn’t really a stand out moment. I feel like the crystals need to make another appearance, maybe with faux slanted pockets at the hips or an equally subtle incorporation.  It’s just missing ‘something’—and those pintucks under her bust are kind of weird.

Now, although this wasn’t a “flop”, I’m still waiting for her to really rock the carpet like she did at the Golden Globes.

WHO: The cast of “Glee”
WHERE & WHEN: 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 27, 2013.

KEVIN McHALE: I had to kick this whole thing off with Kevin because I just don’t think I could have contained my love for his hunter green jacket much longer!  The 24-year-old actor worked the heck out of that red carpet in his monochrome black shirt, tie and trousers while sporting a custom Oscar Olima dark green satin jacket over his shoulders with contrast details.  This was totally unique and eye catching—I loved it.  Kevin finished his look with shiny black dress shoes from Prada.

CORY MONTEITH: This is probably one of the best suit looks I’ve ever seen on Cory.  I loved his Calvin Klein Collection grey tuxedo with black contrast arched lapels and stripes down the sides of his pants.  It was well tailored and suited him very nicely.  Cory finished with black Christian Louboutin dress shoes, Ox and Bull Trading Co. cufflinks and tie bar, and a Versace watch. | continue reading..

Busy Philipps proudly displayed her growing belly in a custom made Gabriela Cadena navy blue long sleeve silk dress.  The “Cougar Town” actress, who recently announced her second pregnancy added some boldness to her look with a colorful one-of-a-kind Irene Neuwirth statement necklace and a matching embellished clutch by Judith Leiber.  A scarlet red lip, gathered mane and Brian Atwood “Stearling” shoes were the finishing touches.

Alexis Bledel like Jessica Pare, the 31-year-old actress also opted to wear a brilliant shade of emerald green at the SAGs this year. I love the color and pleated detailing of her structured Rena Lange dress, and the way her beautiful vintage House of Lavende colorful crystal necklace sat amongst the deep v-neckline. WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Kerry continued her epic stylish streak tonight when she rocked the red carpet in a beautiful custom made dress by Miu Miu.  Because of her small frame, this sleek sleeveless nude stretch-tulle and cady gown was perfect for the “Scandal” star.  The back of the dress was solid nude as well as the neckline ring, built in belt and lining, but the entire front panel was sheer, which allowed for the scattered design of hand-embroidered Swarovski crystals to really pop.

This was such an unexpected design tonight—and I love it!  With her shoulder length tresses in super straight strands and flawless makeup, Kerry finished with a satin clutch and pointed toe pumps to keep the streamlined visual effective.

FYI: Kerry’s wearing Chopard‘s green diamond cocktail ring set in rose-cut diamond pave and 18-karat white and rose gold.

WHERE & WHEN: 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on January 10, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Jessica stepped out on the first major award show red carpet of the season last night at the CCMAs wearing an embellished custom made gown by Prada. The “Zerk Dark Thirty” star, who took home the award for “Best Actress”, shined in a red cady silk v-neck gown with fuchsia crystal embroidered straps and a eye-catching bow tied back. Seriously, that back! I liked the front just fine, but I’m assuming that gorgeous detailed back design is what sold Jess on this dress. | continue reading..
