MY VERDICT: Let’s face it, Emma Watson looks adorable is just about anything she wears. The “Bling Ring” actress arrived in a black and white cutout halterneck silk-satin cocktail dress from the Fall 2013 collection by Maxime Simoëns, which featured blue and silver x-ray prints along the bust and hem. As far as the transition from runway-to-red carpet goes—I prefer the melt belt on the model as it added a bit of rock ‘n roll edge to the catwalk. I’m a total fan of the lace-up black Proenza Schouler cutout booties she sported, but I was bored with the hairstyle.

Emma looked cute but although the dresses were similar–as far as a cool structure and bold color go, I don’t believe she was able to top the colorful bold pattern that she rocked for MTV last year.

MY VERDICT: The week isn’t over but I can officially say that Saoirse is headed towards the top of my list for my favorite look.  The 18-year-old actress joined her costars at the special New York screening of “The Host” wearing a kick-ass dress by Proenza Schouler.  Saoirse arrived in a short sleeve folded dress sporting an exciting abstract blue pattern from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection. This electric non-presented design features thick black leather trim falling asymmetrically down the center and a twisted matching belt to define her slim waist.

WHERE & WHEN: “Spring Breakers” Hollywood Premiere on March 14, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Rachel joined her “Spring Breakers” pals on the pink carpet for the Hollywood premiere wearing a printed silk dress from the Spring 2013 collection by Proenza Schouler. I was pretty blown away by this collection, which is made up of bright colors, vivid patterns, and cool fabrics of leather and smooth silk.  This particular black and white dress with lace insets was one of my favorites. I’m definitely disappointed that Rachel wore it the way she did. There wasn’t any need to unbutton the neckline, and the fact that she wore simple pumps really took away the ‘toughness’ from the style.

MY VERDICT: To think, I thought the gold dress that Debby wore over the weekend was going to be a tough act to follow.  The “Jessie” actress looked stunning in her beautiful dove grey Lisa Ho silk tulle bustier gown when she attended Elton John’s Oscars viewing party.  This Spring 2012 floor-length dress, which features slightly edgy v-neck halter straps, was originally seen on the runway in bright blue, and while I think the vibrant shade would have looked just as lovely against Deb’s fiery tresses, I’m really liking the soft approach she took. | continue reading..

After taking a little break from red carpet events, Emma Stone graced us twice this month with a couple of cute looks before taking some time off for the holiday season.

The 24-year-old actress kept it neutral at a Revlon launch event on Wednesday, but brightened the black carpet up last night when she joined Ryan Reynolds for a special presentation of their animated film “The Croods”, held during the 20th Century Fox and Dreamworks Animation’s 2013 Film Slate in New York City.

Emma arrived at the AXA Equitable Center wearing a combo dress from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection by Proenza Schouler; the top portion of the design is sleeveless black slit with a split at the neck, while the bottom half features a colorful blue and lime metallic jacquard a-line skirt. With a fresh face of makeup, Emma simply completed her outfit for the low-key event with smooth tresses and black patent pumps.

Liv Tyler and Liya Kebede joined Proenza Schouler designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough at the 9th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, held at Center548 in New York City on Tuesday night.

The two ladies dressed up in head-to-toe threads from the eclectic Spring/Summer 2013 collection; Liv wore a blue and black long-sleeve silk graphic dress with black platform slingback sandals and an oversize clutch, while model Liya opted for the sexy white perforated scuba dress with a full front zip. Between performances at the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and Saturday Night Live this week, Rihanna was spotted hanging out at the special pre-release preview party for her new album “Unapologetic” on Friday night at her pal Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in New York City.

The 24-year-old “Diamonds” singer arrived wearing a skin-tight pair of dark blue James Jeans, classic Timberland lace-up work boots and a shiny black zip-up hoodie to keep warm in the dropping fall temperature left over from the nor’easter that hit the New York/New Jersey area on Wednesday night.
