Amber Heard in Dolce & Gabbana | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Amber Heard in Dolce & Gabbana | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Amber Heard attended Spike TV’s SCREAM 2011 Awards last night at Universal Studios and – just like practically everyone else – did not walk the black carpet.

Amber wore a dark fuchsia lace bustier strapless cocktail dress by Dolce & Gabbana with a sweetheart neckline. I love the shade against her skin and she looks so put together from the knees up. A nude pump definitely tends to come in handy, especially her Christian Louboutin ‘Lady Peep’ pumps, but forgive me for wanting a really dazzling shoe.

Her hair was perfectly in place with gorgeous big curls and her make-up was sultry and complimented the whole look.

Needless to say, I’m loving Amber on the red carpet lately — I just wish she had walked it last night. | continue reading..

Zoe Saldana in J. Mendel | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Zoe Saldana in J. Mendel | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Zoe Saldana skipped the black carpet last night at the 2011 SCREAM Awards but took to the stage to present the award for Best Sci-Fi movie to J.J. Abrams for the movie, Super 8 wearing an ecru draped cocktail dress from J. Mendel‘s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

The color of the sleeveless silk dress with gathering at the waist and a long keyhole split in the center of the bodice looked amazing against Zoe’s complexion and was simple yet chic enough for the low-key award ceremony. | continue reading..

Anne Hathaway in Valentino | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Anne Hathaway in Valentino | SCREAM 2011 Awards

It’s usually a good thing when Anne Hathaway wears a Valentino dress for me as I think she always looks so radiant in Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s designs. While she was gorgeous as always last night at the SCREAM Awards, this wasn’t her best look.

Anne took the stage with her “The Dark Knight Rises” co-stars Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to accept an award in a crystal embroidered sheer flutter-sleeve nude dress from the Resort 2012 collection.

The dress is undoubtedly gorgeous, but it simply fell flat on Anne. What was with the tucking at the waist? It looks like she got it caught in her undergarments. Regardless, I see it as a cocktail party dress or even a movie premiere look but not an award show — especially this one. | continue reading..

Kate Beckinsale in Julien Macdonald | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Kate Beckinsale in Julien Macdonald | SCREAM 2011 Awards

There were so many looks at the SCREAM Awards that I would have wanted to see on the red carpet, but it seems most actresses skipped the cameras and headed straight for the Universal Studios backstage.

Kate Beckinsale was among the ladies I didn’t see until photos were released of the actual show. Kate hit the stage wearing a longer all-white version of this long-sleeve paneled mini dress first seen during Julien Macdonald‘s Spring/Summer 2010 presentation.

I thought Kate looked amazing and my only problem is that I didn’t get a glimpse of her Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, Lulu Guinness bag or Bo Chic earrings. I was robbed of my red-err black carpet moment!

Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Dolce & Gabbana | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Dolce & Gabbana | SCREAM 2011 Awards

I guess Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Chloe Moretz were thinking alike tonight at Spike TV’s SCREAM 2011 Awards because they both wore dresses from Dolce & Gabbana‘s Fall/Winter 2011 collection. Unlike the full lace cocktail dress Chloe wore, Mary Elizabeth selected a stunning floor-length star print gown that wasn’t seen on the catwalk.

Sporatic lace insets break up the starry design and gives a little definition to her silhouette. She looked lovely tonight and I like that she left her hair down in loose waves.

She added a little glitz to her look with a silver metallic Sedgwick Studio clutch and selected the “Wagner” pumps by Brian Atwood to give her a little height with the long dress. | continue reading..

Chloe Moretz in Dolce & Gabbana | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Chloe Moretz in Dolce & Gabbana | SCREAM 2011 Awards

Chloe Moretz arrived on the black carpet tonight at Spike TV’s SCREAM 2011 Awards and once again looked much older than her 15 years. The young actress wore a long-sleeeve black lace dress with a white pencil skirt and black bustier underlay from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection by Dolce & Gabbana.

I may receive some argument about this but I just feel like the dress was a tad too sexy for her. There’s something about peek-a-boo undergarments beneath black lace that doesn’t ‘scream’ young teen to me. Although, I do appreciate that she didn’t wear the cropped bralette as seen on the model.

I could see how she’d be drawn to the look as it’s a very pretty dress and looks great on her — I love the dazzling effect she added with the jeweled belt to get it red carpet ready. Unfortunately this was just too grown up, at least for me.

As always her shoes stayed age-appropriate. Chloe wore a pair of black sandals with a delicate ankle strap.
