Last Sunday was the annual Hollywood Style Awards, which was held at Smashbox West Hollywood where the celebrity attendees walked a vibrant hot pink carpet as they arrived to celebrate a night of style.
Mandy Moore was one of the first to arrive. She wore a black knitted tank dress over a nude slip by Temperley that she paired with red platform Brian Atwood pumps. I can appreciate the burst of color on her feet, but I just don’t think this was an award show look. Despite how low-key the event actually was.
Jaime King posed on the carpet with pal Chloe Moretz. I really liked the lavender, peach, and ivory sheer graphic dress by Calvin Klein Collection that she wore, but oh-my-NO…those shoes. I seriously can’t understand why I keep seeing this style worn. Am I totally missing something? There’s nothing complimentary about the boat-ish front of this heavy shoe. It brings every look down for me.
It’s been awhile, but once again — I really like what Chloe wore! For the evening, the “Hick” actress wore a amber silk duchesse cap sleeve blouse with a pale gold collar and a black taffeta A-line skirt by Miu Miu. This was definitely fall-ready, and I adore that top. Chloe finished up with black with silver glitter trim heels — also Miu Miu.
Rose McGowan arrived in a sexy black lace cocktail dress by Dolce&Gabbana. I wish she had worn the perfect shoe with it, and while I adore those velvet ruby slingback platform Giuseppe Zanotti pumps — these were not the shoes for this dress. If her lips were going to be such a frosted pink, why wear dark red shoes?
Kristin Davis was one of the very few people who wore a gown — actually, I don’t think I saw anyone else on the carpet in a gown. Kristin stood out amongst all in a red silk vintage dress by Azzaro from Decades Inc.
I really love the neckline detail of this, but I keep feeling like something is missing when I see the exposed gathered at the waist. I’m torn on what belt she could have worn to cover; maybe a matching ribbon that tied in the back. It would compliment without being distracting. Kristin’s hair was styled in old-Hollywood pulled pin curls.
