It was a big year for movies, especially two mega franchises — “Harry Potter” and “Twilight”. While the wizards concluded their story during the summer, it was the vampires who took over in the fall in the most stylish way. The cast of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ hit the promotional trail in late October heavily to promote the first installment of the finale to the blockbuster hit clad in designer looks by major fashion houses such as Gucci, Givenchy, J. Mendel, Donna Karan, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana.

While some stars stayed consistently stylish, some had a rocky road, and others really came into their own. Here are some of my favorite looks Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Taylor Lautner, and the rest of the vampy gang globally rocked.

These were my favorite looks from both Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed during the tour. The avant-garde black and white cutaway Donna Karan design that Ashley donned at the NYC premiere of the film was so interesting. Every angle showed off the dress in a different light — and they were all good. Nikki echoed her choice of a vibrant cutout look with an acid green halter gown by Michael Kors that was trimmed in black and cutaway at both sides of her stomach.

Both ladies accessorized brilliantly, but it was Nikki who had me boiling with a major case of ‘shoe envy’ over her caged platform Giuseppe Zanotti boots. | continue reading..

Every year there are many dresses that are beautiful, tons that are talked about, and a lot that get mixed reviews. It took a lot of nail biting to narrow down the top 15 that really stood out to me over the last year, but I think I picked some pretty ladies in beautiful gowns that got the red carpet treatment they deserved.

15. Jane Fonda in Emilio Pucci
I’ll kick this list off with Jane Fonda in this long-sleeve Emilio Pucci ivory dress at the Cannes Film Festival back in May. Someone needs to direct me to the fountain of youth and fitness that Jane is drinking from because she looks more amazing every year. This dress was originally seen with cutout details, but Jane added some modesty by filling in the gaps with lace. It was a fabulous fitting on her and just an all-around great moment. | continue reading..

2011 was a huge year of wedding bliss! Among the many stars and royals celebrating their nuptials were Reese Witherspoon, Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian, Lily Aldridge, Miranda Lambert, Lily Allen, Anja Rubik, Abbey Clancy, Sofia Coppolla, Molly Sims, Charlene Wittstock, Princess Sophie of Isenburg, and of course Kate Middleton.

It was tough to narrow it down, but I think we could all agree that Kate Middleton‘s custom designed Alexander McQueen gown by Sarah Burton was a clear winner. Millions stayed up at bizarre hours just to watch the royal nuptials between the now Duchess of Cambrige and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. | continue reading..

It isn’t always about the dresses or the shoes when it comes to looking your best on the red carpet — it’s also not always about the ladies. I’m constantly gushing about my love of menswear — and thanks to the following fellas — I got my fill of some great red carpet suits and well-groomed men this year.

 

10. Douglas Booth
Model, and upcoming star of the “Romeo and Juliet” movie, Douglas Booth was a favorite of mine this year. He’s always been slightly on my radar, but he really caught my eye when he attended the EvianVIP Suite at Wimbledon this past summer brightening up black jeans and a white tee with a pinstripe bright kelly green blazer. I love a man in color.

He played it a bit neutral later on for the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show in London. He, once again, wore black jeans and a low neck white tee –but, this time he dressed it up with a nice textured tan blazer cuffed to show off the white pinstripe interior detail. I love his choice of footwear! The brown and beige in his lace-ups made it all worthwhile. | continue reading..

It’s been a little while since the “Twilight” cast wrapped their global promotional tour for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ — but it’s never too late to talk about their promo style. One of its stars, Ashley Greene, was one busiest bees during the press tour. I bet she wished for the vampire speed and the ability to stay energized as she jet-setted all over the world..

While promoting in Paris during late October, Ashley was spotted wearing a sleeveless version of this graphic tweed dress from the Resort 2012 collection by Giambattista Valli. It would have been great to see a full body shot of her in this to get a look at the fit; this was probably a great dress for her because I like what I see so far. Then again, it could have been all downhill when  it came to the shoes. I guess we’ll never know. | continue reading..

Ashley Greene made her rounds across the country when she attended various stops on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ concert tour in a variety of stylish looks. Ashley listened to music from artists on the soundtrack of the film, answered fan questions during the Q&A sessions, and played with a wardrobe mixture of pretty casual and cocktail attire.

It was back-to-back press for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ during October and November — which included a lot of red carpet events and even more interviews. For a “Breaking Dawn” fan event in Rome, Nikki Reed joined her co-star Jackson Rathbone on the red carpet wearing a short white floral lace dress by Dolce&Gabbana.

The dress was cute, but not one of my favorite looks Nikki wore during the tour. The bow at the neck only further makes me think this girly look belonged on some much younger, such as Elle Fanning or Hailee Steinfeld.

There weren’t any full body shots from this event, but I can only hope that Nikki rocked a fun, bold shoe with this. | continue reading..

During the epic promotional film tour that was “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″, Ashley Greene made a stop at “The Today Show” for a joint interview with her co-stars Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed on November 16th.

Ashley arrived to NBC Studios in a very color-coordinated ensemble; a gorgeous cropped textured violet jacket from L’Wren Scott‘s Fall/Winter 2011 collection that she layered over a silky periwinkle “Tholder Fatavia” high-low top by Theyskens’ Theory. | continue reading..

On November 18th, while her “Twilight” co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were in Berlin promoting “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″, Elizabeth Reaser was premiering it in Norway!

Elizabeth, who plays the vampire mom of the Cullen coven in the mega film franchise, showed off a little leg in a super-short cashmere Burberry Prorsum tunic at the Oslo red carpet premiere.

I was obsessed with her look when I originally saw it on the catwalk, for the Fall/Winter 2011 collection, in a mustard color and paired with brown flared skinny pants. Elizabeth opted for a rusty orange shade of the longsleeve tunic and went sans pants for sheer tights! | continue reading..
