Your favorite ladies from today’s hottest primetime shows hit the red carpet last night for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Performers Peer Group Cocktail Reception, which was held in Universal City, California — and they pretty much all wore black.

“Modern Family” star Julie Bowen arrived at the Sheraton Hotel wearing black floral lace dress from French couturier designer Christophe Josse, which featured flounce tiers at the waist and trim around the neckline along with beaded bordering throughout. With her hair gathered up and subtle make-up, Julie simply finished off her look with a dark purple lacquered pedicure that peeked out of her platform black suede Jimmy Choo pumps.

Julie’s costar Sofia Vergara continues to make me feel completely lazy about going to the gym as she struts around in a sassy little dress. The 40-year-old newly engaged actress flaunted her killer bod in a long-sleeve black lace dress with embroidered tasseling at the crossover hemline layer. The “1600 Penn” actress wore this powder blue sleeveless cocktail dress, with ruched detail, as she presented the Trailblazer award to Emma Stone. I love the draping detail and it was such a beautiful spring color.

Martha added a nice burst of contrasting color to the look with a studded coral minaudière and a matching lip color.

She finished off with drop gem earrings, ivory platform pumps and a elegant up ‘do. Because it was an MTV award show, Martha could have afforded to let her hair down for this one.

Last night at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, Taylor Lautner may have skipped on the red carpet, but we got an eyeful of his cool suit when he took the stage at the end of the night to accept the award for ‘Movie of the Year’.
