Do Something Awards 2013: Check Out Sophia Bush's 4 Wardrobe Changes!Photos: Zimbio; Style.com; Jildor; Nancy Gonzalez; Melinda Maria; Graziela; EF Collection
WHO: Sophia Bush
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Do Something Awards on July 31, 2013.
WEARING: Monique Lhuillier dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, a Nancy Gonzalez clutch, and jewelry from Melinda Maria, Jamie Wolf, EF Collection & Graziela Gems.

MY VERDICT: Sophia made a grand arrival on the lime green carpet for the 2013 Do Something Awards! The 31-year-old actress, who nabbed hosting duties this year, was a total knock out in a Monique Lhuillier aqua scale crepe georgette v-neck pleated gown from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

You’ve heard the term “fish out of water” as a reference for being out of your comfort zone, but Soph looked more like a magical mermaid plucked from the sea who was confident and mesmerizing in this breezy floor length dress. A front slit gave Sophia the opportunity to show off her shoes—dark gold strappy Jimmy Choo “Lance” sandals, a favorite of hers. | continue reading..

Krysten Ritter Dolls Up in Reem Acra in NYC!

It was truly a week of revolving looks for Krysten Ritter as she made quick wardrobe changes for a series of appearances to promote the new season her ABC comedy “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23″.

Two of my absolute favorite looks of all included dresses by Reem Acra.

For an interview at VH1 earlier in the week, Krysten was spotted arriving at the studio wearing a gorgeous black collared dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection, which featured shimmering polka-dot printed sheer sleeves and insets at the pleated skirt. | continue reading..

2012 Do Something Awards: A Fashion Round-Up

2012 Do Something Awards: A Fashion Round-UpL-R: Ellie Kemper, Bella Thorne, Olivia Munn and Claudia Lee. | Photos: Zimbio
The Fashion Court caught you up with some of the hottest dresses from your favorite stars on the blue carpet for the 2012 Do Something Awards, hosted by DoSomething.Org and VH1 in Hollywood. But, there were a few other note-worthy looks that I didn’t want to go unnoticed.

Let’s break them down here, shall we?

Ellie Kemper looked so cute when she arrived for the awards ceremony in this printed a-line party dress. The “21 Jump Street” actress selected a gold metallic cocktail dress  by Rafael Cennamo, from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection, which featured navy blue detailing, especially at the banded waist. Ellie wore her red hair in loosely sculpted waves before finishing off her look with a red pout and sassy navy strappy sandals.

Bella Thorne‘s hair just keeps getting lighter and lighter! I’ve always been a fan of the rich red hair on  the “Shake It Up” starlet, but this pale shade is a bit lackluster against her fair complexion. It doesn’t help that her nude lace BCBGMAXAZRIA dress does nothing to add some lively color to her overall ensemble. She’s only fourteen though, so Bella totally gets away with playing with her party frock by updating it with a jewel-embellished belt and spike-embellished python printed ankle booties. | continue reading..

Jessie J in Falguni and Shane Peacock & Mark Fast | VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul

She’s certainly been making some noise over here in the states, but I was still shocked — yet pleased, to know that the talented Jessie J was included in this years VH1 Divas concert event.

The 23-year-old English R&B/pop-star arrived on the red carpet at the Hammerstein Ballroom last night for the “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” concert in a daring dress from Falguni & Shane Peacock.

She’s such a fashion risk-taker, so I wasn’t surprised at all to see her in this black sheer long-sleeve dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection with gold and silver embroidered designs and open flap shoulder detail. To cover up personal areas, Jessie wore tight black shorts and a black bikini top underneath.

I noticed in some photos that she was wearing combat boots with the look, and I’m going to assume that’s because she’s still taking it easy on her foot (she broke it a few months ago!). Even while knowing that, I’m kind of disappointed that the calf-length dress was altered with an almost curtain-like hem. She recently wore a pair of gold oxford lace-up shoes to an event, she could have even worn those and left the dress in its original form. | continue reading..

Queen Latifah in Edition by Georges Chakra | VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul

You can’t have a diva concert and not have Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton! Last night at the taping of the “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” concert at Hammerstein Ballroom, the “Joyful Noise” co-stars took to the stage to perform a duet together.

Looking glam in a deep shade of blue, Queen Latifah wore an Edition by Georges Chakra gown from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection that appeared to be modified from a double strap look into a one shouldered design.

Georges Chakra is one of her go-to designers, and as usual, I think the dress looked great on her. I much prefer this version of the dress on her, and I love that sassy thigh slit! | continue reading..

Mary J. Blige in Michael Kors & Alexander McQueen | VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul

Mary J. Blige, one of the queen divas of R&B, arrived for the taping of the “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” special last night at Hammerstein Ballroom looking amazing in a crystal-embellished sleeveless off-white gown from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection by Michael Kors.

Mary looked down-right gorgeous in this dress! I love the fit on her, and check out that stunning gather-and-fall detail at the side which only enhanced how great this looked on her athletic figure. | continue reading..

Florence Welch in Antonio Berardi, Naeem Khan, Temperley London & Emilio Pucci | VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul

As a big fan of Florence + the Machine, I was very excited to learn that Florence Welch would be taking part in the VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul concert last night. The red-headed English songstress arrived at the Hammerstein Ballroom wearing a nude long-sleeve silk dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Antonio Berardi with a high-low hem and high-neckline. The most eye-catching aspect of the dress would obviously be the absolutely breathtaking embellishments throughout the design.

I would have been floored had she wore shoes brightly hued like the metallic green pair from the catwalk, but while Florence played it safe — her nude point toe “Halte” pumps by Christian Louboutin were equally fabulous. | continue reading..

Jennifer Hudson in Francesco Scognamiglio, The Blonds & Dolce & Gabbana | VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul

It was an evening of rhythm and soul last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. VH1 held their annual VH1 Divas concert where the vocal talent — both legendary and new — of different genres came together on one stage for several unforgettable performances. For this years theme, “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul”, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine), Kelly Clarkson and Jessie J headlined the event and took the stage with the likes of Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Boyz II Men, Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius and Travie McCoy.

Jennifer Hudson arrived on the red carpet decked out in a head-to-toe look from Francesco Scognamiglio‘s Fall/Winter 2011 collection. The 30-year-old singer (and Weight Watchers spokeswoman) looked slimmer than ever in this shimmering three-quarter length sleeve dress. Her particular design was not seen on the catwalk; Jenn’s featured a shiny stretchy fabric and thicker lace ruffled embroidery at the neckline.

In addition to the dress, Jenn rocked an insane pair of glittery banded thigh-high boots from the collection! I like the boots more than the dress on her, but I think they were better suited for one of the performances rather than the carpet. I would have loved to have gotten a great view of the heel during the show.

She finished off her look with sparkly hoop earrings, a flower ring and matching bangles from Jacob & Co.. | continue reading..
