MY VERDICT: Viola brightened up the red carpet in her turquoise silk-chiffon single shoulder gown from Lhuillier’s Spring 2013 collection. I had hoped to see this get some spotlight during awards season, and I believe it was a gorgeous choice for the “Beautiful Creatures” star. Viola added some colorful contrast with coral and gold Cathy Waterman scalloped statement earrings and a aqua stone cuff bracelet. It’s that time again! 2012 was a big year in style, and it felt almost nearly impossible to pick the most fashionable stars—but it had to be done. There were a lot of fabulous moments, but not every star stayed consistent. For my year end countdown below, I selected 20 celebrities—male and female, that I felt stood out the most. Did any of your favorites make the cut?

20. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
There was no slow start to a year of style for Joseph, who kicked his red carpet moments off with a dapper look at the Golden Globe Awards in January. I really liked the satin trim of his tuxedo, but it was obviously the printed bow tie that stole the show. Throughout the next twelve months, JGL continued to thrive with his choices that were filled with character; from pinstripes to a totally fashion-forward chocolate velvet tartan Alexander McQueen suit for a talk show appearance. I particularly liked the way he partnered a three piece navy suit with a coordinating plaid shirt. Seriously, how could he not make this list?

Viola Davis was chic in black and white when she attended the 29th Annual Fashion Group International Night Of Stars gala in New York City on Thursday evening.

The “Won’t Back Down” actress arrived at Cipriani Wall Street wearing a sleeveless black floor-length dress by MaxMara which featured draping at the waist and white color-blocking at the left side of the bodice.

This dress was just so effortlessly fitting for her, and I like that she wore black sandals rather than a pair of pumps. Viola also accessorized with large bold diamond earrings, a matching bracelet and a embellished evening clutch. She left her hair natural, which I love, and finished off with a glossy dark raspberry lip-color.

Viola Davis was beautiful in blue when she stepped out on the red Ziegfeld Theater carpet on Monday to celebrate the premiere of her new movie “Won’t Back Down”, which is due in theaters nationwide tomorrow!

The 47-year-old Oscar-nominated actress wore a stunning shade of the oceanic color with a wide v-neck, short sleeve silk gown by Alberta Ferretti. Viola was giving us minimalist chic, but not without a little bit of striking detail.

Va-va-voom Viola!

I was so excited to see Viola Davis arrive for the Academy Awards last night, but I was even more so thrilled that she did exactly what I hoped and nixed her wig in favor of going with her natural hair! Viola looks so beautiful this way, and I wish she had done it more during awards season.

The red hues of her hair also looked fantastic with her emerald green corseted faille gown gown that was custom made for her by Vera Wang. I loved the floral crystal appliqué embroidery at the split strapless neckline — almost as much as the bustling that waved into a draped chiffon pleated skirt. | continue reading..

The 46-year-old star of “The Help” wore a three-quarter length sleeved v-neck Victoria Beckham cream-colored dress with patch front pockets, that hit at her knees and hugged her toned body. Viola Davis joined her co-star Octavia Spencer as they supported Tate Taylor, who wrote the screenplay for their Oscar-nominated film “The Help”, at the 2012 Writers Guild West Coast Awards this past Saturday night at the Hollywood Palladium.

The 46-year-old star made a nice return to the red carpet after that startling exposed appearance at the NAACP Image Awards last Friday. For this ceremony, Viola wore a silky half white and half black halter-neck maxi dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection by Raoul that she defined with a thick black leather belt.

I really liked this dress on her and I think she wore the perfect belt to accent it!

Viola completed her look with a swept coif and dark red glossy lips.
