MY VERDICT: It was no surprise to see Helena turn to her favorite designer Vivienne Westwood for the Oscars red carpet.  The “Les Misèrables” actress selected a square neck black evening gown with sheer tiers that appeared in an almost gradient effect as it turned into grey and ivory layers.  I liked the style of the dress, but it appeared very heavy on Helena and seemed a bit ill-fitting at the waist and bust head-on.  It was smart to partner the dress with a simple pretty necklace and black platform pumps, but Helena’s hair was so messy. It was like a prom ‘do…the next day.

MY VERDICT: There were so many blue dresses worn on the red carpet last night, and they were all so beautiful!  Nicole, in particular, stood out to me in her striking (and sparkling) Vivienne Westwood Couture navy and black  embroidered Marlene gown with floral appliqués all over.  I love this streamlined silhouette, the mesh yoke and scattered embroidery, and the intense scallop trim slit to show off her classic Manolo Blahnik black strappy “Chaos” sandals.  A super sleek mane and Fred Leighton emerald statement earrings helped the star pull off a flawless look.  She was a clear favorite of mine. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: I haven’t see Eva looking this fantastic on the red carpet in a long time, so it’s kind of funny that she picked this particular event to have one of her best fashion moments.  This simplistic peach draped georgette “Bellini” dress looked beautiful on her petite frame, and against her long dark hair—which she left in sleek center parted strands.  With her signature smoky eyes and diamond stud earrings in place, Eva was ready for her close-up.

WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.

MY VERDICT: I have a stubborn love for anything Jen Garner wears; there are some things I like, but most of the time I want to like it—but, I never do.  Clearly that wasn’t the case at the Golden Globes this year because she was darn-near flawless in a Vivienne Westwood Couture burgundy sequin “Riding” strapless gown.  The gathered bust and dazzling detail is breathtaking, and I love how she wore her hair up in a wavy ponytail with face framing tendrils that highlighted her gold earrings.  This might be one of her Jennifer’s best red carpet appearances to date, at least I think so—and I doubt many would disagree.

She completed her sparkling gem of a look with a pair of Ferragamo burgundy red satin peep toe platform pumps.

There were only two designers I expected Helena Bonham Carter to wear tonight when she attended the world premiere of “Les Misérables” in London—and she wore one of them.

The 46-year-old English actress arrived at the Odeon Leicester Square donned in a strapless Vivienne Westwood black draped corset gown studded with all over gold beaded embellishments.  This is a style that’s obviously classic Westwood, therefore it’s not a design that should be new to you.  I appreciated the shimmering embellished detail as it set it apart from the others.

I could go on and on about how I’d like to see her wear a shoe with a sleek silhouette, but Helena loves sticking with her chunky platform pumps, and I don’t see a change in the future.  She completed her look with red nails, diamond and emerald jewelry and voluminous curls that were gathered in various spots before being topped off with a diamond hair pin.

What did you think of Helena’s look at the UK premiere?

Rita Ora got a little bit glam tonight when she stepped out on the dark red carpet for the annual British Fashion Awards, held at The Savoy Hotel in London, England.

Dressed in a special creation by Vivienne Westwood, the “How We Do” singer flaunted her toned figured in a off-the-shoulder mint blue draped corset gown with an all-over icy speckled print.  I loved the two-tone effect; Rita looks amazing.  The dress fits her so well and I’m glad she added some extra dazzle with a diamond bib necklace—along with her go-to favorite gold trinkets, including her Cartier “Juste Un Clou” bracelet.

This look was complete with voluminous blonde curls, smoky eyes and a clean pink lip instead of the red pout that Rita typically turns to.  This was a refreshing, soft change.

What did you think of Rita’s look tonight at the BFAs?

It was a fairytale ending for MyAnna Buring on the red carpet when she stepped out for the London premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″. MyAnna, who joined the series as a vampire for the final installment that was broken up into two movies, reunited with costars Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Judi Shekoni for their last UK premiere.

After working a maroon floral lace gown at the Hollywood celebration on Monday, MyAnna switched gears tonight and opted for an pale blue corseted gown by Vivienne Westwood that she paired with a whimsical braided up-do, which has been giving me Cinderella visions since she arrived. | continue reading..

It’s that time of year again—the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show! To help celebrate the annual televised runway holiday presentation, Rihanna hit the pink carpet last night at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City as she was slated for two performances during the show. Justin Bieber was also a musical guest.
Though many stars attend the VS show wearing as much animal print and lace as possible, the “Diamonds” singer just bared a bit of belly in a Miu Miu black duchesse bralette crop-waist top that she paired with the silver antique stretch duchesse pencil skirt—both from the latest Spring/Summer 2013 collection. | continue reading..

While Naomie Harris was showing some skin in an edgy see-through dazzler, Bérénice Marlohe opted for the ‘classic glamour’ route when she hit the red carpet at Royal Albert Hall for the London premiere of “Skyfall” last night.

The latest “Bond girl” looked beautiful in a red Vivienne Westwood haute couture strapless corset ballgown.
