Spending the afternoon posing for a camera in one couture gown after another doesn’t sound like such a tough day at work to me. I’m sure KEIRA KNIGHTLEY found the idea to be on ‘the bright side’ of her daily “To Do List” when she was asked to be the cover girl of next month’s VOGUE.

The “Anna Karenina” star was photographed by Mario Testino for the October issue, styled by Grace Coddington, wearing a bone lace gown and metallic gloves from the Fall/Winter 2012 Haute Couture collection by CHANEL.

In the issue, you’ll find the striking English actress in a slew of beautiful gowns from Valentino to Dior … and two more looks from Chanel, of course. Which is your favorite? | continue reading..

Cover Girl: Lady Gaga is Larger Than Life for VOGUEPhotographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for VOGUE; Fashion Editor: Tonne Goodman; Hair: Luigi Murenu for John Frieda; Makeup: Lucia Pieroni for Clé de Peau Beauté
It should be known that LADY GAGA never does anything halfway, so you should also not be surprised by her hair-raising September cover of the ultimate fashion magazine, our beloved VOGUE.

Lens by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the pop star poses on the cover of the 916-page issue, which also marks its 120th anniversary, wearing a gorgeous metallic purple off-the-shoulder mermaid gown by Marc Jacobs.

The soaring ribbon adorned cover is a great departure from past issues, but does it “fly” with you? If not, let’s pay attention to the inside where Gaga is styled in a furry ensemble of Fall/Winter 2012 fashion.

Well…kind of… she’s also totally-err-mostly naked in a photo or two.

Again, this should not be a surprise. | continue reading..

Cover Girl: Marion Cotillard’s ‘Dark Knight’ Style for VOGUE’s August Issue!

Cover Girl: Marion Cotillard's 'Dark Knight' Style for VOGUE's August Issue!Photographed by Peter Lindbergh for VOGUE; Fashion Editor: Tonne Goodman; Hair: Orlando Pita for Orlo Salon; Makeup: Stéphane Marais
MARION COTILLARD hits the silver-screen this summer as Miranda Tate, a board member Wayne Enterprises and love interest of Bruce Wayne (aka Batman, duh) in “The Dark Knight Rises”, the third and final film in the Christopher Nolan-directed franchise for ‘The Caped Crusader’. But before the beautiful French actress graces our cinemas, she’s taking over the newsstands as the cover gal for the August issue of American VOGUE.

Fashion editor Tonne Goodman styled the actress in a violet velvet Ralph Lauren Collection for the cover, which was lens by Peter Lindbergh. Stéphane Marais kept her make-up subtle enough to merely enhance her natural beauty while hairstylist Orlando Pita gathered her long dark locks into a wind-blown low ponytail.

In the issue, Marion is featured in a slew of dark and romantic looks from Fall/Winter 2012 Ready-to-Wear, including Alexander McQueen and Burberry Prorsum, as she opens up about working on the final Batman film while raising her infant son Marcel Canet. “She gave birth and was back on set almost immediately,” says Nolan. “She’s Superwoman.”

Let’s take a look at those clothes! | continue reading..

Making her VOGUE Magazine debut, “The Amazing Spider-Man” star EMMA STONE covers the July 2012 issue, lens by Mario Testino, wearing negligee-looking Nina Ricciivory and pale pink silk-and-wool dress with lacy black elements and a wool-tweed coat from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection.

Tonne Goodman styled Emma for the cover shoot and helped her accessorize the light colored pieces with sparkling star earrings by H. Stern, while hairstylist Christiaan gave her blonde mane a relaxed, partially swept feel and makeup artist Linda Cantello carefully lined her eyes to really pop yet kept her pout on the pale side.

For the editorial, Emma played the androgynous look by suiting up in patterned menswear-inspired outfits as well as a few sassy — and slinky — frocks from designer collections like Prada, Versus, Jil Sander, and Givenchy. “This is what fashion does for people,” Stone says. “It makes them feel like it’s an extension of themselves.”

Inside the issue, Emma talked to Nathan Heller about the latest Spider-Man flick, her idols (which include Diane Keaton, by the way), and finding the balance between drama and comedy in her acting career. | continue reading..

Anna Wintour in Prada | 2012 MET Gala

You can’t very well have a MET Gala fashion report and not include the lady in charge of the whole shebang — American VOGUE Editor-in-Chief — Anna Wintour!

With her signature bob-cut hairstyle visible from many feet away, Ms. Wintour hit the red carpet last night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC for the opening of the “Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations” exhibition.

While in years past Anna has donned many looks from a particular pair of designers, it was all about Prada this time around as arrived wearing a natural linen, hand painted gown that was embroidered with gold metal trimming and a plexi and glass stone lobster embroidered motif going down the side of the dress.

Anna accessorized with a colorful topaz statement necklace, a plush ivory fur cape and strappy sandals.

I could have done without the cape in every photo to appreciate more of the dress, but I think this may be my most favorite look from Anna at the MET Gala in many years.

Did you like Anna’s MET Gala look? I want to know your thoughts!

Kristen Stewart made her debut as the ambassador for the latest fragrance by Balenciaga when she attended the Autumn/Winter 2012 fashion show for the fashion house as part of Paris Fashion Week.

The 21-year-old “Snow White and The Huntsman” star arrived right before showtime and sat front row next to Charlotte Gainsbourg (the face of the Balenciaga Paris fragrance), Salma Hayek and VOGUE Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. | continue reading..

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior | “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”

Last night Charlize Theron was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote her new movie “Young Adult”; a ‘dramedy’ about a recently divorced woman… who just never really grew up. This film is already getting lots of award season buzz, and my interest is beyond piqued.

During the interview, Charlize talked about her photo-shoot for the December issue of VOGUE where photographer Annie Leibovitz shot her in freezing water locations around Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. She may have been cold then, but Charlize kept warm for the interview in a dark semi-sheer loose maxi dress — from the latest Christian Dior cruise collection — under a black boyfriend blazer.

The airy design of this is so cozy and flirty; I love the billowy top with the chunky charm appliqué neckties and sheer arms that band at the cuff.  I’m almost sad she covered them up, but at the same time, the open neck with the relaxed blazer worked together. The fabric practically floated around her as she walked on stage, and she looked really comfortable during the conversation with Jay. | continue reading..

Cover Girl: Rooney Mara Shows Off Her ‘Dragon Tattoo’ for VOGUE!

I’m completely blown away by the November issue of VOGUE with 26-year-old actress ROONEY MARA gracing the cover.

Ralph Lauren Collection - Fall/Winter 2011 Ready-to-WearPhoto: Style.com
Rooney was photographed by the amazing duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott wearing a Ralph Lauren Collection black gown with a large dragon embroidery on the back. Quite fitting, no? She looked mysterious, gorgeous, and down-right dangerous.

Rooney talked to the fashion magazine about nabbing the extremely sought-after lead role in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”; effectively beating out A-list actresses like Scarlett Johnasson and Natalie Portman. She opened up about working on the film and the changes she went through — mostly with her appearance — she had to drastically cut and color her hair for the role, as you can see.

The eyebrows were the biggest shock because that really changed my face and I didn’t recognize myself,” says Mara. “But I was fine because I knew it was going to be really helpful for getting into character.”

Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury achieved Rooney’s smokey eyes, flawless skin, and rich colored lips for the shoot using only CHANEL beauty products. | continue reading..
