Jessica Biel turned to couture for her wardrobe at the London premiere of “Total Recall” last night at the Vue West End.

The 30-year-old continued her love affair with white frocks when she stepped out on the carpet in a playful top and skirt from the Spring/Summer 2012 Giambattista Valli haute-couture collection. Jessica’s ensemble included a button-down collared blouse with long sheer lace sleeves that connected to a lace tulle pencil cut skirt with a feathered peplum layer, which sat at the waist. | continue reading..

Kate Beckinsale shut. it. down. last night when she stepped out on the white carpet for the London premiere of “Total Recall” working a black crepe-and-sequin corset combo gown, which featured a ultra-glam oversize bow at the waist.

I had always envisioned the English actress in a dress from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection by Donna Karan (remember my MTV Movie Awards wish list?), but to actually see her working one of Karan’s dresses is such a beautiful reality. | continue reading..

Minnie Driver in Alberta Ferretti | 2011 London Film Festival Premiere – “Hunky Dory”

Minnie Driver hit the red carpet at Vue West End last night in London for the premiere of “Hunky Dory”; presented at during the 55th BFI London Film Festival.

Minnie wore a shiny gunmetal one shoulder silk gown with one sleeve cutout at the shoulder by Alberta Ferretti. She looked beautiful, but the gown seems to be about a size too big on her — unless that’s how it supposed to look. Maybe she could have added a pretty belt over the gathered detail line at the waist.

I’m not really sure.

All I know is that I usually have a difficult time getting into her red carpet, and yet I think this suited her well. I especially loved her loose pinned hair and that Edie Parker box clutch she kept a tight hold on.

Freida Pinto in Ralph Lauren | 2011 London Film Festival Premiere – “Trishna”

Freida Pinto nixed a gown for the premiere of “Trishna” tonight at the BFI London Film Festival in favor of a black jumpsuit from Ralph Lauren‘s Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

While I’m totally on board with the accessories, including the two-tone platform sandals and bag from the collection, I’m not a fan of this jumpsuit on Freida. The dangerous plunging neckline is too sharp on her while the rest of it just looks like shimmering sequined pajamas.

I wish she had worn the earrings from the collection. Or any earrings for that matter.

On her wrist is a beautiful Chopard platinum cuff encrusted with 151 fancy cut diamonds. | continue reading..

Freida Pinto in Louis Vuitton | 2011 London Film Festival Photocall – “Trishna”

Today Freida Pinto promoted her film “Trishna” during a press conference and photocall held during the 55th BFI London Film Festival wearing a light peach Louis Vuitton silk double-breasted pocket sleeveless dress with shimmer satin paneling.

I’m speechless. Now, I’m a firm believer in dressing for yourself and if you love it and feel confident wearing it — despite what critics say — go for it.

With that being said, I can’t imagine how Freida put on this dress and said to herself “this looks great, now I’m going to pair it with shoes that don’t match it.”

Alone the pieces are great, but they’re not a match. There’s something very casual about her Manolo Blahnik weaving thick multi-strap sandals and wearing them to compliment a cocktail dress. Gold thin strappy sandals or even a nude pump would have been more complimentary. Furthermore, the dress is bunching all over the place so it doesn’t look like it even fits her.

There was really nothing done with her hair, but her make-up is good.
