MY VERDICT:  I was a bit nervous that this beautiful ombré sequined batwing gown was going to get overlooked on the red carpet after I fell in love with it on the Spring 2013 runway.  Most of the time my favorites never step off the catwalk, but I thankfully got to see the beautiful pink detail up-close thanks to Rosario. She stunned at the Inaugural Ball in this Reem Acra design.  I especially love that she kept her hair sleek but behind her shoulders to show off those pretty Graziela “Pink is the Word” statement earrings. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: I haven’t see Eva looking this fantastic on the red carpet in a long time, so it’s kind of funny that she picked this particular event to have one of her best fashion moments.  This simplistic peach draped georgette “Bellini” dress looked beautiful on her petite frame, and against her long dark hair—which she left in sleek center parted strands.  With her signature smoky eyes and diamond stud earrings in place, Eva was ready for her close-up.

MY VERDICT: I really like the bright color of Eva’s lilac crepe sheath dress, but I much prefer the style of the belt from Saab’s Resort 2013 presentation over her skinnier and darker toned accessory.  That being said, I do like that she didn’t try to be too “matchy-matchy” by matching her purple suede Brian Atwood pumps to the color of her belt.  Normally I’d be all about the sandal, but given the environment of the event, I think her look was appropriate.

MY VERDICT: In the last several weeks, Kerry has quickly become one of the top ladies on my radar—I’m loving her style! The “Scandal” star rocked the red carpet at the brunch in her crimson and black cashgora shift with black plonge cap sleeves, an off-runway design from the Fall 2012 collection.  Although the cut was classic, the style was bold and I like how she kept the edge going with over the knee boots and tights while keeping the rest of her look pretty soft with loose waves, a classic black flap bag, and a long delicate necklace.

WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Kids’ Inaugural concert at the Washington Convention Center on January 19, 2013.

MY VERDICT: Naya Rivera joined her “Glee” costar Darren Criss as they performed during the Kids’ Inaugural: Our Children, Our Future concert concert for children and military families. The event took place over the weekend before Monday’s Presidential Inauguration for Barack Obama’s second term.  Although we’re already into Pre-Fall 2013 for Stella McCartney, I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of the designer’s Fall 2012 collection—it was too good.  | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Sophia stepped out on the red carpet and posed in front of a illustration of book shelves wearing a fun little mixture of styles that included a partially unbuttoned herringbone silk sleeveless blue blouse by Harlyn, which she partnered with a full black Karolyn Pho circle skirt, from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection.  I like that the open neck of the top showed off her statement necklace, and although I adore her skirt, a part of me wishes she had worn a pencil cut for this particular look. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: If it were possible to give a standing ovation through the computer, I would be giving one in stylish honor to Michelle Obama.  The First Lady of the United States, for a second term, arrived at the Inaugural Ball this evening on the arm of her husband President Barack Obama wearing an absolutely beautiful custom made gown by Jason Wu.  It’s only January and already this was one of the most anticipated fashion moments of the year! | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Alicia Keys stunned in red when she celebrated Pesident Barack Obama’s reelection by performing at the Inaugural Ball this evening in Washington, D.C..  The “Girl On Fire” singer wore a gorgeous crimson Michael Kors crewneck matte jersey goddess gown with crystal embroidery, which twisted at the waist and featured a dramatic open back.   This design comes from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection by the designer, and I think it was a beautiful choice for Alicia.  It wasn’t busy, but it wasn’t too simple either—and let’s face it, those shimmering embellishments simply captivate.

Alicia wore her short hair pinned up to show off her diamond earrings that matched her bracelet, and completed her look with red open toe platform satin pumps.

MY VERDICT: I love a good statement coat, and Katy’s certainly fits the bill.  The orange and black striped pattern is bold and funky, but it’s the button and double slanted pocket details paired with that beautiful piped layer collar that really stands out the most.  I prefer the black leather belt from the runway, but Katy’s brown accent works well.  She actually wore a a pretty embroidered dress from the same collection beneath the outerwear, but unfortunately, we only saw the pointed collar.  I wish we could have seen more of it—as well as her shoes of choice.

I liked the way she finished with a black hat, oversize sunglasses, diamond earrings, and a really cool Chanel iphone case.

MY VERDICT: Sporting her new fringe hairstyle, Sophia rocked this bash wearing a shortened version of a midnight “Zig Zag” beaded strapless dress from Lisa Ho ‘s Spring 2012 runway collection.  I personally like the floor-length style more, and would have liked to see it on Soph, but that’s not to say she didn’t look fabulous in this frayed georgette mini.  Passing on a predictable black pump or strappy sandals, she selected bold silver Jimmy Choo “Anouk” pointed toe pumps to match her glittering Foley + Corinna silver “Cadeau” clutch.  | continue reading..
