Jennifer Garner in Roberto Cavalli | “Argo” Washington D.C. Premiere

After two very successful premiere looks, it appears that red took a backseat when Jennifer Garner selected her gown for the “Argo” premiere in Washington, D.C. last night. Her husband Ben Affleck directed the film in which he also stars.

Jennifer arrived at Regal Gallery Place Stadium 14 wearing a ruched v-neck silk gown by Roberto Cavalli in a rich dark teal with a black lace-and-sequin trim inset at the neckline.

Walking on the side of “less is more”, Jen wore very little make-up and no jewelry — other than her wedding rings. She then completed her look with a center-parted smooth hairstyle that traveled into big bouncy curls at the ends.

Earlier this month, Jennifer Lawrence embarked on a national mall tour with her co-stars from “The Hunger Games” which included drastic wardrobe changes to accommodate the temperatures all over the U.S.

For the stop in Seattle, the 21-year-old actress braved the rainy brisk weather with a pair of flared MiH Jeans, caramel leather Alejandro Ingelmo booties and a warm black trench coat by Fay. | continue reading..

It may not always be agreed upon that Michelle Obama wore the best dress, but I think everyone can appreciate her love of design, print, and color. Not since Jackie O. has a First Lady inspired so many with fashion and flare. Where Jackie brought the classic lady-like cuts and accessories, Michelle is rocking serious prints, bold embellishments, fun shapes, and vibrant colors.

The First Lady of the US was consistent all year of putting her most fashionable foot forward when it came to getting ready for several press conferences, royal dinners, galas, and even traveling. She was never afraid to wear a mixture of striking colors, textures, and bold accessories from head-to-toe by some of the hottest designers!

Michelle’s recently been seen in fierce creations by Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Cushnie et Ochs, and Alexander McQueen. But, she even rocks Converse and paint-splattered jeans in style! | continue reading..

Jennifer Nettles in Stella McCartney & Roland Mouret | 34th Kennedy Center Honors Gala Dinner

Jennifer Nettles of the Country music duo Sugarland brought the house down with her performance at the 2011 Kennedy Center Honors Gala Dinner earlier this month. I’m always captivated by her performances — her voice is ridiculous. Another thing I love about her is her consistent stylish wardrobe!

I’ve seen this sequined jumpsuit by Stella McCartney previously in black on Gwen Stefani and in gold on Iman, but I’ve yet to love it as much as I do in this stunning taupe shade on Jennifer.

Due to the lighter color beneath and black chiffon overlay, the sequin illusion of paint splatters really popped on the plunging v-neck jumpsuit. Her curly bob haircut was both pretty and completely non-distracting from the neckline and structured shoulders. | continue reading..

On Tuesday night CBS aired the prestigious annual Kennedy Center Honors Gala Dinner from Washington, DC. After seeing Anne Hathaway wow in a Giambattista Valli on the red carpet on December 3rd, we finally got to the look she wore for her performance during the gala!

Anne took to the stage in a beautiful white and black tulle cap-sleeve lace embroidered gown with grosgrain belt from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Oscar de la Renta.

I love this on Anne! I know she just left her hair the way it was done for the red carpet, I can’t help but wish it had been styled in beautiful pin curls with this gown. | continue reading..

Meryl Streep in Elie Saab | 2011 Kennedy Center Honors Gala Dinner

Meryl Streep posed for a photo with her fellow honorees, Yo-Yo Ma, Neil Diamond, Sonny Rollins, and Barbara Cook, on Saturday night at the 2011 Kennedy Center Honors Gala dinner, hosted by United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I wish there were solo photos of Meryl from that night to get the full effect of the eggplant long-sleeve draped gown she wore from designer Elie Saab‘s fabulous Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

From what I can see, her hair was beautifully styled in large pulled curls, and her make-up was flawless. I wear glasses and avoid contacts, so I like seeing her rock her specs for the black tie event. This is a lovely color on Meryl, and the dress seemed to be a great fit. I wonder what shoes she wore.

Most of Meryl’s family was also in attendance for the dinner; including her daughters Grace and Mamie Gummer, and her son Henry Gummer.

Emily Blunt in Notte by Marchesa | 34th Kennedy Center Honors

After wowing in a raspberry gown the previous night for the 2011 Kennedy Center Honors Dinner gala, Emily Blunt arrived at the Kennedy Center Hall of States on Sunday night in Washington, DC for the 24th Annual Kennedy Center Honors.

The 28-year-old English actress selected an azalea strapless chiffon gown from Notte by Marchesa. The design included a sweetheart neckline with a crossover ruched bodice trimmed with ruffles spanning out into a peplum low on the waist.

Once again, Emily looked amazing! I love the color, the girly silhouette, and Emily’s no-fuss hairstyle. Her smooth “lob” was sleek and chic, as was her feminine dewy make-up.

She added some dazzle to her neck with a Neil Lane diamond necklace that matched her pewter clutch. Where was this bag the night before?

Sarah Jessica Parker in Theyskens’ Theory | 34th Kennedy Center Honors

Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband actor Matthew Broderick was among the attendees at this years Kennedy Center Honors this past Sunday night at the Kennedy Center Hall of States in Washington, DC.

The “New Year’s Eve” actress hit the star-studded red carpet wearing a black organza ballgown from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection by Theyskens’ Theory. I like the subtle detail of the buttoned bodice; the full skirt reminds me of the angel tree topper on one of my Christmas trees — and I mean that as a compliment. I’ve been less than pleased with SJP’s recent looks; she’s worn some really great dresses, but over-all she’s been less than stellar on the red carpet for me.

At the KCH event she was much more polished. For once, her hair was kempt and smooth. I’m normally not a fan of this ‘such great heights’ style, but I think it was best for this particular gown. Her Fred Leighton diamond earrings are stunning. | continue reading..

On Friday, Kerry Washington celebrated October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month by attending the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Honoring the Promise benefit at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Appropriate for the event, Kerry wore a blush-colored version of this Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2011 peplum dress, and paired it with Casadei triple platform pumps in black satin.

The dress looked lovely on her; I prefer this color to the runway dress. If you remember, Lily Collins wore this dress to the LA premiere of “Abduction” earlier this season.

Kerry accessorized with a pair of 14k strawberry gold, vanilla, and chocolate diamond hoop earrings and a matching ring by Le Vian. Sounds like Neapolitan ice cream! | continue reading..
