MY VERDICT: There’s never a dull fashion moment when Zoe Saldana is around. There are times when she’s a risk-taker, and then the next thing you know she’s opting for pure, classic elegance. That’s exactly what happened at the Cannes Film Festival today where Zoe opted for a playful polka-dot skirt, colorblock top and colorful pumps at the photocall for her movie “Blood Ties”—only to hit the red carpet for the premiere in a lovely embroidered Valentino gown.

Zoe wore the blue-grey silk chiffon full length dress from the Fall 2013 collection with brocade embroidery throughout the sheer overlay, thick white panel straps, and a delicate strand of pearls that frame the top of cutout detail at the back of the dress. The design of the gown is refreshingly unique even though the silhouette is timeless.

She wore her long brunette tresses pulled off her face by a hair-made headband; this allowed Zoe to showcase her David Yurman pear-shaped drop earrings. A red matte lip was Zoe’s beauty choice for the second time today.

MY VERDICT: Zoe Saldana ended her run on the “Star Trek Into Darkness” press tour by heading to the French Riviera to promote her upcoming movie “Blood Ties” with costar Marion Cotillard and director Guillaume Canet during the Cannes Film Festival. The 32-year-old actress looked beautiful in a Emanuel Ungaro black and white blouson sleeve top adorned with gold buttons at the wrist, which she partnered with a matching wrapped pokla-dot skirt that included more of the button detail traveling down the side.

Both pieces come from Ungaro’s brilliant Fall 2013 collection filled with bold patterns. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: All eyes were on Zoe Saldana when she arrived for the premiere of the highly-anticipated “Star Trek Into Darkness”. After promoting it across the globe for the past few weeks, I was excited for the Hollywood celebration of the sequel to the 2009 hit. The press tour for this movie has found Zoe rocking jumpsuits and hot pink metallic mini dresses, but with this particular event she opted for something a little sexier and wore a Rodarte nude embroidered v-neck cocktail dress from the Fall 2013 collection. This v-neck slip dress is lined with tiered ruffle panels surrounding a sheer inset at the waist. | continue reading..

OMG it’s that time of year again—the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival kicks off tomorrow! It’s officially time to prepare yourself for gorgeous gowns, and let’s face it, questionable choices. Some of my favorite red carpet dresses have been debuted during the prestigious film festival, so I’m looking forward to seeing which repeat attendees will continue their “WOW” streak and who will end up surprising us all. In the meantime, I’ve compiled a list of dresses I hope to see on the stars who are expected to attend.

I have a bit of a soft spot for this particular wish list as the festival last year was the first event I ever did one for.

MY VERDICT: Before hitting the red carpet for the premiere of “Star Trek Into Darkness” in a white jumpsuit, Zoe played with prints at the press conference and photocall earlier in the day. The 34-year-old actress wore a black and white speckled sleeveless dress by Bottega Veneta, from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection with a deep v-neckline and cutaway detail beneath the bust.

This was a pretty dress on Zoe, but I’m perplexed as to why she partnered it with such a heavy shoe. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: I thought I would be practically in a fashion coma after the MET gala carpet last night, but thankfully my excitement for Zoe Saldana on the red carpet for the Mexico City premiere of “Star Trek Into Darkness” the next night was not dimmed.

She wore a jumpsuit!

By now you should know my major affection for pantsuits, and therefore you’re probably not surprised that Zoe’s white Elie Saab long sleeve jumpsuit is one of my favorite looks from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection. The biggest fashion event of the year is finally here! The red carpet will be filled with all types of punk rock glam this Monday night for the 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala where your favorite heavy-hitters in fashion, music, film and television will mingle at the stylish fête. Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci will be hosting the VOGUE soirèe that has been officially themed “PUNK: Chaos to Couture” to honor the latest exhibition at the mueseum.

MY VERDICT: Zoe stood out on the white carpet in bright pink as she joined her co-stars for the German premiere of their new film, “Star Trek Into Darkness”; the follow-up to 2009′s “Star Trek”, the widely successful motion picture based off the iconic television series. Selecting a look from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection by Balmain, Zoe rocked a long sleeve gold and pink embroidered metallic scale top tucked into a hot pink gathered tulip mini skirt.

I’m completely in love with the futuristic rock element of this design; not only was it perfect for the event, but it also complimented Zoe’s lean figure while highlighting her complexion.

I’m not exactly thrilled that she left out the embellished belt seen on the model, but the lack of accessory didn’t hurt the look for me either. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: In my opinion, Zoe was one of the best dressed ladies of the night. The MTV Movie Awards are not about glitz and glamour; it’s definitely much more low-key when it comes to dresses on the red carpet. You’re supposed to expect funky playsuits, playful dresses, and a touch of cocktail attire. I love the casual approach Zoe took towards an evening look by selecting this Givenchy Fall 2013 gown, which bursts with edgy femininity by combining a long sleeve black silk top with a full-length floral skirt that features a sexy high side slit and a sheer dotted panel.

Seriously, it’s all about the skirt, and I’m digging how Zoe didn’t try to overpower it by layering up on accessories to create a busy atmosphere up top. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: In my opinion, Zoe was one of the best dressed stars at the Academy Awards this year in her Alexis Mabille gown.  This was one of my favorite dresses on the Spring 2013 Haute Couture runway, but I wasn’t expecting to see it on Oscar night.  It’s always nice to be surprised!  I think Zoe brought new life to the silk pale belted gown, which featured petal embroidery along the strapless bust and a split skirt edged in greyscale tiers. It fit her figure beautifully, highlighted her complexion, and took on a whole new level on glamour with a simple side pose.  Look at the way the train perfectly glides! | continue reading..
