MY VERDICT: In true Zooey Deschanel fashion, the “New Girl” star arrived wearing an Oscar de la Renta ball gown completed with wispy bangs and pearls.  She’s has a knack for playing with vintage styles and sometimes infusing her quirky personality into it, which she did tonight with film reel nail art!  Zooey wore a red silk taffeta gown from the designers Pre-Fall 2013 collection, a strapless design with a full skirt that wasn’t presented on the runway.  I like that Zooey sticks to her likes and doesn’t comprise her style; she knows what she’s into and it never comes across as phoney on the red carpet.  I think she looked really nice.

In less than 24hrs some of the biggest stars in television and film will walk the red carpet for the 70th Annual Golden Globes Awards in Hollywood, but what will they be wearing?  In comes The Fashion Court: Wish List, with a selection of pretty gowns that I could picture on several of the stars who will be attending. I obviously couldn’t ‘dress’ all of the nominees and presenters, or else this post would take you over an hour to read, but you’ll find eighteen of your favorites below.

Now, I know how these shows work; I imagine a good 50% of the stars will be in custom made dresses, especially some of the stars included in this list. That doesn’t mean I can’t have my fun, of course.

I’m convinced Disney princesses played a major role in inspiration of the fashion at last night’s 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in Hollywood. With Sofia Vergara channeling Ariel and several women wearing bright yellowgowns like Belle, Zooey Deschanel balanced it out by kicking in the Cinderella factor.

Your favorite ladies from today’s hottest primetime shows hit the red carpet last night for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Performers Peer Group Cocktail Reception, which was held in Universal City, California — and they pretty much all wore black.

“Modern Family” star Julie Bowen arrived at the Sheraton Hotel wearing black floral lace dress from French couturier designer Christophe Josse, which featured flounce tiers at the waist and trim around the neckline along with beaded bordering throughout. With her hair gathered up and subtle make-up, Julie simply finished off her look with a dark purple lacquered pedicure that peeked out of her platform black suede Jimmy Choo pumps.

Julie’s costar Sofia Vergara continues to make me feel completely lazy about going to the gym as she struts around in a sassy little dress. The 40-year-old newly engaged actress flaunted her killer bod in a long-sleeve black lace dress with embroidered tasseling at the crossover hemline layer. She partnered the dress with black sheer tights, black onyx-and-diamond jewelry, classic dark suede platform pumps and a long silky mane. | continue reading..

Zooey Deschanel attended the FOX TCA All-Star party last night in West Hollywood to celebrate the upcoming Fall season of her hit show “New Girl”.

The 32-year-old actress wore a metallic gold jacquard sleeveless cocktail dress with bow detail from the Fall 2012 collection by Paule Ka. It’s a pretty dress for the fall season rather than the summer, but even still — I don’t feel like Zooey wore it the best way she could have.

A high ponytail and a open toe shoe, instead of her closed off dark pumps, would have made the look less cluttered and heavy. She finished off with a glossy pout, cat-eye lined eyes and bright red nails.

Zooey Deschanel wore a vibrant blue dress tonight when she arrived at the Gibson Amphitheatre this evening for the star-studded 2012 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California.

The “New Girl” star wore a sleeveless cobalt a-line dress from the Resort 2013 collection Monique Lhuillier, which featured a matching leather belt. You may remember seeing Emma Stone in a similar leather dress earlier this summer.

Although it appeared a bit wrinkled, that’s not what I disliked about Zooey’s look — it was her bag and heels, for sure. | continue reading..

Get ready teens, because tomorrow is the biggest night of the year where your favorite stars are honored with the 2012 Teen Choice Awards surfboard — and it’s all thanks to you! Are you excited to see if your vote mattered? While you anxiously await the results, let’s focus on fashion and what the ladies of the night will be wearing because that’s always a great way to pass the time in my eyes.
With the awards less than 24 hours away, there’s a good chance our fave gals already know what they’ll be walking the TCA carpet in. Then again, there’s always room for a change of plans at the last minute! The Fashion Court: Wish List is all about designer looks I’d like to see someone in — or something I think they would select. If they don’t wear it for this particular awards gala then there’s always hope for a future event!

Zooey Deschanel, a presenter at tonight’s ESPY Awards, arrived on the red carpet wearing a sparkling Oscar de la Renta dress.

The 32-year-old “New Girl” actress shimmered in a champagne sequined midi-length sheath dress, from the Resort 2013 collection, that she added a pop of color to with a bright red patent belt.

I can see that Zooey’s manicure is also red and gold, and I’m a fan of both sequins and bright colors… but, I can’t get into this look. I appreciate the risk, but I don’t like this particular belt with the style of the dress and I feel like she needed something else substantial to compliment the red — other than her nail color. | continue reading..
