Marisa Tomei in Marios Schwab | 'The Ides of March' Premiere

Finally, Marisa Tomei wore a cocktail dress that worked for her! Marisa arrived at the Beverly Hills premiere of “The Ides of March” held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theatre wearing a Marios Schwab deep red dress from his fall collection.

The silk gathered halter dress hit Marisa just below the knees and opened just enough at the neckline to add some drama without being overtly sexy. The leather belt features two side panel overlays at her hips. I’m a firm believer in the motto that ‘a little leather never hurt anyone’, so obviously I take that personally and run with it – a lot. Marisa went for it tonight and the dress looked great on her! I’m torn on whether or not she should have left the belt buckle at the waist as seen on the runway. It was my favorite part of the leather detail, but it might’ve been too overwhelming for her waist.

Her make-up is barely visible, but that’s not the problem to me…it’s the hair. Did she wash it, let it air dry, and hit the red carpet? In every picture she also has a sour look on her face which is kind of a bummer, hopefully nothing was actually wrong and maybe she was just having an off night on the carpet.

Leaving out the details, kudos to Marisa and her stylist — this was a great dress for her. Marisa finished her look off with Giuseppe Zanotti criss-cross peep toe sandals that featured a snakeskin printed platform.
