Salma Hayek is in Canada to present her movie “Americano” at the Toronto International Film Festival. Last night the actress attended the premiere wearing a nearly full look from the resort collection by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Salma definitely has the womanly curves to fill out the sheath dress featuring a snakeskin embroidery at the bust, an asymmetric hem to the skirt and cinched at the waist with a triple buckle belt. Unfortunately the tight fit of the dress caused unflattering tight ruching in her lower mid-section, but it’s slightly too loose at the arm opening, squeezing at the bust, and there are wrinkles. She just simply looks uncomfortable all together.
Another “don’t” would have to be the very high pompadour hair style, I would have loved to have seen the a little less volume and maybe a bouncy pony-tail for a youthful approach.
I’m a huge fan of the half-hidden slingback Giuseppe Zanotti pumps she wore, but I’m thinking a darker bronze shade would have complimented the darker hues of the details in her dress and belt. Salma’s outfit wouldn’t be complete without the McQueen clutch — who’d pass that up?
